I never tried that private "qt-kiosk-browser" development.
I tested PyQt5 based browser.

for STM32MP157F, Qt5 applications can be run at 1280x720@30 in EGLFS configuration (default gcnano driver).
As you mentioned you probably reach the limit of the system in your configuration.

I can just give you some clue to run a simple test that works with kmssink on regular Weston build:
systemctl stop weston-graphical-session.service
gst-launch-1.0 videotestsrc ! kmssink driver-name=stm
