Random activation of readout protection on L4

The question below refers to L452.

I encounter once in a while a random activation of the readout protection.

I suspect the code that disables the watchdog operation before switching to STOP mode (as it updates the user option bytes).

Can this affect the readout protection? is there another idea why is the protection fired?

Thanks,

Ariela

Hi @ABlum.1,

yes, this is possible. If you do this frequently and there's no verification, it's unfortunately possible to corrupt the RDP together with the User OB.

However it should not be necessary to change the IWDG settings. Normally you are supposed to set the IWDG_STOP once and leave it that way for the entire existence of the device. What is the scenario where you sometimes need the IWDG to run in STOP mode and sometimes not?

Would it be possible to at least use the WWDG to avoid reprogramming the OB? The OB are not designed to be changed frequently and this may easily lead to failures.

J
