Difference between ISM330 and ASM330

MattMicro

Hello All,

I am trying to decide between these two components and looking at the datasheet they seem pretty identical. Are the sensing elements the same? what is the difference between these two families?

Also, looking at the ASM330* there are many versions of this product like: ASM330LHB, ASM330LHBG1, ASM330LHH, ASM330LHHX, ASM330LHHXG. What are the differences between these products ?

Thanks,

Hi @MattMicro ,

Welcome to ST Community!

The ASM330LHH is a 3D digital accelerometer and a 3D digital gyroscope with an extended temperature range up to +105 °C and designed to address automotive non-safety applications.

The ISM330DHCX is a system-in-package featuring a high-performance 3D digital accelerometer and 3D digital gyroscope tailored for Industry 4.0 applications.

The ASM330LHHX is a ASM330LHH but with some additional features such as Android Auto™ compliant and CarPlay® compliant, Programmable finite state machine, Machine learning core.

The ASM330LHHXG1 is a 6-axis IMU featuring a 3-axis digital accelerometer and a 3-axis digital gyroscope with an extended temperature range up to +125°C, designed to address automotive nonsafety applications.

The ASM330LHB is an IMU sensor that offers ASIL B compliance if used in conjunction with a certified software library and features a 3-axis digital accelerometer and a 3-axis digital gyroscope with an extended temperature range up to +105 °C.

The ASM330LHBG1 is a 6-axis IMU that offers ASIL B compliance if used in conjunction with a certified software library and features a 3-axis digital accelerometer and a 3-axis digital gyroscope with an extended temperature range up to +125°C.
