Please check STM32MP157F-DK2 no function issue after STM32MP157F-DK2.
#1. After receiving the STM32MP157F-DK2 board, I connected a 5V/3A Type-C Power Adapter to CN6 and verified Linux boot and operation. LCD operation.
#2. Updated the Linux image on the SD card using STM32Cube Programmer on a Windows PC.
Following the procedure in the link below, successfully updated the Linux flash image to the SD card using FlashLayout_sdcard_stm32mp157f-dk2-optee.tsv via STM32Cube Programmer on the Windows PC.

#3. Turn SW1 BOOT0 and BOOT2 back ON, connect the USB Cable to the ST-LINK (CN11) on the PC, and connect the 5V/3A Type-C Power Adapter to CN6 to boot the stm32mp157f-dk2 board.
#4. UART logs output normally, but the message "ERROR USB TYPE-C connection in unattached mode" appears and Linux does not boot. - The same Type-C Power Adapter used in #1 above was used.
#5. Approximately one hour later, the stm32mp157f-dk2 board became significantly hot, and Linux still did not boot.
#4. After sufficiently cooling the board, connected the USB Cable to the PC via ST-LINK (CN11), connected the 5V/3A Type-C Power Adapter to CN6, then
No UART output from CN11, POWER IN LD2 LED GREEN, LD4 LED RED, all other LEDs OFF. No Linux boot.

Hi,
Board can be faulty, but this is quite rare and they are quite robust against misuse.
'Significantly hot' is maybe not the issue, it is normal to have STM32MP157F in the 50C range after some time of running the demo.
The "ERROR USB TYPE-C connection in unattached mode" mean the USB-C supply adapter is not providing correct CC lines signalling as per USB standard. This might be the case with some low cost chargers or some branded one not having full USB-C PD compliance.
Might come as well from faulty cable.
Did you try powering the board thru CN6 (and no other cable connected to the board) without SD-Card ? You should get red LD6 blink fast.
Did you try another power supply (a PC could be used as supply) ? tried another cable ? tried reversing USB-C connectors ?
Regards.

Hi. Patrick.
I tried tests below.
#1. Connect 65W Samsung PD Power Adapter to CN6 of the board without SD Card and no cable connection to PC.
#2. Connect Samsung PC Type-C port (via type-c cables) to CN6 of the board without SD Card.
#3. Connect A to C cable with USB Hub (via type-c cables) to CN6 of the board without SD Card.
- LD6 LED is off and LD4 is blinking
- Same result with flip and up-flip cable orientation.
- Same result with cables (Samsung Type-C cable, USB4 cable)
In addition, If I connect USB cable to ST-Link (CN11) with my PC, ST USB UART is recognized but no UART output from the board.
As for the heat when I felt, it seemed over 100 Celsius.
Could you please confirm that the ST board is damaged so that I request board replacement to the vendor?
Thanks.

Hi,
yes, seems board has been damaged or it was faulty.
You could ask your vendor for a replacement.
Regards.
