"Please login to download a software package" with Nucleo WBA52CG

Hello,

I have STMCubeIDE version 1.17.0 on my computer.

No issue to create a new project with Nucleo board STM32L073.  However when trying to create a new project for Nucleo board STMWBA52CG, there is the following error message "Please login to download a software package. Go to Help__>STM32Cube updates --> Connection to my ST".

This I did, and some updates were installed. However , even after restarting my computer, I still have the same failure message.

Can anyone help me ?

Hello @Serge1

Can you try the latest version of CubeIDE 1.18.1, and check if the issue persist?

Souhaib

Hello Souhaib,

When the updated were installed, the version 1.18.1 was installed. The shortcut still says that it's version 1.17.0 but the user interface changed.

Anyway I did nothing since yesterday. I only started my computer this morning and there is no issue anymore. CubeIDE downloaded automatically the files missing for a STMWBA52CG project. May be there were yesterday connection issues with you server.

Thanks for having replied to me.

Regards

Serge

PS: By the way since I see you are a ST employee, there is a bug in the user interface 1.18.1. When at the project creation, you want to enter the commercial part number, after each character entered, the mouse pointers moves to the entry field with the + and - on the right side, so that after each character you have manually to move the pointer back to the commercial part number entry field which is not really user friendly.

Hello @Serge1

for this behavior, this is a known issue if you update the STM32CubeIDE to the newest version directly from the updater on a previous version. To avoid this you have to uninstall the Current version completely from your PC and re-install the newest one from the ST website directly. More details on the case number 207337 of the STM32CubIDE errata wiki.

Best Regards.

Thanks for the tip.
I'll try next week when I'm back at work ( I need to require administrator rights on my computer to do this) and I'll let you know
