Hi Folks

I just thought that I would say that using the Code Red tools with the Discovery Board is quite simple:

Move

the

soldered links on SB3 and SB7

to

SB2 an SB6.

The

n all

the

debugger signals are available on

the

headers CN2 and CN3

CN3  1,2,3,4 = VCC, SWCLK, GND, SWO and CN2 5,6 = RESET and SWO.

This is a quite a good low cost development system

I need the support :)

I'm more HW than SW and have moved from Ardunio -> mbed -> ST32F4. its a bit of a crazy learning curve at the moment!!

A personal (private) licence for Crossworks is about 1/10 of the above mentioned cost, so $150 approximately. I have one, and still view it as a good investment.

And the last time I checked CodeRed, they had limited licences for 256/512k codesize, at a price of $256 and $512 - what a coincidence ;)

But as discussed, you need to check for the debug adapter support.

CW supports both ST-Llink V1 and V2, but the former one not under Linux.

...Yup looks like  cross works is a better option if you are not doing commercial dev, however for commercial dev they are more expensive. (also I like to support open source if I can)
