STM32CubeIDE DMA2D error when rendering text — what could cause this?

I’m using TouchGFX on an STM32 with LTDC. Colors render fine, but when I try to display text, I hit a DMA2D transfer error and the text doesn’t show. Any idea what usually causes this?
