STM32CubeIDE 1.8.0 released

STM32CubeIDE 1.8.0 was released last week on st.com as well as an in-tool update patch.

Caution: The in-tool update does not allow updating debug probe drivers and ST-LINK server tool. Full installer is required for this.

What is new in 1.8.0?

• Target support updated in-sync with STM32Cube ecosystem in general. In particular:
  • New STM32L4xxxx devices
  • New NUCLEO-F756ZG
• Integration of STM32CubeMX 6.4.0, STM32CubeProgrammer 2.9.0
• TraceX export
  • Easy export and visualization of Azure® RTOS TraceX trace buffer in TraceX
• Video tutorials
  • Information Center update with video browser
  • First ten video tutorials available on YouTube™
• GCC update
  • GCC 10 available on Eclipse® p2 update site
• Microprocessor Linux® bootloader deployment
  • Bootloader update on running target and test

Caution: After updating STM32CubeIDE, the post-update restart fails. STM32CubeIDE must be restarted manually.

Dear Mattias Norlander,

I want to use SDK 5.4.8, which requires STM32CubeMX 6.4.0. To work with STM32CubeMX 6.4.0, it seems STM32CubeIDE version 1.8.0 is necessary. Is my understanding correct?

Also, I noticed that STM32CubeIDE v1.8.0 is no longer available for download from the official site. Could you please share why?

I will first use STM32CubeMX 6.3.0 along with STM32CubeIDE 1.7.
