Hi,

When I was trying for DC-DC converter design, I have found this VIPer22A Isolated DC-DC converter design. I am having two queries here,

1) Is still this technology in use?

2) Can I get the details about the transformer which used here?

Is there any new technology for the same DC-DC converter pls suggest for me. It will be better for further development.

Welcome @Shangugapriya_G, to the community!

The VIPer22A is a member of the first family of such VIPer switching regulators, was launched in the early 2000s but is still in production. The family comprises only a few derivatives: VIPer12A, VIPer22A, VIPer50A and VIPer53/A. At the time, software for calculating the switching parameters was also available for this old family, but is not available anymore.

This first family was then quickly replaced by the greatly improved and now very comprehensive family of VIPerPlus, which was then also included in the simulation tool eDesignSuite. This still allows the same non-isolated DC/DC to be parameterised and simulated as can be seen in your screenshot.

To your questions:

  • If by "technology" you mean schematics: yes, this is of course also possible with the newer VIPerPlus. If you are referring specifically to the VIPer22A, it is still in production as mentioned, but it is still recommended to switch to a derivative of the VIPerPlus.
  • Your picture shows all the relevant parameters of the transformer. Which parameters are you missing?
