Are you suggesting that I should initialize the SDRAM in System_Init() function, and then maybe I can the linker script to define a memory section and use it as heap ? such as _user_heap_stack ?

Thank you again. I use Atollic Truestudio and didn't find any related setup in the startupxxx.s or the linker script. Maybe I just need to look carefully again.Eric
