Dear Community,I am currently working on managing IGBT switching in the frequency range of 20 kHz to 60 kHz. My setup involves directly applying a PWM signal to a pulse transformer, which successfully drives the IGBT. However, I am encountering an issue where the IGBT occasionally burns out at random intervals. After reviewing some documentation, I suspect this is due to hard switching, and I understand that soft switching could improve efficiency and reliability. From my research, I learned that soft switching may involve applying a short pulse to the IGBT to initiate an LC tank oscillation, then detecting the zero-crossing point (ZCD) to synchronize the next pulse. However, I am uncertain how to implement this in a half-bridge configuration. Specifically:Implementation Method: Should I configure a PWM with complementary outputs, or can I achieve this by manually toggling two GPIOs with a controlled delay?Oscillation Synchronization: How can I effectively read the ZCD signal

Hello,I am experiencing the same issues as these individuals : https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-products/stm32h757-swo-debug-error/m-p/738531#M265220When I launch my debug with SWO enabled, I encounter errors upon launch, and if the errors are not displayed, the prints do not works, even though I have already used them on other projects with other processors and they worked.I have follow instructions to activate sw (enable two, set clock, set prescaler, use ITM console,  ...)my print function is :   int __io_putchar(int ch) { ITM_SendChar(ch); return(ch); } But I have the error, so I try lot of things,  * change cables and PC port* change my PC (Mac and Windows) (STM32CubeIDE 1.18.0)* set script to set sw register, in Debug Configurations > startup > Run commands * set by my self swo pin (see below) * do my own swo_init function called in main after GPIO init (see below)   Nothing works, can someone help me ? { GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO

I got my custom stm32F746 PCB Working!  It is based on the STM32F746G-DISCO.  So, for the first revision I used the same capacitive touch lcd used on the Disco.  So that all works!  But I need a resistive lcd, so I designed in a TSC2046IPWR controller.   I just want to connect a resistive panel and get it to function.   Not really sure best way to proceed to disable the capacitive control and add the resistive?   Any insight would be appreciated.

Hello folks,I've been having a weird issue and haven't found anyone else with the same problem, so I figured I'd post here.I have a project for the STM32H735 BLANK. The PCB has an 25 MHz external oscillator (ABM8W-25.0000MHZ-8-D1X-T3) used as the HSE.When I use the 64 MHz HSI or the 25 MHz HSE without the PLL to generate the sysclock, SWV printing works great. When I run them through the PLL (I'd like to run this with a sysclk at at around 450 MHz), even if I set up the PLL to output the same clock it is given, SWV printing fails. I do not change any other aspects of the code. aside from the sysclock source. I am not forgetting to swap the sysclock on the IDE debug settings side when changing clock settings, and I know I've correctly set up ITM otherwise because I can see it when not using the PLL. Using the debugger and breakpoints, I've verified the code runs correctly for all test cases below (or at least does to the best my knowledge).Clearly, I'm missing something. My four test cas

Hi,I am trying to create a binary image that can be run from either 0x08010000 of 0x08044000 in a STM32L476 Processor using the Keil MDK-ARM 5.42.0.0 Development environment with the armclang 6.23/6.19/5.06 (Options I have tried) compiler.I am unable to find detailed documention on how to make this work.I have found a trivial project guidelines that does not really include any of the sections needed in the scatter file.here is the trivial example: https://developer.arm.com/documentation/100748/0624/Mapping-Code-and-Data-to-the-Target/Bare-metal-Position-Independent-Executables?lang=en However, this is not detailed at all and does not describe what is and what is not supported in Compiler 6.23/6.19/5.06 Here is what I have tried with 6.23:C/C++(AC6) flags: -fbare-metal-pie,Asm flags: -fbare-metal-pie <--- argument ununsed during compilationLinker flags: --bare_metal_pie.When I do this, I see the following linker warnings/errors: linking....\OBJ\ELSA-16T_Application.axf: Warning: L608

Hi,I want to control a 4-pin DC fan (9RA1212P1K001). I need to run 3 identical fans at the same time and at the same speed. In this case, what is the difference between using 3 different channels of the same timer and connecting each to the PWM input of each fan, versus using only one channel of the timer and connecting the PWM pins of all 3 fans to that single channel?I should note that I'm powering this DC fan with an external power supply, and there's a MOSFET (AO3400) between the STM32 board's PWM-generating pin and the fan.BR

Is official rust support on the roadmap for st, or contributing dev time to open source libraries like embassy-stm?

Hi all, I'm working with a STM32 Nucleo-F439ZI board and using MATLAB Simulink (Embedded Coder + STM32 support package) to generate code and deploy to the target. I’m trying to set up serial communication (USART) between the STM32 Nucleo-F439ZI and my PC using MATLAB R2025a + Simulink + Embedded Coder. I am using the onboard ST-Link virtual COM port via USB. I’ve tried using the Serial Transmit and Serial Receive blocks in Simulink, mapped to USART3. However: No data is being received on the PC using a terminal (TeraTerm, PuTTY). I have also switched to other UARTs like USART2. Still it is not working. Are there known issues or required initialization steps when using Serial blocks in Simulink with STM32 targets?Any working example models or documentation for basic serial I/O using Simulink and STM32 boards? Thanks in advance for any help or pointers!

Hello,I made a simple USB HID keyboard with a STM32F042 in bare metal (no HAL, no LL). Everything works great. Including LEDs and media key support. The only strange thing I am observing is that windows and linux are both sending the LED report twice in a row (the second one comes directly after the minimum poll ~10ms later). The first report is always 0x01 and the second one is the actual state of the LEDs. Now I could implement a "filter" but I was wondering if this is normal behavior? Or could I have an issue in my descriptor? Thanks Kind regards

I get the following error when trying to debug an STM32H757 with SWO enabled. Failed to enable SWV configuration.Failed to execute MI command:-data-write-memory 0x5c003010 x 4 0x77etc...It would seem the debugger (ST-link v2) is not able to read the SWO and DBGMCU registers. With the same debug configuration and code, SWO works on H747 hardware, so I'm wondering if there is an SWO difference between these two micros that is not obvious or documented.Has anyone come across this issue before and has an idea of how to fix it?Thanks

Hello,    my computer is running Windows 11.    The versions of the software I'm using are CubeMX V6.0.1, MotorWorkBench V5.4.8, and Java jre1.8.0_461. Hello i'm using touch GFX with STM32H7RS-DK And i need to evaluate for a future product if display rotation is possible.I tried this implementation but drawCacheEnabled isn't reconize by software so i removed it and the widget is working but the screen flicker betwen 0 and 180° . Is there a more actual way of rotate a screen .  // Force redrawing entire screen virtual void draw(Rect& rect) { if (drawCacheEnabled) { // Invalidate entire screen instead of requested rect. Rect r(0, 0, HAL::DISPLAY_WIDTH, HAL::DISPLAY_HEIGHT); Application::draw(r); } else { // Use original rect if we are *actually* drawing and not just invalidating. Application::draw(rect); } } Thanks

Dear SupportI am new to STM32CudeIDE - just downloaded latest v1.19 and opened a new example for Nucleo-H563Zi board, SPI_FullDuplex_ComIT_Slave and its .ioc file, as soon as I opened it, it tell me there is a Clock Configuration issue and need to resolve - as it highlighted in red below, is this a bug? Please advise what i need to do in order to let it work.Regards!Ping

I'm developing a BLE central application on a NUCLEO-WB55RG board using the P2P_Client example as a base. I'm facing an issue where I can successfully pair with a peripheral, but the bonding information is never saved to non-volatile memory. Keep in mind I'm new to this field so it is very possible one of my steps in the process is wrong. The board being paired is an NRF52832 development board and the logs, which I will share later in the post, clearly state pairing was completed and bonding worked.ENVIRONMENTNUCLEO-WB55RG: CENTRALFUS Version: v2.0.0.3STACK Version: v1.22.1.1FUS Operator: v3.1.0NRF52832 Development board: PERIPHERALPROBLEM DESCRIPTIONMy application flow is as follows:Scan and discover the peripheral.Connect to the peripheral successfully.Initiate pairing using aci_gap_send_pairing_req().Receive the ACI_GAP_PAIRING_COMPLETE_VSEVT_CODE event with a success status (0x00).After I manually disconnect or reset the device, I check for bonded devices using aci_gap_get_bonded_d

Is it feasible to use the ST8500 + STLD1 configuration for modulating, demodulating, and amplifying signals, then coupling them via high-voltage film capacitors onto a cable powered by DC140 for communication? Are there any better solutions or suggestions? Thank you. *This post has been translated from Chinese to comply with the ST Community guidelines.

I bought the STEVAL-WLC99RX evaluation board for the STWLC99 Qi 1.3 compatible receiver and cannot find a location to download the GUI to program/monitor the receiver. The page that I am pointed to (https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stsw-wpstudio.html) does not exist. Thanks.

I was trying to setup the software (ST25R010) for NFC reader, and not only was I unable to setup the software but I realized the board malfunctioned at some point. The board initially worked fine but now it shows a reversed error message and I cannot reset the board. In terms of setting up the software, I was trying to update the firmware as instructed in 1.3 of the user manual. I am using windows 11 laptop with x64 architecture. I tried following Method 1 at user manual 1.3.1 but I could not find the STM32 Bootloader, so I moved on to method 2. I downloaded and installed ST Link Driver from https://www.st.com/en/development-tools/stsw-link009.html and moved the firmware file to MB1396 (the board I connected to my laptop using usb). I think this might have caused the board to show error screen but I'm not sure. Can I please get some help with 1. resetting the board/removing the error in the board, 2. Setting up the GUI software on my laptop?

Hi,What I want to implement is to receive the Input Trigger (called Ch1) signal on the rising edge in One Pulse Mode and output a PWM signal through Ch2. At the same time, I want to capture an ICP interrupt on both the rising and falling edges of Ch1 to determine whether a signal is currently being received or not on Ch1.Previously, the STM32F103 couldn't handle the One Pulse Mode Input and ICP as a single pin, so I had to split the signal between two pins in hardware. However, the MCUs I'm currently using are the STM32H723 and STM32G071.I found out that they can internally route channels, so I don't need to receive signals on two pins, but can receive them with a single pin. Is this actually possible on these two MCUs?thanks in advance.

For our NFC project, we are developing a mobile application that supports both iOS and Android. We are using React Native along with the react-native-nfc-manager library. Some of the core features include reading and writing raw memory blocks as well as handling different types of NDEF messages. At the moment, I am working with third-party NFC modules that come preloaded with an NDEF message and a CC file, and that support both NfcV and Ndef technologies. Reading and writing raw data with these modules is straightforward using NfcV transceive on Android and ISO15693Ios sessions on iOS. NDEF messages can also be read and written directly by opening an Ndef technology session. However, these modules don’t represent factory-fresh tags. To simulate a new tag with empty memory, I clear the tag’s memory using the ST NFC mobile application, which wipes both the CC file and any NDEF messages. After clearing, the tag only supports NdefFormatable technology. I am unable to format an empty tag back

Hello,I am using the discovery kit with STM32L562QE MCU (UM2617). I tried to disable the TrutZone following the instructions in this article : https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/how-to-disable-trustzone-on-stm32u5-series/ta-p/49793However, after doing Step 3 (in the article), I can no longer interact with my card. When I try to connect to it using STM32CubeProgrammer or by flashing, I always have the same error : ST-LINK error : DEV_TARGET_NOT_HALTEDI found some persons with the same problems :- https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-boards-and-hardware/st-link-error-dev-target-not-halted/td-p/278454- https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus-boards-and-hardware/error-in-initializing-st-link-device-reason-9-target-not-halted/td-p/85174But the solutions described do not seem to work for me. Here is what I've tried :- Power off / Power on- Update STLink- Set NRST to high (because there are many NRST on the board, maybe I did not set the right ones)- Switching to

Hi Team,I am working on the Class B (V2.3.0)library for the STM32H7 series. It works fine without the notifier, but when I use the notifier, the stack section gets flushed, and the runtime stack test fails. Please help me with this issue. Thank you in advance.Regards,Prakash R

Hello,I’m currently working on an application using the STM32G031xx MCU and need to ensure IEC 60730 Class B compliance for safety-critical software. I found the X-CUBE-CLASSB-G0 (v4.0.0) library and have a few questions:Is X-CUBE-CLASSB-G0 v4.0.0 the correct library to use for Class B compliance with the STM32G031xx series?Does the library already include all the required safety routines (e.g., CPU register tests, RAM tests, clock tests, stack/PC tests), or do I still need to implement additional safety code manually, such as the March-C test for RAM?Are the provided function prototypes in the library sufficient to meet compliance if I integrate and call them as recommended in the documentation, or should I modify or extend them to achieve full Class B certification? For example, the function is declared asSTL_Status_t STL_SCH_InitRam(STL_TmStatus_t *pSingleTmStatus);but there is no visible definition. Do we need to implement this function ourselves, or is the definition (including the

Hi, I am using STM32L4R9ZIJ6 with power pin connections as following image. On the same design where VREF+ pin is connected to P3V3, if I configure Vrefbuffer for ADC measurements & use Vrefbuf as 2.5V, I observe that current draw from P3V3 goes from 10mA to 20mA.I understand that it is not correct to apply external voltage at Vref+ pin when it is configured as Vrefbuffer = 2.5V. I will avoid it on final production boards. Please can you explain why this increased current draw is observed.

Hi everyone,I'm currently working with the DMA concept on an STM32H7. I'm reading data from an FIFO via SPI. My goal is to trigger the SPI DMA transfer using TIM12 TRGO, but I’m not sure where to start or how to properly configure this connection.I’m relatively new to this topic, so any guidance, examples, or tips on how to set up the timer trigger and link it to the SPI DMA would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello ST, Can you confirm if the hardware of the https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/steval-66gymai.html#overview is compatible with the https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/stm32n6570-dk.html. Can i connect them together with the FCC cable (MIPI-CSI connector) ?Is this the correct driver https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/x-cube-isp/tree/main/Middlewares/ST/STM32_Camera_Middleware/sensors/vd6g that i should use to work with the VD66GY on the STM32N6. Thank you.
