Is there any issue for FATs in regards SD card capacity usage?

I'm using Sensor Tile to record IMU sensors data. If I use 8GB program works OK but if I use 1GB or 2GB card program stuck at f_open function. Any clue?

Not a FatFs issue, would be the lower layer not supporting pre-SDHC cards, either due to speed, or different command requirements.
