I am trying to figure out which TOL Sensor to use for a robot application.
Usecase: Distance measurement on coated shiny metal surfaces while moving over them, to detect an edge. Detection Range 10-50mm (if it detects further that would be fine, but accuracy is needed in this distance area).
We would need a Sensor with the least possible FOV to detect an edge precisely even if the Distance differs a few mm. Before we were using this sensor: Sharp GP2Y0D805Z0F but thats not available anymore. Then we tried using the VL53L0X Sensor, which gives crapy results for metal especially in small detection ranges.
What sensor to choose, is there any additional lens available to reduce FOV?. We don`t need a breakoutboard, currently we are using 7 Sensors in an array.
