Will pre-C5 series (like F4) be compatible with CubeMX2 and HAL2?

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question regarding the upcoming release of CubeMX2 and its backward compatibility.

Once CubeMX2 is released, will the older series before C5 (like the F4) support MX2 and HAL2?

Also, if they do support it, will we be forced to bundle HAL2 for these older models, or will there be some flexibility?

Hello @llLeo306 and welcome to the ST community,

Older MCU series remain in HAL/MX while new series will come with HAL2/MX2.

No plan for the moment to migrate old series to HAL2/MX2.

Both flavors will be supported in the same way.

I can't tell more.
