Does STSW-STUSB005 GUI needs external STUSB device before installing?

I though you were asking about an additional USB device plugged to the type C port.

OK then,

it will work with EVAL-SCS003V1 dongle itself or

with NUCLEO-F072RB (being the USB data to I2C bridge) + STUSB47 chip.

It shall be no.

You need only a NUCLEO-F072RB board and an EVAL-SCS003V1 dongle.

While installing GUI 005 , Got a warning NO STUSB detected, operation failed. So thought we might need the EVAL board.

Do we need both the board Nucleo and Eval-SCS003V1 or just one will work?

Thanks for answering

Nucleo board is required to customize the NVM through I2C

EVAL-SCS003V1 is required to customize the NVM through CC pin. Mentioned in the datasheet.0693W00000FBa5sQAD.pngWe could select any one of these based on user requirement.

Hope you got my query.

thanks

The GUI shall also work without any electrical connection to STUSB4761 IC, allowing user to, for example, customize NVM settings and export to a file.

The warning of "No STUSB detected" is showed when performing operations that require STUSB4761 IC physically, such as "Read IC" or "Flash IC".

Thanks for your time.

It means I can still install GUI without any Board in picture. I will try again to install GUI 0005 as last time it didn't happened due to warning issue,
