How to I determine the correct Resistor value for setting the current limit on the ST1PS02BQTR Buck Converter?

From looking at the datasheet for ST1PS02BQTR, I was able to determine what the default current limit, and that I just need to place a resistor there to set the current limit, but I didn't see any other documentation about what the relationship between the resistor value and the current limit.

Please do not get confused by the words "current limit". Here it means the current limit of the high-side MOSFET switch. Its corresponding values are given in table 6, block Power switch for a resistor of:

  • 0 Ohms: 750...1000mA
  • 1 MOhms: 500...800mA
  • 2.2 MOhms: 250mA

Please remember the function of a synchronous buck converter: it is the peak inductor current, not the DC output current.

Good luck!
