The datasheet of the TDA7294 audio amplifier suggests a bridge topology through Fig. 25 on page 13 of the datasheet. The design seems elegant as it does not use any external op-amps to generate complimentary signals.
However I have a few questions/ concerns:
- Is this the best approach to implement the bridge topology since it uses the output of one IC as input to the next?
- How will it compare in terms of performance parameters (noise and distortion etc.) to the one that uses an externally generated complimentary signals?
- Will an electrolytic capacitor in series with the 680E resistor help minimizing the DC at the amplifier output? Should this capacitor be bi-polar electrolytic instead of polar, for better performance?
