Hello,
I am using an L6472 stepper motor controller.
I have an EVAL6472H board coupled over SPI to a nucleo L4R5Zi board on SPI.
I am running the motor controller on Step Clock mode.
I am setting the hold current to 200mA. When the motor runs, I am updating the current to 1A.
After motion is complete I update the current to 200mA again.
The power supply is 24V.
I can see that when I set the current to 200mA, I can see the coil voltages are ~200mV; the impendance of the coils is ~1.1ohm.
However, there is 70mA current flowing through the power supply which is approx 1.68W.
I tried with other current settings and the power supply seems to source almost 2W higher than required.
What am I missing here, or has anyone come across this problem?
Request someone to help me with this.
I thank you in advance!

The question has been moved from the "STM32 Motor Control" section to the "Motor Control Hardware" section (the question is not about the STM32 MC SDK).
