What type of surface will the VL53L1X be the happiest and most accurate to range to. White/Black or shiny or dull? The data sheet asks for calibration 17% grey? but ranges the best at 88% white? Thank you

I have a LSE with a freq of 32.768KHz. The cube generated code uses values for  AsynchPrediv   = 127;SynchPrediv    = 255;These values give around ~4ms resolution. Is it possible to get to ~1ms resolution?Thanks
