Hi sir,
We are using an STM32 MCU for a motor control application (vacuum cleaner application). Universal motors are typically used in vacuum cleaner applications.
Could you please help me with the selection of a suitable MCU, motor driver, and a universal motor?
We have verified one device with the part number STEVAL-IHM029V2, but it is not recommended for new designs. Could you please suggest an alternative part for this?
I am attaching the motor brochure for your reference.
Best regards,
Samudralnakaiah.

Dear Samudra.
I have found a help on my colleagues. We are just in the process to re-qualify our solution.
The recommendation is use another board STEVAL-GLA001V1:
------
The STEVAL-GLA001V1 embeds 3 Triacs of different sizes and allows control in different modes, including phase angle for universal motor control.
It is based on a Nucleo board and STM32, not STM8 as on the IHM029V2.
However, this STEVAL-GLA001V1 is also indicated as obsolete on the st.com website because one of the Triac reference has been put in obsolete status.
So, we are in the process to re-qualify with another Triac p/n.
But, since few years, the STEVAL boards require now CE marking certification, which makes qualification more complex when there is voltage higher than safety level (> 50 VAC) on the board.
I propose the STEVAL-GLA001V1 (still available at distry, even if obsolete on st.com).
The obsolete Triac p/n is the T1635T-8FP which can be replaced by the T1635T-8I.

Please have a look to the product pages of mentioned board and SW.

Hope it answers to the request.
Have a nice day.
