HI,
I am using an L6470 and have a situation where I must stop motion immediately if an obstruction (think someone's hand) crosses an IR beam. Motion must stop immediately and not via any commands since there can be no risk of a communication error. The data sheet implies that the STBY/RST input signal should not be used when the bridges are active (i assume this means when a motor is in motion). What is the best way to stop motion not using any communication?
