The

is an evaluation board specifically designed to interface with ST Digital

. The kit is based on a digital audio processor, STA321MP, able to interconnect up to 6 digital PDM microphones, convert signal from PDM to PCM and apply pre-processing filtering and equalization before feeding its output interface, either I2S or PWM/HP.

Together with the

interface the kit can be used to conveniently upstream the microphone signals via USB and analyze acquired data with

tool, in real-time.

How many different mic channels can I record simultaneously with the complete STSmartVoice kit that includes the STAudioHub?

What recording software will I need for Windows 7?

I have Audacity, but I cannot see more than two channels (stereo).

Thanks for any help.

Hi David,

The STSmartVoice kit upstream the audio via the AudioHub kit which only allow for a stero recording (ie. 2 channels).

If STAudioHub is used with APW, with or without the SmartVoice kit, then the recording option is offered directly by APW itself and it's not possible to use external sw.

Should you prefer to use your own audio recording software - such as Audacity - you need to run STAudioHub in standalone mode so that it will enumerate as a standard audio acquisition USB card.

Also - though not relevant to STSmartVoice/AudioHub - note that Audacity is not supporting more than 2 channels on Win7 due to some licensing problem with the ASIO drivers. You'll need to have a custom build of the sw - including ASIO - in order to enable multi-channel audio.

Regards,
