ST7 Stick Programming Speed

To program a ST72F561 with the ST7 Stick it takes around 3 minutes. That seems rather long for programming with a parallel port (compared to other micros).

Is there anyway to speed up the programming so that it takes less time??? The computer 1.6GHz, 2GB of RAM; nothing else is running.

Your chip is probably driven by a slow clock.

This clock source is configured through option bytes. You can significantly improve your programming duration by ignoring current option bytes during the programming session: Select ICP OPT DISABLE in the configuration window. Then, programming the whole memory will last less than 30 seconds. Emmanuel.
