Hello I have a question about writing hex file in MCU (STM32F767xx) without a development board.I want to draw my PCB schematic but I am confused about which pins are used to flash the memory.I tried finding it on the datasheet but with no luck. Could you please give me directions ?Also, datasheet claims that on boot-up the MCU uses internal RC oscillator and switches to external one if software commands to. So can I exclude external oscillator and stick with that one only without any major issues ?

I can't seem to find this in the datasheet or reference manual. The GPIO OSPEED register is documented as 00: Low speed, 01: Medium speed, 10: High speed, 11: Very high speed. But what are the actual frequencies? I can't seem to locate the information after looking for it for some time.

Hello everyone,I read many of the posts on the forum and couldn't find an answer to this question: is there any way to start timers in one pulse mode other than through an external stimulus? that is, only through software? How could it be done?I am looking for a way to control a three-phase full-wave rectifier and the trigger for the thyristors is exactly the one pulse format, being necessary only to adjust the period (delay + pulse) for the duration of a semicycle. The 6 initial pulses will be controlled in this way and the rest will be controlled in the same way, using another timer for 30 degree lag. Is it doable? if not, what would be the best way to do this control? how would the time difference between the phases be during the timer control? The question is due to the fact that the current hardware provides zero crossing inputs on pins that are not suitable for One Pulse mode, so I will use interrupts for these signals (thus the need to start timers in One Pulse mode by software)

Hi -I have a STM32429I-EVAL board. Before I start mucking about with it, I would like the original firmware file (bin or hex file). I may want to go back to the original demo fw at some point. Here is the system info:Demo Rev: 1.4.5Board: STM324x9ICore: STM32F429Thanks-Mary

Hi folksI'd like to ask about STM32H750B-DK. This a demo board based on the Value Line STM32H75O with 128kB Flash and 1 MB RAMI saw its demo movie on the YouTube and would like to understand whether it runs from the Flash or RAM? Or in other words , did ST implement and provide with this board demo an external loader that program a new software into a serial Flash that is loaded to RAM upon reset and then the program runs from RAM?Or, does this demo run from QSPI? Or maybe the demo sw is small enough to run from Flash (128kB)?Thank you !

I may be exceptionally dumb, but I can't find in the STTS22H DS, how can the measured temperature be determined from the values read from the temperature registers. What am I missing?JW

Hi everyone!I'm pretty new with STM32 microcontroller and STM environment. Now I'm playing with a Nucleo-H745ZI board and developing using STM32CubeIDE. This board is equipped with the st-link V3. It should be able to use both SWO and JTAG interface to program and debug STM32 MCUs.I was tryng to use JTAG instead of SWO (wich is the default debug configuration) but I have this error: Error: No STM32 target found!ST-LINK error (DEV_CONNECT_ERR)I've also tried with the STM32CubeProgrammer software, same error. What i do wrong? Thanks :)

I see the on-line tutotrial-style documentation. I see the doxygen-generated details. Is there any documentation that describes how it actually works? What is the architecture? What calls what? What are the operations inside the binary library? The real challenge, for me, is making a GUI-centric design model work in an electro-mechanical control system. The GUI is then ancillary to the important operations of the system. The business logic needs to be outside the GUI code. The documentation I've found doesn't show how drive the GUI externally. The "interactions" are 99% outside of the GUI.

Hi everyone,Can I assign, for example, UART to Cortex M4 runtime context, and generate appropriate device tree files for STM32MP1, and then after boot, reassign UART to Cortex A7 runtime context somehow? Best regards, Nenad

Hi,the meaning of the PLS[2:0] bits in the PWR_CR2 register is not yet documented in the RM0440 Rev2, they're marked "TBD" (see screenshot attached). Could you provide the mapping of thresholds levels? Thanks a lot!Regards,Matthias

I've designed a board with stm32G431 MCU (i will include schematic if necessary) and now trying to test how it works. I am using CMSIS for programming and wrote the most simple blink program (LEDs are on PB3-6):#include "stm32g431xx.h"   void delay(uint32_t time);   uint32_t someVar = 0;   int main(void) {   RCC->AHB2ENR |= RCC_AHB2ENR_GPIOBEN;   GPIOB->MODER &= ~0x00003FC0; GPIOB->MODER |= 0x0001540; GPIOB->ODR |= 0x0078;   while ( 1 ) { delay(300000); GPIOB->ODR ^= 0x0078;   someVar += 1;   } }   void delay(uint32_t time) { for ( uint32_t i = 0; i < time; ++i ); }And when I debug it. It works just fine, but after I hit reset it doesn't work anymore. I checked with st-link utility. The program is still in flash. Can anyone explain what is going on and how to fix it?

Hi,I am struggling Struggling with TouchGFX Generated Code Building on STM32Cube IDE.I am working on below setup:Software Tool Chain:STM32CubeMX 5.6.0TouchGFX 4.13.0 DesignerSTM32CubeIDE 1.3.0Hardware:STM32F746G-DISCO (Discovery Board)I have created GUI on TouchGFX 4.13.0. worked fine on simulator and Discovery Board as well.I am doing as below :Open TouchGFX:1. File->New2. Select Application Template STM32F746G Discovery Kit3. Select UI Template -> Blank UI4. Name the project TestHardware and Click Create5. Add a Red box that fills with rectangle and the entire canvas.6. Add a button that I can click7. Click Generate Code8. Click Run TargetThis does work, and I get the desired Red box and single button that I can click. When I am trying to Open In STM32CubeIDE 1.3.0 and Import as per below:C:\TouchGFXProjects\TestHardware\STM32CubeIDEBinary File Created in Too Large ..1) STM32F746G_DISCO.bin        2.12 GBSTM32F746G_DISC

Page 1186, just above Table 264, it says: "Table 264 lists the internal sources connected to the tim_etr input multiplexer"It should say tim_itr:"Table 264 lists the internal sources connected to the tim_itr input multiplexer"

Hi.Is it possible to re-use some of the screens of previously developed TouchGFX project ?I have tried the option of importing the GUI but it overwrites my current project. Please share your thoughts or suggestions.Regards,Shree

I'm trying to enable the OB_RDP_Level_1 for a STM32L151CC but It fails. The MCU becomes bricked. I can't even boot to DFU. I need to first start ST link utility and set read out protection level 0, and then do a chip erase. But I noticed that bit OPTVERR = 1 indicating that the option bytes are faulty. I have tried a fulle chip erase and it does not set the OPTVERR to zero. Is it possible that I have a special STM32 that always start up with OPTVERR = 1? I have tested on some evaluation boards and they have OPTVERR = 0 at start.

I found out today that my project was not properly configured. So i did run out of flash memory.By comparing with a Designer project I found out how to change the FLASH.ld file to use QuadSPI and some other things that were different in the Designer project regarding QuadSPI.But my program crashes again and again in the function void touchgfx::Texts::setLanguage(touchgfx::LanguageId id).Is there something like a tutorial on how to configure TouchGFX + QuadSPI in CubeIDE?Regards,Kevin

In my project, which uses FatFs and a couple of peripherals, I always used a heap size of 0x100 bytes, with no apparent problems. After activating the USB Host for HID Class, I increased the heap size to 0x2000 bytes (8 KB), but still the USBH_malloc call for 52 bytes in USBH_HID_InterfaceInit() fails, i.e., returns NULL.USBH_malloc seems defined as plain malloc, but alas, I cannot debug into the malloc function. The heap section in the linker file is_Min_Heap_Size = 0x2000; /* required amount of heap */ ... /* User_heap_stack section, used to check that there is enough "RAM" Ram type memory left */ ._user_heap_stack : { . = ALIGN(8); PROVIDE ( end = . ); PROVIDE ( _end = . ); . = . + _Min_Heap_Size; . = ALIGN(8); } >RAMat the end of the declarations. The map file shows the position of the heap as intended:... 0x0000000020019848 __bss_end__ = _ebss   ._user_heap_stack 0x0000000020019848 0x2000 load address 0x0000000000217308 0x0000000020019848 . = ALIGN (0x8) 0x000000

Greetings embed ProfessionalsRecently taken onto STM32 and getting along quite well so far! Regretting for not having done so earlier so plenty of catch up and "learning to do" (ps. mechanical engineering background here). Learning in particular; I'd like to investigate how professionals would go about implementing an optimized data bus for lower end mcu (e.g. STM32F1x/budget limitations). Below is what I have coded so far, which works great btw, however I feel the performance is quite lacking, something, somewhere. Is there any other way(s) I could get 16-bit across faster???ps. The #define DATAOUT(i) seems to be the bottleneck Thanks for any recomendation/alternative ways you may have, I'd sincerely appreciate a hand//LCD.H #define DATAOUT(i) { \ GPIOA->BSRR = 0b0001000011111111 << 16; \ GPIOA->BSRR = (((i) & (1<<0)) << 0) \ | (((i) & (1<<1)) << 0) \ | (((i) & (1<<2)) << 0) \ | (((i) & (1<<3)) << 0

Hi,I have a NUCLEO L552 and I would like to run a very simple program (just blinking a led).I have placed my vector table @ 0x08040000 as described by the data sheet. to program the flash I use the J-Link from Segger. What is strange, is that I cannot execute my program. Now, if I use Ozone from Segger, I can execute it, but when I power off-on the target, the program does not run anymore; again, Ozone can execute it. Probably, Ozone disables some protections ... any idea of what I have to add to my code to run in a non secure mode and make my code always executable?

Hi,I'm trying to utilise the built-in UART bootloader in the STM32F031K6 to perform firmware update. I've read the AN3155 and AN2606 documentation but unfortunately, I'm out of luck so far when trying to write the firmware via the bootloader to the target MCU's internal flash. What I've got working so far:I can communicate successfully over the UART interface to the bootloaderThe GET command response indicates the bootloader protocol version is 3.1 and the following commands are supported:0x01 (Get Version & Read Protection Status)0x02 (Get ID)0x31 (Write Memory)0x73 (Write Unprotect)0x92 (Readout Unprotect)The GET ID command response indicates the PID is 0x401The following is not working for me:I send the "write memory" command and checksum, e.g. 0x31, 0xCEI receive the ACK, e.g. 0x79I send the 4 byte start address and checksum, e.g. 0x08, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x08I expected to receive either an ACK or a NACK but no response from the bootloaderSome observations:Immediately following t

I have the STM32F769I-DISCO board and just made a simple application that uses usart1 to print some debug messages on the virtual com port (USART1. Everything works fine until I power off the board. When the board is connected to usb cable again the ST-Link utility or the CubeIDE debugger can't connect to the board. This is a message from the ST-Link utility. It goes well to bring the board back to life by setting BOOT0 pin high on start and erasing the flash. But this is annoying to do it every time and also this is not how it should work.I just started working with STM MCUs and will appreciate any hints in which direction to look for the root cause of this behavior. Best Regards,Anton

Hello everyone,I managed to build st-example-image-qt on my STM32MP157C-DK2 with some extra image features. Now i just want to run bitbake meta-toolchain-qt5 but the build end up with errors that i can't solve.I attached the output console when i try to build it. Do you have any clue how to resolve this ?Thank you.

Hi everybody! I've been struggling with this monster for a few days now. I'm trying to make it do some very basic (pun not intended) things and I have little hair left... But let's cut a (too) long story short: I'd like to send with the SPI a few bytes to a device. I'm using polling (DMA and INT's is an epic drama for another time), although that's not relevant at this point. So let's just send a byte (8 bits) thru SPI. I've set up the GPIOs for the SPI normal, as alternate functions (most of this code has been generated by CubeMX) - with NSS port as normal output - like this:LL_AHB1_GRP1_EnableClock(LL_AHB1_GRP1_PERIPH_GPIOA); LL_GPIO_InitTypeDef GPIO_InitStruct = {0}; LL_SPI_InitTypeDef SPI_InitStruct = {0};   GPIO_InitStruct.Pin = CK_Pin; GPIO_InitStruct.Mode = LL_GPIO_MODE_ALTERNATE; GPIO_InitStruct.Speed = LL_GPIO_SPEED_FREQ_HIGH; GPIO_InitStruct.OutputType = LL_GPIO_OUTPUT_PUSHPULL; GPIO_InitStruct.Pull = LL_GPIO_PULL_DOWN; GPIO_InitStruct.Alternate = LL_GPIO_AF_5; LL_GPIO_I

Hi,I want to generate a new distro for MP1 with distribution package and qt-examples. I downloaded all of the packages via fetchall command to avoid getting an internet connection error during generating. After that, I have tried to generate an image including qt examles. However, it wasn't completed for 2 days(it didn't compile qtwebkit for 2 days). I then have cleaned qtwebkit with "bitbake -c clean qtwebkit" command and tried compile only it(bitbake qtwebkit) but get an error is error 1 again. Why does it compile? And, how can I disable it from the image?
