Extend STM32N6570-DK with a WiFi module & Zephyr

Hello,

We need to add WiFi connectivity to an STM32N6570-DK board and run Zephyr on it.

Is that possible? Can you propose a solution?

We have seen X-NUCLEO-67W61M1 expansion board that can work with STM32N6. But can that board be connected with the DK board?

Thank you very much for any suggestion.

Regards.

Of course it can - just connect appropriate pins for SPI, UART, GPIO ...

You will have to check the User Guides and/or schematics of both boards to find appropriate available pins.

  • User Guides will be on the 'Documentation' tabs of the respective Product Pages;
  • schematics will be on the 'CAD Resources' tabs
A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

Thank you for the quick response.

What about the software side? Any clue what would be needed to run zephyr?

Thanks

You'd need to go to the Zephyr site for that:

https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/boards/st/stm32n6570_dk/doc/index.html

https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/samples/net/wifi/README.html

Getting started on Zephyr is a non-trivial journey:

However, with some effort it is possible, correct?

Otherwise a FreeRTOS implementation is more easy to implement using X-CUBE-ST67W61.

Have I understood it correctly?
