IIS3DH evaluation board STEVAL-MKI168V1 and compatibility with generic mcu

As the question says, is it possible to use the STEVAL-MKI168V1 with a generic mcu? Are there any python or c++ libraries available for it?I am an amateur hobbyist trying to get high precision accelerometer readings
