I wish to understand the naming convention used in the STM32 products. Specifically the meaning of the letters in the partnumbers such as STM32'F' or STM32'G' etc. A pointer to the information would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks in anticipation.

Somewhat wandered around, F1 was the first part. Don't think too hard, you'll give yourself a headache

L is typically low power

0xx often refers to CM0(+) core

4xx often refers to CM4 core

7xx often refers to CM7 core

futureproof convention depends on the forward looking range...

F is the original family, L is the low power familly, and then as things evolves more letters are created.

Just look at USB bus naming convension over the years, or car plate naming convention which sometime change...

For the other letters of the salestype, the description is in the last pages of the product datasheet.
