Posted on March 07, 2018 at 02:41I'm using Windows 8.1, I plug in ST LINK V2 in USB port, but I do not yet connect the other side to a target. I start ST Link utility.I go to Settings, everything looks good, it shows the serial number and FW version V2J29S7.I change the Mode to normal, the OK button becomes grayed out, so I have no other choice but to hit cancel.The settings window closes, I open settings again. Now it is saying USB Communication Error! I hit refresh, doesn't make a difference. Also under serial number it now says 'Old ST-LINK firmware/ST-LINK already used'.Next I unplug the ST LINK V2, then click on Refresh. Now it says 'No ST-LINK detected !', I plug ST LINK V2 back in.I click refresh and now it looks all correct again (as stated above). I change Mode back to 'connect under reset', and now it is saying the USB communication error again.My problem is that I have issues connecting to a target but I'm having issues even without the target, so I don't know if the proble

Posted on March 09, 2018 at 18:17Hi, i'm making some board with a STM32F042F6P6. Today i solder the board, i connected it with the USB cable but windows doesn't see it. Where am I wrong? Do i need to buy a ST-Link V2 Programmer? how do I connect it to the pins for the st link?Thanks.. and sorry for bad english (google translate) and sorry again for the ignorance, it is the first time I use these STM.This is the board

Posted on March 13, 2018 at 14:53I have a NUCLEO-L4R5ZI and it came with a demo application that 1) flashes the LED and changes that with the button and 2) acts as a USB storage device.I am sorry if this is a daft question but where can I find the source code to this application? I have downloaded the AC6 Workbench to my Mac and also something called STM32Cube. I have unfortunately not been able to find this code, as I would very much like to compile it myself in Workbench.#l4r5zi #demo-application

Posted on March 12, 2018 at 17:10Hi -- I use 2016b Matlab version with STM32F429ZI nucleo board. I am tring to use External mode with simulink, I followed the example and the instructions decribed in ''the MAT/TARGET instruction (Hands On, Rev 2.2, Page 86-105). I follow all procedure mentioned on MAT-Target PDF, but when I begin connecting my model to the target this error message occurred (Picture below): ''Error occurred while executing External Mode MEX-file 'ext_comm': Failed to connect to the target. Possible reasons for the failure:  a) The target is not switched on.  b)The target is not connected to your host machine.  c) The application for the model is not running on the target.  You might have clicked the Stop button. If the Run button is not dimmed, click it. Otherwise, click the Build button, which downloads and runs your application on the target.Any help for solving this issue please ? #stm32-mat/target-matlab #simulink

Posted on February 03, 2018 at 08:27I have created a project for stm32f103c8t6 with RTC support and selected 'generate peripheral init as a pair of .c and .h file', toolchain is TrueSTUDIO. It worked nice before the last update. After update to version 4.24 in rtc.c file I see the following mess:/* Includes ------------------------------------------------------------------*/&sharpinclude 'rtc.h'&sharpn&sharpn/* USER CODE BEGIN 0 *//* USER CODE END 0 */RTC_HandleTypeDef hrtc;&sharpn/* RTC init function */void MX_RTC_Init(void){&sharptRTC_TimeTypeDef sTime;&sharptRTC_DateTypeDef DateToUpdate;&sharpn&sharpt&sharpt/**Initialize RTC Only &sharpn&sharpt&sharpt*/&sharpthrtc.Instance = RTC;&sharptif(HAL_RTCEx_BKUPRead(&hrtc, RTC_BKP_DR1) != 0x32F2){&sharpthrtc.Init.AsynchPrediv = RTC_AUTO_1_SECOND;&sharpthrtc.Init.OutPut = RTC_OUTPUTSOURCE_NONE;&sharptif (HAL_RTC_Init(&hrtc) != HAL_OK)&sharpt{&sharpt&sharp

Posted on March 03, 2018 at 13:24HelloI would like to program a stm32vldiscovery from Linux.Unfortunately, the board has a STLink V1 embedded. Is it possible to upgrade a STLink to STLink/V2?Or is it possible to directly flash the board with an external STLink/V2?BestsCedric

Posted on March 12, 2018 at 18:30Hello,I have a system using the CAN bus with a STM32F303 talking to a motor controller and a STM32F722 silently monitoring the F3 / motor controller communications.  It seems to work relatively reliably.While bringing up the system, I noticed that sometimes the F3 would send a command and then unexpectedly that command would be repeated on the bus a bazillion times about as fast as is possible on the CAN bus.  I'd need to reset the F3 to stop the TX repeats.   I suspect there's a wiring or terminating resistor issue but am not exactly sure at this point. Is continued TX retries typical CAN modality when a TX fails?  If so, is this configurable in the HAL CAN implementation?Thanks.

Posted on March 12, 2018 at 14:48Hi,   Thank you for reading my question.   I always get the same values of x,y and z for using FIFO mode on LIS2DH12. The x, y and z values will change for each interrupt of WTM, but the three values are the same.  My configurations are represent as yellow mark at following table I'm using I2C and  SDO is connected GND. I can get the correct WHO_AM_I value (0x33) . I also checked the registers after I set them and they are correct. I also can receive the interrupt of INT1 for reading x, y and z, but the valuesare not correct. The value of FIFO_SRC_REG is 0x00 before I read x, y and z.    Could you help me to check the configuration for startup and reading FIFO buffer procedure?Best Regards,AllenMy initialization is: if(LIS2DH12_getRegisterValue(LIS2DH12_WHO_AM_I_ADDR) == LIS2DH12_WHO_AM_I_DEF) {LIS2DH12_setRegisterValue(LIS2DH12_CTRL_REG1_ADDR, LIS2DH12_ODR_SELECTION(LIS2DH12_bandWithCode) | LIS2DH12_OU

Posted on February 19, 2018 at 02:05As the title says, I am using an STM32F072BDISCOVERY board and I am trying to implement input capture using timer 3. My input is a PWM signal with a 10% duty cycle, frequency = ~50Hz on port A pin 6. I am trying to generate an interrupt on both rising and falling edges, as well as an interrupt on counter reset (upcounting), I am clocking the counter with a period of 1us. I am only using CMSIS register definitions, no other HALs.I configure clocks as follows:RCC->APB1ENR |= RCC_APB1ENR_TIM3EN;RCC->AHBENR |= RCC_AHBENR_GPIOAEN;I configure GPIO as follows:GPIOA->MODER = (GPIOA->MODER & (~(GPIO_MODER_MODER6))) | GPIO_MODER_MODER6_1;GPIOA->AFR[0] |= 0x1000000;I configure TIM3 as follows:    TIM3->CCMR1 |= TIM_CCMR1_CC1S_0;    TIM3->CCER |= TIM_CCER_CC1E | TIM_CCER_CC1P | TIM_CCER_CC1NP;    TIM3->DIER |= TIM_DIER_CC1IE | TIM_DIER_UIE;    TIM3->PSC = 0x7;

Posted on March 07, 2018 at 00:16Why CubeMX 4.24 says that PB12 conflicts with USB_OTG_HS when external HS PHY is not is use?The MCU is F446ZCT, its USB HS core is in FS, host only mode, Activate_SOF and Activate_VBUS unchecked.PB12 can have two alternate functions for USB HS core - but both are related only to HS mode, correct?So why conflict with the PHY in FS internal PHY mode?(and, by the way, what does ''Activate_VBUS'' in host mode? I use a different output pin to switch VBUS to the port).Thanks,-- pavel#usb-fs #cubemx-v4.24

Posted on March 06, 2018 at 17:49Hello,I have been using the STM32L1 Discovery Kit with the STM32L152RCT6 MCU. A project that I am working on requires me to output two PWM signals. One of these is a 100KHz square wave and the other is 5MHz square wave. I have gotten the 100KHz wave to work correctly, however I am unable to generate a 5MHz pwm from my board. I am using Timers 4 and 11 currently to generate these two signals and the code is as follows:/* TIM3 init function */static void MX_TIM3_Init(void){TIM_ClockConfigTypeDef sClockSourceConfig; TIM_MasterConfigTypeDef sMasterConfig; TIM_OC_InitTypeDef sConfigOC;htim3.Instance = TIM3; htim3.Init.Prescaler = 2; htim3.Init.CounterMode = TIM_COUNTERMODE_UP; htim3.Init.Period = 2; htim3.Init.ClockDivision = TIM_CLOCKDIVISION_DIV1; if (HAL_TIM_Base_Init(&htim3) != HAL_OK) { _Error_Handler(__FILE__, __LINE__); }sClockSourceConfig.ClockSource = TIM_CLOCKSOURCE_INTERNAL; if (HAL_TIM_ConfigClockSource(&htim3, &sClockSourc

Posted on March 10, 2018 at 18:41Hi all. I am using an STM32F767VGT6 in a custom board. I am trying to use TIM1 to generate four independent PWM output pulses on each of its CH1 - CH4 output pins.I have successfully implemented this elsewhere in my system using one channel only, CH1, on TIM10. My TIM1 Timer init code is almost identical, yet I cannot get the PWM pulses to appear on the PB9, PB11, PB13 and PB14 pins.If I switch on the TIM1 Update and CC interrupts and poke the pins in the interrupt handlers, I can get the correct waveforms, but I shouldn't have to do that, the TIM1 peripheral should change the pins by itself with no interrupts needed.So I know the pins, when set as regular GPIO pins, and also the board, all work. The problem is that when I set those pins to be GPIO_AF1_TIM1 and switch off the interrupts which are not needed for any other purpose, I don't get any PWM waveform on any of those CH1 - CH4 pins.Apart from the fact that TIM1 is an advanced timer with lots of

Posted on March 06, 2018 at 21:19Hi,I have a couple of questions. Is there somewhere to download the STVD9 development software? Also, is the ST9 still in production, and if so, what distributors have any stock?Thanks!

Posted on March 08, 2018 at 04:58First of all, Thanks for the help from community. I hope I could be more helpful, more healthy and strong.I saw many questions were answered but the author don't mark correct. Some of the thread were many years ago.If they had marked the answer.It would be helpful for me and other members of the community to find the answer quick.

Posted on March 08, 2018 at 15:22I attended the STM8-32 hands on day in Cambridge in Feburary 2018.I have been repeating or doing the exercises that we did on the day but I have been unable to program the target STM32F072RB nucleo board in three of the four examples. Unfortuately my PC needed to restart on the day then it would not restart so although I had all the programmes and packs installed and had completed the first project but not as far as running ST-link.I have partly repeated the exercise on another PC unsuccessfully. So it does not apear to be a bad installation issue?In three of the exercises this is what is reaported after I press debug;Load 'C:\\Users\\Owner\\Google-Drive\\STM32_Work\\STM32_hands_on_1\\Objects\\STM32_hands_on_1.axf' No Algorithm found for: 08000000H - 0800038BH Erase skipped! Posted on October 25, 2017 at 23:12Folks -Just updated to STM32Cube_FW_L4_V1.10.0 and STM32CubeMX v4.23.  I can see the B-L475E-IOT01 discovery board and all its' files in the L4 package. I can also select the STM32L475VGTx MCU from the STM32CubeMX but can NOT see the discovery board.  (Would really like to have all the pins pre-configured!)  Am I missing something?cheers,-jim r

Posted on March 06, 2018 at 17:23Hi all,I'm developing an application (PROJECT) for a STM8S208RB (128k flash) that was using around 100kB of flash. Posted on October 28, 2017 at 21:35I'm trying to compile a project generated using STM32CubeMX for MDK-ARM but the compiler gives the following error: port.c(483): error: A1586E: Bad operand types (UnDefOT, Constant) for operator (everytime I enable the 'FreeRTOS' option in CubeMX. Initially, and after generating the code from CubeMX, everything compiles without an issue, but as soon as I start to add some source files to the project, the compiler starts to complain about that error in port.c file. Removing the newly added sources with their include paths doesn't help solve the issue. It's just like if something corrupts the FreeRTOS port sources and it won't go away until I disable the 'FreeRTOS' option then re-enable it and generate the code again. Upgrading to the latest STM32CubeMx with the latest firmware packages for my device did not help, as well! #configmax_syscall_interrupt_priority #stm32f4-freertos-port.c(483):-error:-a1586e:-bad-operan

Posted on April 27, 2017 at 06:18Hi all,I met a strange problem that if I input something via a terminal before I call HAL_UART_Receive(); It will always timeout.
