STOne-32,

Again - thank you very much.

I know that its getting very late where you are - perhaps it makes more sense to wait till the parts arrive - at which time I can identify the part markings and report these to you for further analysis. Parts should be @ our dock by Tuesday.

We desperately need these STM32F103R6T6 to work correctly with IAR 5.20.

Will ''STM32F103R6T6A'' rev ''A'' work correctly with IAR 5.20??? In the past you had advised us to use Rev ''Y''. This 32KB chip WAS a Med Density device until ST made the reconfiguration - now it is Low Density.

jj.sprague,

''STM32F103R6T6A'' rev ''A'' works properly with IAR 5.20 and in addition has an improved power consumption compared to previous ''STM32F103R6T6'' rev B,Z or Y. So, I'm quite sure that will be fully happy with it.

Cheers,

STOne-32.

STOne-32,

Thank you - I suspect that we will receive the earlier Rev ''Y'' - as directed by the now locked topic. Will burden you/forum no more till our STM32s arrive.

Greatly appreciate your care & expertise... Will report as parts arrive.

Sad to report that today received dreaded Rev ''Z'' of both STM32103R6T6 and STM32103R8T6. This from large, franchised, US disty - even after multiple emails to ST Rep, disty, and bold Rev ''Y'' specification on our P.O. (issued last week)

Feared the ''newness'' of these revisions - thus requested only 25 pcs release of each (500 pc, each total). Our fear was warranted.

Having written confirmation from ST Rep, Disty, and clear Rev specification on our P.O. - are there any additional actions I should take to order and receive the correct STM devices? (Since our P.O. STOne-32 has advised that R6T6 is ''now'' a Low Density - and requires Rev ''A.'' The larger R8T6 Med Density requires Rev ''Y.'')

STOne-32 - none is your doing. The anti-static, sealed environmental pack had a column marked ''MULT'' and ''Y'' was printed therein - raising our hopes. Alas all 50 micros bore the clear Rev ''Z'' marking - appears insufficient effort was made to look/check.

Just dawned - has anyone/anywhere received a Rev ''Y'' Medium Density device and/or a Rev ''A'' new, Low Density device? My approach has thus far proved inadequate...

Success! Pleased to report - earlier today received STM32F103: C4T6A, C6T6A, and R6T6A. Had great cooperation from local ST office and ST rep in supplying specified Rev ''A'' after local disty shipped 50/50 Rev Z just last week.

Hand soldered 1 of ea. device and ALL worked fine w/ IAR 5.20 - and ran our code correctly. (Recall that there was ''rev'' issue with Medium Density STMs - and that R6 & C6 were reclassified from Med. to Low Density.)

Thanks to STOne-32 for his assistance in bringing attention to this problem - then organizing and disseminating a solution.
