I am currently building a USB PD programmable power supply sink application (upto 100 W) using Nucleo STM32G0 and X-Nucleo-SNK1M1 boards. While using the STM Cubemonitor UCPD interface, I am always getting a "DEFAULT 5V" contract (attached screenshot) and none of the other PDO options are accesible. How do I access the other PDO contracts, especially the PPS APDO?

In our product, we would like to use the LSE crystal to accurately time a measurement of roughly 0.1 seconds. In this case, we are using an STM32G474 MCU. Using a Nucleo-G474 board for proof-of-concept work, we have found that there is very bad jitter on the LSE clock over time scales of 0.1 seconds. Our procedure to test the LSE stability, using the Nucleo board, is as follows:Configure TIM5.1 to input LSE pulses on TI1.Configure TIM5.2 to input PA1 pulses on TI2.Enable the LSE.Feed a 32.768 kHz signal from a very stable frequency generator into PA1.Enable the HSE.Configure the PLL for 170 MHz.Switch SYSCLK to run off the 170 MHz PLL.Repeatedly measure the number of 170 MHz ticks in 3272 pulses of TIM5.1 and TIM5.2 (both channels measured simultaneously).By comparing the number of 170 MHz HSE-derived ticks that elapse in 3272 counts of the LSE vs. the number of ticks that elapse in 3272 of our reference generator, we can see that the tick counts on the reference generator channel are

I'm trying to do a periodic ADC capture on 2 channels, triggered by TIM5. ADC should output to memory via DMA, with a DMA interrupt upon each completion to read the data from each scan.So far, the DMA interrupts aren't hitting, and the ADC doesn't even appear to be reading anything. Any ideas what I'm missing?TIM5_CC4 outputs on a GPIO. ADC captures should be synced with that, so I'm trying to use TIM5_CC3 to trigger the ADC.Code was generated by STM32CubeMX 6.1.1, with STM32F4 package 1.25.2. I'm not able to pair our application running STM32WB55 via STM32CubeMonitor-RF. Pairing with iOS sniffer apps are working. What are the settings and commands I shall apply in STM32CubeMonitor-RF?Our device is using a 6 digit pin, bondle mode, MITM protection. Any other setting which might needed for P-NUCLEO-WB55 dongle? The description of the threshold registers says: "The value is expressed in 15-bit unsigned. Even if the threshold is expressed in absolute value, the device detects both positive and negative thresholds.".There is only one threshold to be set, despite the magnetometer having three axes. I found a potentially matching explanation in an application note for the LSM303AGR magnetometer (AN4825):"The interrupt threshold can be programmed using the [INT_THS_L]* and [INT_THS_H]* registers. When magnetic data exceeds the positive or the negative threshold, the interrupt signal is generated and the information about the type of interrupt is stored in the [INT_SRC_M]* register. In particular, when magnetic data exceeds the positive threshold, the [PTH_axis]* bit is set to '1', while if data exceeds the negative threshold, the [NTH_axis]* bit is set to '1'. If magnetic data lay between the positive and the negative thresholds, no interrupt signal is released."*I replaced the register names with

Hello.I am trying to perform temperature calibration on ISM330DHCX (bought from adafruit) for both gyro and accel.IMU is sampled at 104Hz via SPI bus.The IMU sits inside a glass container, and is placed in a freezer. When the IMU temperature reaches -10C the glass container with the IMU is taken out of the freezer and is placed in a hot room with air temperature around 40C. See attached temperature profile. Initial temperature increase is very aggressive - about 1deg C per minute, but then flattens out.My concern is gyro and accel behavior during the first 100000 samples/1000 seconds. Plots attached. It seems that the IMU shouldn't behave like that during varying temperature. So far I tested 3 different ISM330DHCX sensors this way and they all behave like that during the aggressive segment of temperature increase.Any ideas on what might be wrong, or does this seem normal given the aggressive temperature ramp?Any input is appreciated.Thanks.

Hi,I'm working the stm32mp157c som and trying to boot external quad spi flash (cypress S25HL512T). I added this to dts. &qspi {   pinctrl-names = "default", "sleep"; pinctrl-0 = <&quadspi_pins_mx>; pinctrl-1 = <&quadspi_sleep_pins_mx>; status = "okay";   #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <0>; flash0: flash@0 { compatible = "n25q512a","micron,m25p80"; reg = <0x0>; #address-cells = <1>; #size-cells = <1>; spi-max-frequency = <50000000>; partition@0x00000000 { label = "boot"; reg = <0x00000000 0x00500000>; }; partition@0x00500000 { label = "bootenv"; reg = <0x00500000 0x00020000>; }; partition@0x00520000 { label = "kernel"; reg = <0x00520000 0x01ae0000>; }; partition@0x02000000 { label = "spare"; reg = <0x02000000 0x00000000>; }; }; };aliases { spi6 = &qspi; };On the kernel side, I followed the following link.https://wiki.st.com/s

Hi,I use a ST25DV04K with STM32CubeExpansion_NFC4_V2.0.2. is it possible to set a RF password with an I2C function ?if yes, Could you give me some examples ?Best regardsMickaël

Hi, I am looking into using the LIS3MDL 3-Axis Magnetometer in an application with high frequency oscillating magnetic fields. I have looked through the datasheet of the LIS3MDL and it seems to meet most requirements that I've checked. My application has a magnetic flux density of .23 Gauss which is in the magnetometers range. The 16 bit output will provide sufficient precision as well. The frequency of oscillation of the magnetic field is 35kHz which is my primary concern. I saw some values for the Clock speed using SPI and I2C Communication Protocols however I need help to know if these will correlate to a sufficient ADC to accurately sample the field. And Likewise what would be your suggestion for an alternative if the LIS3MDL isn't suitable for my application. Thanks a ton in advance,Orlando

i have tried different frequencies , modes but no result.

Hello,I would like to embark on a project for a custom board with the STM32MP157DAB1 and I am referencing the STM32MP15-DISCO schematic from ST which uses the STM32MP157CAC3.My Question: How do I translate between the functionality of the pins? From observation, some functionality in one package does not translate to the other and after searching the datasheet, I am lost and need some guidance.Example, PC0 functions as LTDC_R5 (in the STM32MP157CAC3) and is connected with the video input of the SiI9022ACNU(another chip on the discovery board). How do I translate this functionality to the STM32MP157DAB1? What pin do I use for this on the STM32MP157DAB1?Any help is appreciated, thanks!PS - just an afterthought after reading other posts, do I have to use the STM32CubeMX to define such properties?

I have already ran the demonstration firmware from ST website and debugged with cube USB PD Monitor tool. realized an extended power output, higher voltage(>5V) & current(>3A).But how to change the code and implement in my software, which function and which part need to be changed? How to change? Are there a programming RM or UM for users? which document can be referred to.Can somebody give some guides?Thank you very much.:)

Hi,In our project, we are using a 20Mhz external crystal oscillator. The default frequency of external oscialltor in SPC5 Studio CLock Tree editor is 40Mhz. How will I change it to 20Mhz? Please see the picture below. Br,Sreejith

In STM32U575/585 RM0456 Rev 2 from September 2021, I see the following:"11.4.7 LSE clock...External source (LSE bypass)In this mode, an external clock source must be provided. It can have a frequency of up to 1 MHz."However, in STM32U585xx DS13086 Rev 4 from December 2021, I see the following:"5.3.7 External clock timing characteristics...Table 78. Low-speed external user clock characteristicsf_LSE_ext - User external clock source frequencyMin: 5 kHzTyp: 32.768 kHzMax: 40 kHz"So, is the max LSE frequency in bypass mode 1 MHz or is it 40 kHz? On previous MCU families such as the STM32G4 an LSE frequency up to 1 MHz in bypass mode was supported. Thanks!

Hi, I get no response from my computers when connecting the STEVAL-MKI109V3 with the USB cable. When connecting the cable the blue led turns on and after a few seconds the green led starts blinking. From what I read this is normal behaviour. The board is not discovered by a Windows 10 system and not shown in the device manager. So, when I got no contact, I found that I should try to reprogram the unit with STM32 cube programmer. When I press the buttons BT3 and BT2, and then releasing BT2, the board starts with only the blue led, which I have read should be correct. The problem is that there is no indication of the board in the device manager whatsoever. I also connected the board to linux and tried monitoring system events when connecting the USB cable but there was no indication of that the board was connected. Could it be something wrong with the board? Is it possible to reflash the the board with a KEIL ULINK2 programmer I have available? If possible, how is a reflash done with KEI

Hi all,Currently i'm reading and writing to external flash using the QSPI peripheral. All data i write is received correctly but there seems to be a "unnecessary" delay in both writing and reading QSPI.Sequence start with command 0x34 (page program)Followed by 32bits of addressSo far so good. Then it starts transmitting data using 4 lines. Here a delay is introduced between every set of 2 clock cycles (see attached picture). Does anyone know where this delay comes from or how i can solve it?Kind regards,TaxaraQSPI_CommandTypeDef command;   command.InstructionMode = QSPI_INSTRUCTION_1_LINE; command.Instruction = 0x34; command.AddressSize = QSPI_ADDRESS_32_BITS; command.AddressMode = QSPI_ADDRESS_1_LINE;   command.Address = address;   command.AlternateByteMode = QSPI_ALTERNATE_BYTES_NONE; command.AlternateBytes = QSPI_ALTERNATE_BYTES_NONE; command.AlternateBytesSize = QSPI_ALTERNATE_BYTES_NONE;   command.DummyCycles = 0; command.DataMode = QSPI_DATA_4_LINES; command.N

Hi.I init global array DMABuf[33] = {0}; According C++ standard it must be filled zeros.DMABuf placed into SRAM1(2) i.e. SRAM D2. Immediately after reset the buffer contain zeros. After initialisation DMA, buffer and all SRAM D2 contain random numbers.Section declaration in ld file:/* DMA buffer output section */ .bss.dmabuf : { . = ALIGN(32); _sbss.dmabuf = .; /* create a global symbol at start */ *(.bss.dmabuf) *(.bss.dmabuf*) . = ALIGN(32); _ebss.dmabuf = .; /* create a global symbol at end */ } >RAM_DMAI try to fill SRAM with zeros uint8_t arrTxADC[lenBufSpiDma] __attribute__((aligned (32))) __attribute__((section(".bss.dmabuf"))) = {0}; uint8_t arrRx_ADC[lenBufSpiDma] __attribute__((aligned (32))) __attribute__((section(".bss.dmabuf"))) = {0};But compiler (or IDE) not fill this section with zeros when generate starting code (startup_stm32h725igkx.s), so I do this manually at the same manner as IDE code generator make it for .bss section. /* Zero fill the bss seg

I'm trying to create a loader for external flash. I cannot use IAR EWARM and the only examples I find use that. (e.g. https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/stm32-external-loader)I need this to work with GCC from a make file using LD linker scripts.Any idea where I can find examples for this? Any information on making external flash loaders with make/gcc/ld is also appreciated.

Hi,I I am stuck in my project, I have to activate the physical sim card.the documentation says you need "Set pin Sim_select0 to low to select the plastic SIM" but I don't know how to do it.

Hello, for a switched capacitor ADC with differential inputs, I would expect no limits on common mode voltage as long as input voltage is in the GND/VDDA range. However STM32 ADCs only allow a small range of common mode voltage around (Vref- VDDa) /2. In some test circuit with common mode voltages outside that range I got (stable) values several percent off.Why has the STM32 ADC this requirementsIs there characteristic data what happens outside the allowed range?

I create a custom board to use PT4115 to control LED. This PT4115 can be control with PWM or external DC on DIM pin. According to spec, the DIM range is 0.3-2.5V.I tested the board by I short the DIM pin to GND and the LED turn off.So it show the board should be working. When i use STM32G030 pin as output and set it to Low,the LED does not turn off but only slightly dim.Am i missing something? The spec say the DIM is pull up internally to 5V, and i measure the DIM pin is right on 5V.So, can i directly connect this to MCU pin?

Hello ST community!I'm working with the STM32L152C Discovery board and would like to create a simple USART example. I have developed USART drivers in the past, but this time they are not working with the disco board. It is possible that it has to do with the fact that all the USART pins are connected to the LCD?I also tried using the USART through the ST-LINK V2, but my PC is not recognizing the board, and I already installed the drivers and did the firmware update, but no idea what's happening.I'm able to flash the board with a simple LED program, so I know it works :) Any help would be extremely appreciated, thanks a lot in advance!
