Hello!
Go to oontrol panel and open the device manager.
Find the STlink device(the unknown usb device)
right click the device and select properties.
Select Driver tab, then click to the update driver button.
Choose 'browse my compute' for driver software.
And 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
Browse for the .inf driver file in your unziped stlink folder. Open and push 'Next'.
The driver must be installed.

Hello
mhwuzd
,This may becaused by incorrectinstallation.
So, try open
Device Manager through'Control Panel' , then right click on 'Properties' for the 'unknown device'.Click the 'Update Driver' button in the 'Driver' tab to update the driver software,
Then locate and install driver software manually by choosing 'Browse my computer for driver software' to browse the .inf driver file from the unzipped ST-Link folder and click on 'Next'.
Please try this and let me know if your problem is resolved or not.
Best Regards
Imen

hi,
I follow your instruction and it shows the same result (with error).
I use the same way to install in another PC (win8)
And the device driver was installed well.
So it should be the OS or PC issue.
But how to solve it?
