X-NUCLEO-SRC1M1 STEP or DXF File

Hi,

I want to create a pin-compatible board to X-NUCLEO-SRC1M1 to further explore USB-C charging, is there a STEP or DXF file available for this or any other X-NUCLEO board that has both the ST Morpho and Arduino UNO R3 connectors please?

Kind regards,

Al

This comes up quite frequently; eg, see: X-NUCLEO-IHM08M1 3D model.

Tl;DR: ST do not generally provide 3D models for evaluation boards.

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Hi @Andrew Neil

I have downloaded quite a few STEP files for Discovery and NUCLEO boards from the ST website, and indeed some X-NUCLEO ones are also available with just the Arduino headers, a quick search will provide.

I said they're not generally provided - but, indeed, some do exist.

As noted in the linked thread: if they are available, they will be on the 'CAD Resources' tab of the Product Page; if they aren't there, then they aren't available.

As also noted in that thread, some 3rd parties have published models.

Hi @Andrew Neil

Whilst it would have saved time if there was an existing STEP file available, in the end I did my own:

I'll verify it in my own design first, but if ok will post here for the benefit of others unless it's against forum rules.

Hi @alw

Unfortunately step file is not available. Attached pdf format

I hope this helps!

Hi @FBL

Thanks, but not really useful for PCB design. I did my STEP file in less than two hours using the Gerber files from X-NUCLEO-SRC1M1 to get the board profile and a datum point for the connectors and then used the PCB from the NUCLEO-G491 STEP file as a template for the ST Morpho and Arduino connector locations. Connectors are downloads from the Samtec and Wurth websites based on the BOM information. It's the key information anyone needs for doing their own expansion board. If there are no objections from ST, I'll post my STEP file here for everyone's benefit once I've verified it mechanically.

Kind regards,

Al
