What is the function of accessing 16 Bit Resisters available on VL6180 Controller?

Hi community,I have a display, which has only CLK, DI and CS pin for SPI communication. It uses TI protocol. The original driver is only working with raspberry pi, I try to import it into my custom STM32 MCU board, the CLK and CS signals seem okay,  Only the MOSI signal is always low. it seems no data is really sent to the display. here is the signal capture from logic analyzer. The whole write sequence: zoom in, single byte write:what could be the reason? Thanks in advance.

Sorry, my first time programming an STM32.  I have a bunch of data I need to store for a few hours, and the thought was to store it in Flash since there's a lot more of it (512k vs. 128k for regular RAM) but it looks to be pretty daunting. I've been reading a bunch of articles online, and they all seem to contradict each other, and they all say things like "all you do is write to the memory location, just like regular RAM" and then in the fine print it lists the 43 things you have to do first, - turn off IRQs, update control registers, etc., etc., etc.Is there an example program for the STM32G474RE that shows a simple "write a bunch of data to Flash" and an equally simple "read a bunch of data from Flash"?Thanks!Chris

Hi, is there CAN support available in STM32H573I-DK board, when I check STM32H573I-DK datasheet 2 CAN FD is mentioned. but pin io details are not available in user manual.

I have a working project that was running in STM32CubeIDE v1.7.0, with STM32CubeMX v6.3.0 and TouchGFX v4.18. After updating to STM32CubeIDE v1.10.1, STM32CubeMX v6.6.1, and TouchGFX v4.20, the program is getting stuck in HAL_Delay when HAL::initialize() is initializing the touchscreen.I watch uwTick variable up until the HAL::initialize() call, and it is updating. It is no longer updating in the Hal_GetTick function during touchscreen initialization.I have not changed any settings in the project or in CubeMX. I am not doing any overrides of the system tick initialization. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hey everyone,(code is attached to the post)I'm currently working on a project and using the NUCLEO-H755ZI-Q development board.A part of this project contains datahandling between the M7 und M4 Core. Therefore I read through a lot of documentation and tried out HSEM (which works great, but needs the CPU to handle, which is not optimal for my usecase) and DMA Handling with using the D3 sRAM Domain. My problem seems to be, that I'm not able to generate an interrupt / callback on the other core (e.g. the M7 core handels data over DMA into the sRAM and a callback on the M7 ist thrown on completion. I'm able to debug as far, that I can see, that both the M7 und M4 can see the data correctly written into the RAM thanks to MPU configuration.)What I need - or more like I think I need - is a way to generate an interrupt or callback on the M4, so I knows to get the new data and work with it. (and yes I future also the other way round from M4 to M7)Maybe there is a better way to handel my problem -

Hi. If the device is received with no ECOPACK on packaging, does it mean it is NOT ROHS-compliant?However, datasheet says it is supposed to be in ECOPACK packages.   Is there any other way to confirm if the device is ROHS or NON-ROHS compliant?

Hello All,I designed and built a bare metal board with an STM32H723ZGT6 and it runs fine.I have blinking LED's, timer / interrupts running, HSE and LSE etc.I have been trying to figure out why if I toggle the power supply the device will not boot up clean. The device appears stable in that I have left it running overnight withn o issues.I have looked through datasheets etc. but think I am missing something really simple. The device is powered through a 3.6V 500ma LDO voltage regulator and I can see no issues on this. Pointers on where too look would be appreciated.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well.I'm starting a new project where the main requirement is Wi-Fi connectivity and connection to AWS IoT. While researching what ST has to offer in this regard, I came across the document: https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/getting-started-with-stm32u5-iot-discovery-kit-and-aws/ta-p/49682. It discusses the B-U585I-IOT02A kit, which seems to be quite comprehensive. However, I noticed that the code available in the document https://github.com/FreeRTOS/iot-reference-stm32u5.git entirely uses FreeRTOS and does not include the .ioc file, which I am quite familiar with for configuring pins, timers, etc.Does ST have any other examples or kits that include Wi-Fi and AWS IoT connectivity? If yes, could you please provide a reference link? If not, I would like to know if it's possible to port the pure FreeRTOS code to a version that uses both FreeRTOS and the ST configurator .ioc.Thank you.

Hello,I am trying to port/get running the NFC08A1 RFAL polling demo on the NUCLEO-F072B.  I had no issues using L476RG.  I am fairly certain I have SPI set up correctly in CubeMX.  But, I am getting stuck at initialization, specifically at st25r3916CheckChipID(). ID is read as 0x18, which is causing it to return false and throw an error.  I was taking a look at the SPI traces and MISO (pink) looks not quite as clean as MOSI (blue) (sorry, had to capture using phone camera):Rise/fall on MISO looks a little slow compared to MOSI.  Could this be causing the issue?  From the datasheet, it looks like chip ID should come back as 0x31:Anywhere else you think I should look?  Thanks.

Two devices A & B are communicating on UART. A sends data stream to B. B sends one byte data back to A to acknowldge that data has been received. I want to implement if A doesn't receive acknowledgement from B then it display Error message on LCD.Please suggest best logic in A to implement this.As far I think I should start the UART_Receive_IT API for one byte . and complete callback sets the flag for acknowlegement. Incase flag is not set within one second or so after sending data then A display Error message on LCD. Should I start HAL_Delay(1000) after sending data and then check for flag set or not?If anyother best way, kindly suggest. I am still relatively new to coding word..so trying to find best ways.. ;)

I'm working on implementing STEVAL-ST25R3916B reader expansion board circuit schematic into custom PCB. Can I please get the actual design files for these, including the layout. I did find the pdf version but it would be great to have the design files. If the files are in Orcad format can I please get the .alg for the .brd file?Thank you, BV

I create a project by selecting the NUCLEO-H563ZI and answer yes to the question about initializing peripherals and the project will not build.  The error is: file included from ../Drivers/STM32H5xx_HAL_Driver/Inc/stm32h5xx_hal.h:29,from ../Drivers/STM32H5xx_HAL_Driver/Src/stm32h5xx_hal.c:35:../Core/Inc/stm32h5xx_hal_conf.h:409:11: fatal error: stm32h5xx_hal_usart.h: No such file or directory409 | #include "stm32h5xx_hal_usart.h"| ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The IDE reports itself to be STM32CubeIDEVersion: 1.14.0Build: 19471_20231121_1200 (UTC)If I try to read the ioc file and generate code from the STM32CubeMX standalone the problem persists. CubeMX reports itself to be "Version 6.10.0"I see others have reported similar problems, please provide some suggestions on the fix.

I'm using TouchGFX with an RTOS.How can I shutdown TouchGFX, so that my RTOS is still running? This would require to exit from HAL::taskEntry().

Hello,I am developing a model for human activity recognition on NEAI based on LSM6DSOX module. I managed to deploy a vanilla version using gyroscope data only, and now I'm creating a new project to deal with 6 axis (3 from gyroscope + 3 from accelerometer). However, I am not managing to add the signals to my project, because the import signal functionality identifies a problem in my data acquisition. My input sequence via Serial is in the following shape:acc_x acc_y acc_z rot_x rot_y rot_z, all of them separated by space.NEAI says there's a problem with the data basically in every row, starting from the column 7 (where I start to collect this sequence of 6-axis for a second time). I am not experienced with NEAI, and probably this might be related to the way I'm sending the data, but I can't find the solution. In my vanilla version, my print was in the shape "rot_x rot_y rot_z" and it worked fine. I'm using a buffer of size 64 (per axis). How should I format the data in the serial exactly

I am trying to establsih communication between a NUCLEO G474RE and a NUCLEO H7A3ZI-Q thorugh FDCAN. I have successfully accomplished FDCAN communication for both the boards individually using Normal mode as these boards have multiple FDCAN peripherals. I am using two ADM3050E FDCAN transceivers for communication. Now, I have set the baud rate and clock speed of FDCAN same for both boards, yet I have been unsuccessful. So, I wanted to know what I am doing wrong. Please find atteched zip files containing my projects.

Hi,i was hoping, that the Link-V3 would just work, after i used nucleo boards already. But i was dissapointed. I use the GDB server, and it says:ST-Link enumeration failedError in initializing ST-LINK device.Reason: ST-LINK DLL error.I just checked a Nucleo board, and there is no problem. The installation of the driver worked without errors.

Hi everyone, I'm deep into developing a project that is not only a passion but also a venture I'm financially invested in. I recently ordered a small batch of 50 PCBAs equipped with STM32L476RET6 microcontrollers from a well-known Chinese manufacturer. I've used their services before without any issues, and I’m sure many of you would have heard of them. However, I've encountered a significant challenge and could really use your collective wisdom. I'm experiencing a troubling 50% failure rate with the STM32 microcontrollers across the boards. While there could be various factors at play, one concern I have is the authenticity of the STM chips. I intend to discuss this matter with the supplier, especially since I'm contemplating another order of the same microcontrollers. Hopeful a transparent and open communication will help resolve this issue. I'm attaching a photo of one of the chips on the PCB for reference. It appears genuine and even has the ST logo, but I'm eag

Hi all, it seems that simply copying related files to path doesn't work and the reason is likely to be that the widget hasn't been registered in the new project yet. Wondering how to do the grafting work correctly.

Hello STM community. We developed a wireless charger based on the STWBC-MC chip. Our design follows exactly the ST Eval-Kit STEVAL-ISB047V1.No we are facing a problem with a customer, that the Foreign Object Detection (FOD) does not work stable. In some cases the charger does not detect foreign objects and still transfers power, wich resulted in one case to an overheating of the charging surface (deformation, melting marks and smell). Is there a chance to improve the FOD by tuning the parameters (see picture below)? The description of the parameters is unclear for us and does not help. How can we evaluate proper parameters? Thanks in advance,Sven.

Hi,I purchased new LPM01a board for power consumption analysis. When I am powering it up with usb host port (JP3 -> usb) red led light up. I tried with different hosts (desktop and laptop) but that does not works. I am getting error "Get current range command failed" in STM32CubeMonitor-Power. From google I found out that pc current limit is upto 100mA only. However, in user manual of LPM01, it specified that 500mA is required for working otherwise red led will light up. My first question is, if PC can be configared to deliver current upto 500mA, then how?Alternatively, LPM01 can be also powered from external CN7 jumper with JP3 set to Ext.In this regard, My 2nd  question is:In Ext power mode, data acquisition with STM32CubeMonitor-Power is still possible via usb port (CN5), or only the board display is available?

Figure 669. Message RAM configuration clearly shows that the message RAM is 0x350 bytes long which corresponds to 212 32-bit words. But later the following example is used to show, how the message RAM of FDCAN2 follows message RAM for FDCAN1:As an example, for two instances:• FDCAN1: – start address 0x0000 – end address 0x0350 (as in Figure 669) • FDCAN2: – start address = 0x0350 (FDCAN1 end address) + 4 = 0x0354 – end address = 0x0354 (FDCAN2 start address) + 0x0350 - 4 = 0x06A0.Addresses for FDCAN2 are clearly incorrect since this calculation (0x6A0 - 0x354 = 34C) would mean that FDCAN has only 0x34C bytes instead of 0x350.Can you please clearly list base addresses of each peripheral's message RAM?

Hi all,we would implement SBSFU (Secure Boot and Secure Firmware Update) on STM32U585.Our goals are:application do not use TrustZone feature (TZ_EN = 0)we want to avoid access to MCU on field (Device protection, for exapmle RDP = 1)question: if on field MCU is protected with RDP = 1 or 2 or whatever how could a firmware update take place? we need a regression before firmware update?at start up "mcu boot" check the security/integrity of application firmware: is that right?we want to upload the new firmware via USB connection: we think we should develop our custom bootloader. Correct?in our understading we will develop 2 projects (one project for application + bootloader and one project for mcu boot)how we could "join" the two binaries into a single one? is it possible?A possible scenario for our could be that one:user connects to our device via USB.user want to update the firmware: then from the application we start our custom bootloader.bootloader copy new firmware into a dedicate "upd
