Hello everyone,I'm currently trying to send and receive SMS with the "Adafruit FONA GSM SIM800H" module and a Nucleo-L432KC board. Initially, I tested the module with an Arduino UNO as described in the Adafruit FONA documentation, and everything worked fine—I was able to send and receive SMS messages. However, now I want to use the STM32 board.I created a new project using STM32CubeMX and configured HUART1 for the GSM module and HUART2 for serial print. The issue I'm facing is: when I send "AT\r\n" with HAL_UART_Transmit, my rx_buffer remains empty. I initially thought it could be a logic level issue, as the Arduino UNO operates at 5V and the STM32 board uses 3.3V, but even after adding a logic level converter, there is still no response to the AT command.I have connected the module’s RX to D5 and TX to D4, and I've enabled interrupts for D4.Does anyone have any ideas on what could be causing this issue or suggestions on what I could try?

I'm having an issue when using the DMA with SPI.  I'm using the SPI for a 320x240 LCD and want the DMA to help with blocking while transferring large amounts of data with touchGFX.I'm able to paint the screen one color just using the SPI but when I try to use the hdmatx I can't get it to complete and hangs on waiting for the DMA state to be READY (see below).... void ST7789v_Fill_Color(uint16_t color) { uint16_t i; ST7789v_SetWindow(0, 0, ST7789_WIDTH - 1, ST7789_HEIGHT - 1); CS_L(); uint32_t size = ST7789_WIDTH * ST7789_HEIGHT * 2; uint16_t chunk_size; uint16_t buffer[size/2]; uint8_t *buf; memset(buffer, color, sizeof(buffer)); if (size > 0) { DC_H(); LCD_WR_REG(ST7789_CMD_RAMWR); while (size > 0) { buf = (uint8_t *)buffer; chunk_size = size > 8192 ? 8192 : size; if (DMA_MIN_SIZE <= size) { if (HAL_SPI_Transmit_DMA(&hspi3, buf, chunk_size ) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); } while (hspi3.hdmatx->State != HAL_DMA_STATE_READY); } e

Hi:I now have a STM32cubeIDE project now successfully sending FDCAN messages to PCAN View running on my laptop. I'm now trying to add the emotas CANopen FD single line software stack to send CANopen messages. I can not get my program to build without errors now. I've been instructed to copy the emotas cofdlib_sl & cofddrv_sl folders from the emotas sw distribution to my project. I tried a zillion iterations of files from those folders. Has anyone out there used the emotas CANopen FD stack for any STM32CubeIDE project (preferable for H7)?Thanks,Kenny

Hello,is it possible to change the baud rate VCP to USART bridge of the STLINK-V3EC on the Nucleo STM32H7S evalboards?The documentation states the following:Virtual COM portThe serial interface UART3 (PD8/PD9) that supports the bootloader is directly available as a Virtual COM port ofthe PC connected to the STLINK-V3EC USB connector (CN5). The VCP configuration is the following:• 115200 bps• 8-bit data• No parity• One-stop bit• No flow controlSince the stand-alone STLINKs have the feature to change the baud rate of the VCP to UART bridge I was wondering if this is also possible on the STLINK-V3EC.  Best regardsBasti

I want to use the on-board RTC while all power (except VBAT which will be connected to a battery) is turned off to retain the clock.Is it possible to power the on-board RTC from VBAT and turn off ALL other supplies?What will happen after the other supplies are turned on again together with a POR?Can one of the VBAT GPIOs be used to signal an RTC event with only VBAT powered (want to use this to wakeup)?

Hi Sir,I run BLE_p2pServer example code with NUCLEO-WBA55CG board, it shows build error on STM32CubeIDE. How to fix it ?The software version I used is :STM32CubeIDE 1.17.0STM32Cube_FW_WBA_V1.5.0STM32CubeMX 6.13.0

Hello everyone,I’m using the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 expansion board, which integrates the ST25R3916B chip, to set up an NFC Tag-Reader system. Before moving forward with this implementation, I want to test the reader's full functionality. So far, I’ve been able to read and write to registers and send direct commands via SPI. I verified these operations using an oscilloscope to monitor the MISO, MOSI, and CS/NSS lines, ensuring they work correctly.The next step involves loading data into the FIFO to proceed with using the chip as a Reader. However, I’ve run into an issue: data is not being loaded into the FIFO as expected.To load data into the FIFO, I am following the SPI protocol as specified in section 4.3.3 of the chip's datasheet. I send the frame 1000 0000 (0x80), followed by a data frame that varies from 1 to 512 bytes. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to work, as no data appears in the FIFO.Similarly, when attempting to read from the FIFO using the frame 1001 1111 (0xAF), I also receiv

Hello, I see in code generated by all Linux versions of CubeIDE that USER CODE BEGIN and USER CODE END tags in infinite loop, are not in the better place.Code generated by Cude IDE: /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ while (1) { /* USER CODE END WHILE */ /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ } /* USER CODE END 3 */ } The USER CODE BEGIN WHILE is outside the loop, and the USER CODE BEGIN 3 is into the loop.I think it would be better, especially for beginner programmers, something like this: /* Infinite loop */ while (1) { /* USER CODE BEGIN WHILE */ /* USER CODE END WHILE */ } /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ /* USER CODE END 3 */Or is there some reason to generate the code like the above? Greetings

Hi   I have a STM32L433 running at 16MHz and having a strange issue.  I have setup the rtc and within the Systimer interupt I display the current time (the systimer is 1KHz and every 1000 ticks I get the second , at this point I read the clock and display on the terminal). The time is accurate , even after a few hours its still perfect. Now if I set the wakup timer to interupt every 5 seconds, it loses some ticks after the interupt.  Below is a snapshot of the terminal app. Every second the time is displayed, and at the point of ****** TIMER 5 secs ****** , this is when I set the wakeup timer. As you can see it always displays the same time twice right after the timer set . After a few timer  interupts, the time is a few seconds out.My code is as follows:1.The inisialisation routine: void InitRTC(void) { if(RTC->BKP1R!=0x1954) { if((PWR->CR1 & PWR_CR1_DBP) ==0) { PWR->CR1 |= PWR_CR1_DBP; while((PWR->CR1 & PWR_CR1_DBP)==0);

How to cancel HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMAWe are developing SPI communication devices using HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA.We would like to cancel or stop HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA even in the middle of transmission by GPIO interrupt, but we do not know how to do it.Is it possible to cancel in the middle of transmission?Also, how should I program it?

Hi to all.I'm starting a new project where we use the STM32H7S3V8H, and with the code generated with the STM32CubeMX (see IOC file attached) it compiles perfectly the Boot code but the Application code allways fail with the following error message:"cc1: error: target CPU does not support ARMv8-M Security Extensions"We don't have idea what we must do in the IOC to change this situation. Anyone knows why this error is happend? Any clue? Thanks in advance.Isidre Solé

This question is about the operation of HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA.When HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA(&hspi1 ...) is being transmitted (assumed SPI communication_A) and HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive_DMA(&hspi1 ...) is called (assumed SPI communication_B) SPI communication_A will be canceled and SPI communication_B will be executed? Or is SPI communication_B executed after SPI communication_A is completed?

I am working on the Nucleo C031C6 and struggling to use the virtual com port. The datasheet says that the virtual com port is connected to PA3 and PA2, so I want to send data to my computer with USART2. Unfortunately, I do not understand why the pins allocated are orange, and I can't access usart 2: it is in grey and permanently disabled. I do not get the problem

Hi all I am trying to run CAN communication (normal mode ) from my discovery board (STM32F407) to USB CAN analyzer via (TJA1050).I am able to see data on TJA1050 (CAN TX and RX side ) but no data is reflecting on CAN high and CAN low side, so because of no data is showing on CANH and CANL ,no data is reflecting on USB display (note: only rev led is blinking on USB CANAlyzer)what can be issue ?B.RAshishPFA attached   CAN

Hi, I have an IC which i traced back from a three phase inverter. I am trying to find the part number of the ic, but i couldn't find it. Can you help me to figure out the part number? For identification see the attached screenshot. Thanks in advance,Kevin

I have a Nucleo-F446RE and C031C6. The default code that came on the board uses the blue button to change the LED blink pattern... Is this code available? It would be very helpful to be able to see how it works.Thanks!!

I'm trying to set up CAN in the Nucleo STM32H723 eval kit, I can see the message written to the CAN RAM, but I dont see any activity on the TX pin using an oscilloscope. The CAN is configured in NORMAL_MODE, I have testes before with EXTERNAL_LOOPBACK and I can receive messages on the same board, but I want to transmit it to the bus.For now I only have the TX and RX pins, PD1 and PD0, respectively, they aren't connected to anything, not even a transceiver, nor terminating resistors but I assume I should still see something in the TX pin when I'm transmitting.The code is the following: /* Includes ------------------------------------------------------------------*/ #include "main.h" FDCAN_HandleTypeDef hfdcan1; // FDCAN1 Defines FDCAN_TxHeaderTypeDef TxHeader1; FDCAN_RxHeaderTypeDef RxHeader1; uint8_t TxData1[8] = { 85,85,85,85, 85,85,85,85 }; uint8_t RxData1[8]; /** * @brief The application entry point. * @retval int */ int main(void) { /* USER CODE BEGIN 1 */ // Conf

We are developing using STM32H743.We want to set 100MHz for SPI1 CLK and 117kHz for SPI2,3. However, we cannot set it because of "clock tree" and "maximum divisible limit is 256".Is there any way to achieve the above configuration?

About SCLK frequency for SPI communicationWe are trying to set 40MHz for SCLK.What is the maximum SCLK frequency we can set?Is there an upper limit depending on the microcontroller?

hi,    Recently I notice that toucgfx simulator screen size is twice the value set in toucgfx designer, if I want the exact pixel size set in touchgfx designer while simulating, is there a scaling factor or some function to call? thanks for your time.

Hello everyone,In my project, I am using the STM32L486VGT6 microcontroller to manage several hardware peripherals. Additionally, I plan to utilize the bootloader feature to flash the code via the USBFS interface.As we know, when the MCU enters bootloader mode, various peripherals (such as UART, SPI, USB, etc.) are enabled by default."Enable state" on these pins could be caused either by an output set to high or an input pin with a pull-up resistor enabled, and I wish to avoid both options.To better understand which ports are active and which are not, I am mapping all of the MCU’s ports. This will help me identify which I/O pins are available for use without interfering with the activation of other peripherals during bootloader mode. Furthermore, it will help avoid the risk of unintentionally supplying voltage to peripherals that do not have an active VCC.To map the MCU ports, I’ve fabricated this PCB: The PCB includes the following components:3V power supplyUSB FS interfaceSWD, Re

I currently have a product that uses the STM32WB55 microcontroller, and we have developed a phone app that has all of the user interface to the product, and it also performs OTA updates.I'm working on a new product and I'm considering the STM32WB0 series to save size and cost, but so far I'm not finding support for BLE-based OTA firmware updates.  Is there a hardware reason why this would not work?  Why are there no BLE OTA examples?   I can only find OTA update examples using the proprietary 2.4 GHz radio protocol.  This won't work for updating directly from a phone.

Hello.I am trying to migrate from stm32f407vgt6 to stm32h742vgt6, is there any difference in spi specifications?Please give me your best regards.

Good day, everyone.I'm trying to launch SPI1 under Arduino IDE. The transmission didn't work and I switched to direct control of the registers. The code used is below:  #include <Arduino.h> #include <SPI.h> void setup() { SPI.begin(); Serial1.begin(115200); } void loop() { Serial1.print("loop begin: "); Serial1.println(millis()); SPI1->CR1 &= ~SPI_CR1_SPE; SPI1->CR2 = 0; SPI1->CR1 |= SPI_CR1_SPE; SPI1->CR1 |= SPI_CR1_CSTART; while((SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_TXP) != 0) { *((__IO uint8_t *)&SPI1->TXDR) = 0xFF; Serial1.println("SPI.write"); } Serial1.print("SPI1->CR1: "); Serial1.println(SPI1->CR1, HEX); Serial1.print("SPI1->CR2: "); Serial1.println(SPI1->CR2, HEX); Serial1.print("SPI1->CFG1: "); Serial1.println(SPI1->CFG1, HEX); Serial1.print("SPI1->CFG2: "); Serial1.println(SPI1->CFG2, HEX); Serial1.print("SPI1->IER: "); Serial1.println(SPI1->IER, HEX); Serial1.print("RCC->AHB1RSTR: "
