Hallo all:I want to implement a generic counter to count the number of impulses on an input, but after debouncing.I guess that mechanical switches for human interface purposes need a debouncing in the milliseconds range, say 1 ms to 20 ms. My Systick interrupt runs every millisecond, so I can sample the input there (with an appropriate prescaler implemented in software), which should take care of debouncing. If the input comes from a clean, high-speed signal, I can use a hardware timer like TIM1 in order to count impulses on input TIM1_CH1. I can do some level of debouncing with its built-in hardware input filter, but if the signal is clean, then probably no debouncing is necessary. The trouble is at mid input frequencies. I am thinking of some signal source which is faster than switches typical for human interfaces, but not completely clean (with some bouncing). Is that a plausible scenario at all?I am using an STM32F407. I have set APB1 to its maximum speed of 42 MHz, and APB2 to 84 Mh

Hello.I have problems turning BLE on and off on STM32WB55.Many examples with BLE start with the linesMX_APPE_Config(); MX_IPCC_Init(); MX_RF_Init(); MX_APPE_Init();I do the same, and it turns on right away. I don't know how to initialize the sequencer and timeservers by themselves without BLE, so for now, I found a workaround. I turn it off using the RTC timer using the code the esteemed @FilipKremen provided mestatic void BLE_exit() { tBleStatus ret; if (BleApplicationContext.Device_Connection_Status != APP_BLE_IDLE) { ret = aci_gap_terminate(BleApplicationContext.BleApplicationContext_legacy.connectionHandle, 0x13); if (ret != BLE_STATUS_SUCCESS) { APP_DBG_MSG("aci_gap_terminate(), Failed \r\n\r"); } else { APP_DBG_MSG("aci_gap_terminate(), Successfully \r\n\r"); } } ret = aci_hal_stack_reset(); if (ret != BLE_STATUS_SUCCESS) { APP_DBG_MSG("aci_hal_stack_reset(), Failed \r\n\r"); } else { APP_DBG_MSG("aci_hal_stack_res

I am trying to use a G431 as an I2C device (slave). Unfortunately it can be made to latch up rather easily, getting stuck with an endlessly triggering I2C interrupt. It appears to be a flaw in the HAL code where it doesn't clear the interrupt flags, possibly due to its internal state machine being out of sync with reality. There are two situations that can cause this to happen. 1. The bus host (master) starts transactions back to back too quickly. Adding a 1ms delay between transactions fixes the problem.2. DMA is used for reception, but the host stops sending data early. I.e. HAL_I2C_Slave_Seq_Receive_DMA() is called with a certain buffer size, but the number of bytes sent by the host is less than that size. I thought that switching to interrupts instead of DMA might help, but it doesn't. It seems like the rate of interrupts triggering can cause the stuck-in-interrupt issue, but I have not deeply debugged it yet. It seems like a reasonable implementation of the DMA

Hi,I have just set up a fresh and clean STM32F466 project in CubeMX which makes use of a UART and a bunch of GPIOs. right after generating the code (and prior to changing ANYTHING at the generated code!), I get the following compile error in CubeIDE:c:\st\stm32cubeide_1.11.0\stm32cubeide\plugins\com.st.stm32cube.ide.mcu.externaltools.gnu-tools-for-stm32.10.3-2021.10.win32_1.0.200.202301161003\tools\arm-none-eabi\bin\ld.exe:C:\F\motion\STM32F446RETX_FLASH.ld:88: non constant or forward reference address expression for section .ARM.extabAny idea how to fix that? Thanks!

Hi,I am using a Nucleo32 F411RE to control a 2.9inch flexible E-Ink raw display panel from WaveShare. I use their circuit and a copied version of their code they have on their website. The code sends SPI commands over SPI1 of the F411RE and controls Chip Select and other gpio pins at GPIO port A. (PA1, PA2, PA3, PA4, PA5, PA6, PA7). The problem is that when using SPI1 the GPIO pins dosent change state as should. I have tried the code without SPI and can see with my oscilloscope that the pins behave as they should. When enabling SPI again the pins stop working.I am using HAL for both SPI transmit and GPIO write but have also tried direkt register manipulation for GPIO write without success.A workaround is moving all GPIOs to a other port, such as port C, and then everything works without any problem. This is however not an alternetive as my PCB already is orderd.  Why can't SPI1 and GPIOA work simultaniusly and how can I fix so that they can?

Hello, me again. So I tried to validate a file through cubeAI and ST Edge AI. But always stops by a build problem. Here is what I do with the CLI:I followed the Getting started - How to evaluate a model on STM32N6 board .First I generated the things inside the right file. Its done without any problem. Then, Because I am using the Nucleo board, I used this command.python C:\Appl\ST\STEdgeAI\2.0\scripts\N6_scripts\n6_loader.py --n6-loader-config C:\Appl\ST\STEdgeAI\2.0\scripts\N6_scripts\config_n6l.json(I tried to use the normal one without --n6-loader-config but not working, also build error, so I tried this one) And my json scripts are like this:However the out come is not right, build error:And it gives out a comic outcome: I dont know why it have such a error worning.By the GUI from CubeMX, the log is almost the same.So I have no idea why, the only reason I can think of is that I dont have a Nucleo board validation program:As you can see here, it only have a DK board proj

Yesterday, I have flashed faulty code to my STM32, and now I can't connect to it via ST-Link or the UART bootloader. I've tried using STM32 ST-Link Utility and STM32CubeProgrammer, but neither works. How can I erase the flash memory? Do I need to buy a new chip?i using stm32f103c8t6

Hi, I'm trying to connect a high speed ADC to an STM32F7. I have chained two timers to generate the necessary convert and read pulses to the ADC. Its output is 16 bits that are all connected to the same gpio block. However I would also like to setup a DMA (double buffered) transfer from GPIO input register to memory that is timed from the timer. The timer that generates the samples from the ADC to the gpio input is configured as a one shot timer with an output channel, in this case TIM1_CH1. Config for the timer is: m_rd_timer.Instance = TIM1; m_rd_timer.Init.Prescaler = prescaler; m_rd_timer.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; m_rd_timer.Init.Period = period_len; m_rd_timer.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; m_rd_timer.Init.RepetitionCounter = 8-1; m_rd_timer.Init.AutoReloadPreload = TIM_AUTORELOAD_PRELOAD_ENABLE; ocConfig.OCMode = TIM_OCMODE_PWM2; ocConfig.Pulse = pulse_len; ocConfig.OCPolarity = TIM_OCPOLARITY_LOW; ocConfig.OCNPolarity = TIM_OCNPOLARITY_LOW; ocConfig.O

Hello,I wanna read an external ADC.The ADC has following serial process conditions:1. Get a CNV signal by µC2. Convert and send BUSY=HIGH to µC3. After Convert send BUSY=LOW to µC4. µC send SCK to ADC, then ADC send data and is running as long as it gets SCK signalsThat causes, that I cannot run my SPI DMA communication in circular mode, because I have to run the CNV and BUSY process first and always de-/activate SPI (the SCK signal) after it. So I have choosen the normal mode. But the thing is I want to run the SPI communication fully at the background, also the CNV and BUSY process, that my main while function does not block the regular SPI and Convert process. This is what should be fast always. And at the main while loop I can choose, if I output the data at 100 ms rate or whatever. So I had the idea to use TIM6´s Callback function to run the CNV/BUSY/DMA-Receive-call at the background, wile the DMA-call also runs at the background.(I have tested the DMA Communication at the main whi

I am working with an ST25R3916b, utilizing the RFAL library. I am trying to work with a card that does not always send back a CRC over NFC, so I need to be able to disable the CRC RX checks dynamically. My txrx function looks like:static int st25r_nfca_rxtx_rf(const struct device *dev, uint8_t *tx_data, uint16_t tx_bitlen, uint8_t *rx_data, uint16_t rx_size, uint16_t *rx_bitlen) { LOG_DBG("Transmitting and receiving using RF interface"); ReturnCode ret; rfalTransceiveContext ctx = { .txBuf = tx_data, .txBufLen = tx_bitlen, .rxBuf = rx_data, .rxBufLen = rx_size, .rxRcvdLen = rx_bitlen, .flags = (uint32_t)((NFC_ST25R_DATA(dev)->tx_crc) ? RFAL_TXRX_FLAGS_CRC_TX_AUTO : RFAL_TXRX_FLAGS_CRC_TX_MANUAL) | (uint32_t)((NFC_ST25R_DATA(dev)->rx_crc_keep) ? Hi,I am currently working with the X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 as reader another PCB with a stm32 microcontroller and a ST25DV04K tag. I don't have access to the source code of the board with the tag but i know the used protocol to interact with it.I got everything running but sometimes it seems as if the HOST_PUT_MSG flag is set before the response is fully written. I poll for the response to be written with something like this:uint8_t waitCounter = 0; /* wait for response to be written by tag. */ while (ftmGetMessageOwner() != FTM_MESSAGE_PEER && waitCounter <= FTM_MAX_RESPONSE_WAIT_TIME) { platformDelay(1); waitCounter++; } if(waitCounter == FTM_MAX_RESPONSE_WAIT_TIME){ platformLog("Tag response timeout.\n"); return true; }But with debugging I found out that sometimes the command sent before is still in the mailbox when the message owner already changed and thus being read instead of the answer. So my question is: When is the HOST_PUT_MSG bit put? Is it put by the user or

I am using a NUCLEO-F767ZI Board.Previously I have not used or configured any GPIO. Then I used CubeMX to reconfigure 3 Pins to Inputs with Pull-Down like this: if (HAL_GPIO_ReadPin(button_uncouple_GPIO_Port, button_uncouple_Pin) == GPIO_PIN_SET) {In the code I was using a basic check like the one above. After flashing the new code to the board. The board no longer appeared as a usb device. Instead the system log reportedkernel: usb usb1-port1: over-current conditionI was able to recover access to the board by powering the board using an external 5v power supply to the E5V Port and GND. Then I could flash an older version of my code without the GPIO configured and everything is working fine again, also without the external power supply.I do not understand why the reconfiguration of the pins as input pull-down lead to this. This should not result in an increase of current usage?

Hi,I want to download an old version 3.0.1 of Nano Edge AI studio but I could not find it from the website. It directly download the new version 4.5.0. How can I reach the version 3.0.1?

Hello STM community,I have built and assembled a custom PCB board with an STM32U083CC on it. I have made 5 boards, after the first two did not work, I only populated the minimum on the other three. However, I am unable to debug or event connect to it through any means I tried, and I fear I have a systematic error in my schematic or workflow.I connect to the target over SWD, using a NUCLEO-WL55JC1 board on which I have removed both JP1 and JP7, as well as attached directly to the JP8 headers. I have independently tried using a picoprobe, which gave the same result: Seemingly no answer from the MCU, as both programs report a timeout when trying to communicate with the target. To connect I use the `st-link` utility on linux, and have attached the NUCLEO-WL55JC1 via usb.I have verified the following:- Proper MCU placement wrt to pin numbering- No shorts during soldering or after- I read through the guide for hardware development for this MCU and have the appropriate capacitors on the power

Hi Team,We are using STM32G431RBT6, we have tested the ADC1 for PA3 i.e. Channel4 with external Vref 3.3 and VDDA 3.3 with 12-bit selection and the reading we are getting with 5 to 10 counts fluctuations we are seeing but when we have changed to internal voltage ref selection for 2.048 then the PA3 i.e. Channel4 is fluctuating more than 1000 counts! but it works fine for PA0!VDDA remains same 3.3v for both our internal and external voltage. Please suggest us how to resolve this?? Thanks

Hi everyone,I'm currently designing a custom board based on the STM32F722, and I came across something I need clarification on.According to the STM32F722 datasheet, there is no device listed in the UFBGA176+25 package. However, when searching online (Buy STM32F722IEK6 - ST Online Store), I found a part labelled STM32F722IEK6.Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a dedicated pinout or ballout diagram for this specific part.I'm assuming that since the package is UFBGA176+25, the pinout would be similar (or identical) to that of the STM32F723xx series with the same package. If that assumption is correct, would it also mean that the power supply scheme should follow the STM32F723 diagrams? (i.e., including pins like VDD12OTGHS, OTG_HS_REXT, etc., which are not shown in the STM32F722 typical power scheme?)I just want to make sure before proceeding with the design. If anyone has worked with the STM32F722IEK6 in UFBGA176+25 or can confirm if it mirrors the STM32F723xx pinout and power supply desi

Hi,I'm looking for an STM32 flashing tool that runs on ARM Linux for use on an embedded board. In our setup, I have a processor and an STM32G491RET microcontroller connected via I2C. Now I need a command-line tool that can run on the processor to flash the MCU over I2C. Is there any tool available that supports this use case?

Hello,When I launch CubeMX from the CubeIDE via New Project the UI of CubeMX appears unusual. The sidebars are "Windows XP style" and there are other graphical anomalies. When I launch CubeMX from VScode the UI appears normal. The two screenshots I posted show the differences. I am wondering if maybe there is some setting in CubeIDE that may have caused this. Thanks

Hi,In the past we've always produced 'release' firmware for STM32F4 which checks the RDP level (memory read / debug protection) at boot up, and ensures it's automatically set to RDP1 (read protection enabled). This ensures that our code can't be easily read out of the device by 3rd parties, but if necessary I can connect a debugger, reset the option bytes (which performs a full erase), and reprogram the chip. This works well. We also have our own secure bootloader which deals with encrypted firmware updates and which is well supported by our production equipment and staff.I'm now working on porting a design to STM32H523, which has an enormously more complicated security system. What I've figured out so far is that:- I think the closest behaviour it's capable of would be to have TrustZone disabled, to set a password for Debug Authentication, and to have the product in the "CLOSED" state when shipped.- This would ensure the product is read protected, but it can be fully erased and set bac
