I am using DFU to load my application code in to target board, I can be able to convert application build in to dfu build and also be able to load using DfuSe tool in to my target board.I want to enable the ROP (level-1) in STM32, for that I need to change the default value of option bytes, Can anyone know how to modify the default value of option bytes for STM32 uC/chip using DFU.

Posted on January 10, 2017 at 21:30 Hi, I didn't find any report posted about this issue so here we are. There is a stupid bug in the implementation of HAL_I2C_Mem_Read()@STM32Cube_FW_F4_V1.0/Drivers/STM32F4xx_HAL_Driver/Src/stm32f4xx_hal_i2c.c. The 'Size' parameter is supposed to be used only to initialize the transfer size, but it is also misused during the transfer to check the number of bytes left for reading (see the marked line in the code below). In result if in the last loop iteration there are 2 bytes left, code block expecting 3 bytes on the bus could be executed and the function hangs (till the timeout event, not shown here). HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_I2C_Mem_Read(I2C_HandleTypeDef *hi2c, uint16_t DevAddress, uint16_t MemAddress, uint16_t MemAddSize, uint8_t *pData, uint16_t Size, uint32_t Timeout) { /*....*/ /* Prepare transfer parameters */ hi2c->pBuffPtr = pData; hi2c->XferCount = Size; hi2c->XferOptions = I2C_NO_OPTION_FRAME; hi2c->XferSize = hi

Hi, for my thesis i'd like to do an hexapod(it'll have like 14 servos) and a camera for facial recognizer. I was thinking about an arduino for the control of the robot and a pi3 for the facial recognizer, and then stm32 came to me. Will I be able to do the previously presented with just a STM microcontroller or microprocessor, if it's possible which one would be?Thanks in advance.

Hello everyone!I have 2 fixed PWM of 40kHz (TIM1_CH1, TIM1_CH1N) and one modulation at 80 kHz fitted into the others, matching the steps by zero.Instead of this, I have this signals:There is a gap between them of 1us.This is the timers declaration: void TIM1_3config(void){ TIM_OCInitTypeDef TIM_OCInitStructure; TIM_BDTRInitTypeDef TIM_BDTRInitStructure; NVIC_InitTypeDef NVIC_InitStructure; // Enable the TIM1 Interrupt NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannel = TIM1_UP_IRQn; NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelPreemptionPriority = 0; NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelSubPriority = 1; //menos prioritat que TIM1(PWM) NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelCmd = ENABLE; NVIC_Init(&NVIC_InitStructure); NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannel = TIM3_IRQn; NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelPreemptionPriority = 0; NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelSubPriority = 2; //menos prioritat que TIM1(PWM) NVIC_InitStructure.NVIC_IRQChannelCmd = ENABLE; NVIC_Init(&NVIC_InitStructure);

I am using STM32F103C8 board and CubeMX to create the code. I have connected the M66 to STM32 to UART2 port. I try to send some commands to Quectel M66 via STM32's UART port. It receives the command but throws some junk characters. I have set the baud rate as 9600 for all UART ports. This is my codevoid M66_Check() { char *buffer = "ATI\r\n"; char *rec_buffer = NULL; rec_buffer = (char*)malloc(200 * sizeof(char)); if(HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart2,buffer,strlen(buffer),200) == HAL_OK) { printf("AT Command sent successfully\r\n"); HAL_Delay(1000); } else { printf("Not Sent\r\n"); } HAL_UART_Receive(&huart2,rec_buffer,50,200);   printf("About to print Response from M66 \r\n"); HAL_Delay(2000);   printf(rec_buffer); }

I have a setup with a STM32L452 Nucleo-64, and has connected a CAN transceiver to it. This is in turn connected to a CANDO dongle to a PC. With the current setup I'm currently able to transmit data from the STM32 to the PC with no fail. The reception on the STM32 however does not work.I have measured the traffic on the CAN RX to pinout with an oscilloscope and the data seems to be there just as expected. Yet it is not picked up by the CAN interface on the STM32.I have tried both using a callback and polling to see whether the RX fifo ever gets any data, but that is not the case.I have also tried watching the CAN1_RX0_IRQHandler to see if it ever gets triggered, which I understand it should when data is received, yet it does not.I dont really know how to go forward from here, so any help would be appreciated.

Posted on September 28, 2017 at 16:47Hello everyoneYesterday i buy a Nucleo-F746ZG, i installed SW4STM32, ST-LINK/V2 Drivers and http://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/products/embedded-software/mcus-embedded-software/stm32-embedded-software/stm32cube-embedded-software/stm32cubef7.html examples, first of all i try the Demonstration firmware and all was good.Finally i decide to try the Uart Example and here start the problems, i download on the board the firmware using SW4STM32 and the usb cable, then i try to read the messages with several terminals (Termite, Hyperterminal, Putty) but i not see any message(i also try to reset it using push button on the board but nothing), using the oscilloscope on the TX and RX lines on the CN5 connector i see a fixed 3.3 V.I make something wrong? any idea about the problem?Thank's for the attention and for the help #nucleo-f746 #example #uart #problem

Working on a basic UDP Echo server with STM32F429ZI. I had CubeMX add lwIP into the project, but its doesn't seem to receive any packets when I send them. DHCP seems to work as I can see an IP getting assigned on the router. void udp_echoserver_receive_callback(void *arg, struct udp_pcb *upcb, struct pbuf *p, struct ip_addr *addr, u16_t port) {   /* Connect to the remote client */ udp_connect(upcb, addr, UDP_CLIENT_PORT);   /* Tell the client that we have accepted it */ udp_send(upcb, p);   /* free the UDP connection, so we can accept new clients */ udp_disconnect(upcb);   /* Free the p buffer */ pbuf_free(p);   }   /** * @brief Initialize the server application. * @param None * @retval None */ void udp_echoserver_init(void) { struct udp_pcb *upcb; err_t err;   /* Create a new UDP control block */ upcb = udp_new();   if (upcb) { /* Bind the upcb to the UDP_PORT port */ /* Using IP_ADDR_ANY allow the upcb to be used by any loca

How can I check the revision of the m7 core without checking the registers?The revision r0p0 and r0p1 have a problem. When debugging  jump to a timer interrupt or debug sequence is bad.So I would like to know how to check revision in advance when buying m7 core.

I'm reading AN3411, and section 4.4 details how to compute the values for the time stamp unit registers.It shows two equations under Equation 1:tick = ((increment * 10^9) / 2^31) and the other is corrupted (typo?): Adden(d * increment) = 2^63/SysClkI *think* it's saying addend (increment) = 2^63 / SysClk.It then goes on to make a statement that has no logic leading to it: "For example, if SysClk is 72MHz, we can chose tick approximately 20ns"How can we determine what tick should be? The period for 72MHz is 13.9ns. I don't understand how the app note comes to choose the value of tick. The remaining text in this section just uses that 20ns value to calculate increment without explaining why you would choose a tick value of 20ns nor how to determine a value of tick for other SysClk frequencies.I've ported the example code found on github to work with STM32F756, and while it appears to be working, there is a fixed offset of 500ms (yes milliseconds) from the grandmaster clock. The actual va

I had to create some register variables and inline assembler to enforce use of the M7's SMLAL instruction and now keep getting the warning several times per compile :warning: optimization may eliminate reads and/or writes to register variables [-Wvolatile-register-var]Is it possible to mute just this particular warning ? I went to the Files->Properties->Warnings page and there are various tickboxes but I can't see a way to mute a particular warning.

Hi,I'm writing a bootloader, the application binary is read from a SD card connected via SDIO and will be written into the SECTOR 2 of the micro controller (starts at 0x8008000 == APP_ADDRESS), the bootloader is stored in SECTOR 0 and SECTOR 1, starting from 0x8008000.Here is the code where i erase from SECTOR 2 to SECTOR 7 and then try to program DWORDs (uint64_t) starting from 0x8008000, the SECTORs are erased successfully.The problem i'm facing is that HAL_FLASH_Program doesn't returns, while trying to debug the problem i notices the data isn't being written into the selected Address and then the status is set to HAL_ERROR in FLASH_WaitForLastOperation inside the HAL_FLASH_Program function./* ***: Step 1: Init bootloader and Flash */ DBG_println("Step 1: Init bootloader and Flash");   /* ***: Step 2: Erase Flash */ DBG_println("Step 2: Erase Flash"); { /* Unlock the FLASH control register access */ HAL_FLASH_Unlock();   __HAL_FLASH_CLEAR_FLAG(FLASH_FLAG_EOP | FLASH_FLAG_

Can someone please clarify if the IN endpoint FIFOx transmit RAM start address part of OTG_DIEPTXFx register should be "word address" or "byte address aligned to 32-bit boundary".We are currently treating this as "word address", inline with what STM32CubeMx does and also libopencm3 USB stack. But, we are having some issues with FIFO corruption and suspect IN endpoint FIFOx transmit RAM start address is not "word address" as it is not explicitly specified as word address anywhere else in reference manual.I have also attached the snapshot of the register description from STM32L476 reference manual can someone please confirm what is correct?

What's the difference between Live Expressions and SWV Data Trace? Are they both realtime?Do both of them put a load on MCU processor?Can I use Live Expressions with MCUs which do not provide SWO pin like CortexM0?

Dear ALLI got an problem when i use STM32F429 standby mode.In the first time enter the standby mode it woks fine. I use PA0-WAUP pin to exit the standby mode. But, i make another try to enter the standby mode, it immediate reset。It is seems it entered the mode ok, and immediate exit from the mode. I have no ideal about it.Here is my code to enter the standby mode if(uxBits & BIT_0)  {   UART_PutStr(UART_1,"接收到BIT0被设置的消?\r\n");      HAL_PWR_EnableWakeUpPin(PWR_WAKEUP_PIN1);        HAL_PWR_EnterSTANDBYMode();}BYW, i use FreeRtos, and i put the code in a Take with and EverntBit been set

A bug in cubemx hal lib，a file named "stm32l4xx_hal_adc.h" in the STM32Cube_FW_L4_V1.13.0 ,in code line 518.#define ADC_EXTERNALTRIG_T4_TRGO     (LL_ADC_REG_TRIG_EXT_TIM4_CH4) make sure as #define ADC_EXTERNALTRIG_T4_TRGO     (LL_ADC_REG_TRIG_EXT_TIM4_TRGO)

Hi All;I found the problem with 1us. I use this function belowstatic void DelayMicroSeconds(uint32_t uSec) { uint32_t uSecVar = uSec; uSecVar = uSecVar* ((SystemCoreClock/1000000)/3); while(uSecVar--); }I will show result belowMy evolution board for test.In keil use this function at 30uSIn STM32CubeIDE use same function at 30uSAnyone Who can help me about delay in microsecond?Thank you,Best regards.

Suppose I have the following code snippet:void some_func() { int data = GPIOA->IDR; if (data == 0x01) func1(); else if (data == 0x02) func2(); }If optimization is turned on, I would expect the compiler to remove variable data and replace both occurrences of data with GPIOA->IDR -- which is clearly different from the original code.Hence my question if GPIOA->IDR is defined as volatile. And if it is, is this sufficient to prevent this "optimization", or does variable data need to be volatile as well?(My IDE would not jump to the declaration of GPIOA->IDR.)

I noted that when I call HAL_GPIO_DeInit is called (stm32h7xx_hal_gpio.c v1.4.0) the wrong External Interrupt get's de-initialized. After investigating further and comparing to the previous version I noted the following in the external interrupt de-init block: Everywhere the pin mask:0x0FUL << (8U * (position & 0x03U)) appears, it should be changed to: 0x0FUL << (4U * (position & 0x03U))like it was originally.   /*------------------------- EXTI Mode Configuration --------------------*/   /* Clear the External Interrupt or Event for the current IO */   tmp = SYSCFG->EXTICR[position >> 2U];   tmp &= (0x0FUL << (8U * (position & 0x03U))); // <-- Incorrect Here   if (tmp == (GPIO_GET_INDEX(GPIOx) << (8U * (position & 0x03U)))) // <-- Incorrect Here   {    tmp = 0x0FUL << (8U * (position & 0x03U)); // <-- Incorr

Hello! I am starting my activities with the Demonstration Board MB1054A CR95HF and according to what I understand it is only possible to write in a block of 4 bytes, I wonder if there is how to write in only 1 byte?Detail: mine NFC tag is ST25DV04K.Regards, João Pedro, Engineering Student from Brazil.

My question concerns the ZYXDA status bit of STATUS_REG (27h)If I'm reading data out at a significantly lower rate (e.g. 25Hz) than the device is internally generating data (100Hz) is there any need to monitor this status bit?Asked another way, Can I asynchronously read back from the device as long as I'm doing so slower than the device is converting? Or alternatively, is the last conversion buffered?- I'm not at all concerned about data over-runs.The data sheet implies there may be a loss of precision if you don't stay synchronized with the conversion process. I just don't have the resources to poll that data available bit continuously.NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us.
