Hello,
I was having fun with the Sensortile.box Pro I bought a month ago. When I reset the device to its factory settings (SensorTile.boxPRO.bin in file en.stsw-mkboxpro-fs.zip) using the STM32CubeProgramming tool, the device blinks the red LED once and cannot be found by the ST BLE Sensor app. This happens for any sample FW.
If I click the "Verify programming" checkbox, I get the following message in the log:
19:28:09 : Error: Data mismatch found at address 0x08000000 (byte = 0xF8 instead of 0x98)
19:28:09 : Error: Download verification failed
Please advice.
Thank you,
A.

Hi Federica,
thanks for your suggestion. I had successfully restored my Sensortile.box Pro a few times using the procedure described in UM3133 (Chapter 2.2) and a few weeks ago it stopped working. That is, I was able to load the firmware but, after a power cycle, I wasn't able to connect to the ST BLE Sensor App. I also noticed the second LED from the top blinked red once. At this point I enabled the "Verify programming" checkbox in the STM32CubeProgrammer tool, and the check failed.
In order to double-check everything, I followed your link today and was ready to give it another try but STM32CubeProgrammer cannot find my device now. I switched to my windows partition and got the same results. I also tried copying the dtm.bin file to the SD card and I ran the STBP_FR_v04.exe program. It didn't work either.
I believe this is a HW issue as everything was working fine before. How should I proceed?

Hi @cookao ,
You can contact our online support that can help you to understand if it is an HW issue. You can open a request at this site: https://ols.st.com/s/

Hi Francesca,
I opened this item and waited one week. Since I got no replies, I opened https://ols.st.com/s/case/500Ty000007EQbLIAW/cannot-upload-new-firmare-onto-sensortilebox-pro
The suggestion there was to try the community, and now the community's suggestion is to try open a support ticket... This is not helpful.

I have a similar problem with my SensorTile.Box Pro. It worked properly with ST BLE Sensor when I received the unit for participation in a 2024 Webinar. I was also able to build and run the data log example outlined in the webinar Modules 5, 6 and 7.
I recently had an inquiry from a potential customer about using the SensorTile.box Pro for monitoring environmental parameters of equipment in a food processing plan with the goal of using the AI features to detect failing equipment and predict MTBF. I thought this would be an excellent application for the SensorTile.box Pro and I wanted to demonstrate the Webinar Expert mode as an illustration.
However, when attempted to restore the PRO mode back to Factory Default using STBP_FR_v04 from stsw-mkboxpro-fs.zip, the program seems to have been successful. but halted at the Auto COM port phase as shown in the screen snip attached below:
At this point, the programing app freezes and has to be closed using Ctrl-C The SensorTile.box Pro LEDs immediately go into a flashing pattern of seven consecutive red flashes followed by a steady green and yellow flash at twice the duration of a single red flash. This occurs immediately and continues even after power cycling the box in order to exit DFU mode.
COM9 (shown in the attachment) is not present on my Windows 11 Device Manager, so I assume it is related to the SensorTile.box pro UARTs.
dtm.bin was present on my SD Card during my first re-programming attempt. I replaced it with dtm.bin from the .zip file, but there was no change.
STBP_selftest_manual_03.docx, also in the .zip file mentions an STB_FACTORY_Reset folder, but I was unable to locate such a folder on any of the ST or 3rd party websites. Finally, I've tried both USB1 DFU and STLINK-V3_MINIE with no change in the result.
I would appreciate assistance with the problem so that I can demonstrate the SensorTile.box Pro to my very patient customer!
Thank you in advance..
