The application that I am building uses a rectenna to provide DC power to an
SPV1040 which performs its MPPT algorithm and outputs the converted power to an
attached load (VStorage). Here is how the SPV1040 is configured for our
application:
The circuit is based off of the STEVAL-ISV006V2 configuration. When measuring the
output power of our rectenna with a specific load we are measuring ~40mW of
power. However, the measured power across the load is only ~20mW which would
imply a ~50% efficiency which is much less than the stated efficiency of
80-95%.
From a maximum power transfer theorem perspective this behavior makes sense, but
that does not match the stated values in the datasheet. Where did all of the
power go?
