Availability of the Embedded Code for ST-LINK (STM32F103TBU) Functionality

MichaelRW

Good morning,

I have a design based on the schematic of the STM32 Nucleo-64 L073RZ MCU evaluation board.

Is the code to support ST-LINK functionality on the STM32F103TBU part of the STM embedded tool chain?

Thank you.

This comes up frequently.

No, it is not available.

See, for example ST-LINK source code.

Also this.

Why would you want to include an ST-Link on your custom product?

PS:

The STLINK-V3MODS can be mounted on your own board.

Possibly also the STLINK-V3MINIE.

A complex system that works is invariably found to have evolved from a simple system that worked.
A complex system designed from scratch never works and cannot be patched up to make it work.

The board being designed is a first-cut for an individual learning Altium Designer.  They used the available schematic for the EVM board and added several sensor devices connected via I2C.

With the board still work if the ST-LINK functionality is not available?

Thank you.

Of course - just use an external ST-Link, as usual.
