Hi there,I am trying to use the plasma-mobile enviroment as default in the x11 distro. I documented in detail everything in this issue (easy to reproduce): https://github.com/schnitzeltony/meta-qt5-extra/issues/73Can someone from ST look into this to add support for plasma-mobile in the next release? ThanksVictor

I configured UART7 and USART3 to work with RTS in linux (for A7) - I generated the DTS and checked to use the correct pins (according to schematics) to make sure are mapped to the Arduino connector (UART7) amd RPI GPIO like connector The UART7 & USART3 are getting mapped correctly to /dev/ttySTM1 & /dev/ttySTM2 and work as expected but the RTS line doesn't toggle. I wrote a small program which is opening the /dev/ttySTM1 & /dev/ttySTM2 and I'm forcing the RTS line but nothing happens (monitoring the lines with the logic analyzer)any idea why RTS is not working?The relevant sections from device tree below******* uart7_pins_mx: uart7_mx-0 { pins1 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('E', 7, AF7)>; /* UART7_RX */ bias-disable; }; pins2 { pinmux = <STM32_PINMUX('E', 8, AF7)>, /* UART7_TX */ <STM32_PINMUX('E', 9, AF7)>; /* UART7_RTS */ bias-disable; drive-push-pull; slew-rate = <0>; }; };************ usart3_pins_mx: usart3_mx-0 {
The hardware is STM32MP157C-DK2 board.1. We setup the test environment as below:We bridge the USB port and the Ethernet port in the ST.The throughput is about 270Mbit/sec(Limited by the usb to Ethernet convertor).2. Another test environment is:The ST is using the USB gadget functions. The USB port and the Ethernet port are bridged.Result:RNDIS: 90Mbit/sec.CDC-EEM: 110Mbit/sec.CDC-ECM: 135Mbit/sec.The performance is not good enough compared to test1.Is the speed limited by the USB-OTG controller(dwc2)?Can we change the DMA settings in the dwc2 ? Or anyway to improve the throughput? Please help!Thank you very much.
is stm32mp153 can start weston without gpu
I am going to extend some GPIO for 157 for keyboard, I found on EV board is a MCU of STM32L157 to implement, do you have any firmware information about this MCUSource code or I2C protocol, or have other similar chips
Hello. Is code for STM32MP157 is compatible for STM32MP153?I can't find description of this MPU in arm-trusted-firmware's device tree.
Hello,I am applying the second scenario of example openamp_tty_echo_wakeup.The scenario is to wake up and make the system run again from "MCU : running and MPU :Cstop".My question: When MPU goes in Cstop mode with the command "echo mem > /sys/power/state", linux user space is suspended. Can linux do something in the background in this situation ? For example saving the messages in a file coming from M4 (ch0).If not, do I need to bring MPU to Cstandby mode for this porpose ? I read the power modes in wiki, other docs and couldnt see any functional difference between MPU Cstop and MPU Cstandby. Is there any command to bring the system from MCU : running and MPU :running" to "MCU : running and MPU :Cstandby" ? (there is no example for this scenario)tnx
We need IBIS model file for STM32MP157AAD3 Processor. Please send or share the link to download.
Hello, I've try to connect to the through SSH but it's seem no sshd is running :BOARD $> ssh root@xx.xx.xx.xx BOARD $> ssh: connect to host xx.xx.xx.xx port 22: Network is unreachableBOARD $> systemctl sshd -l BOARD $> No ssh.service foundI would like to install openssh through apt but I can't found any package.Indeed /ect/apt/sources.lsit.d is empty.Currently How to manage the debian packages in OpenSTLinux distribution doesn't provide any information. Can someone told me how install openssh with apt on the board ?
I've build a docker container to run bitbake on it. I took as base this dockerfile https://hub.docker.com/r/gmacario/build-yocto/dockerfile and replacedbase image from debian to ubuntu 18.04Replaced dependencies listed at https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/index.php/PC_prerequisites#Install_extra_packagesMounted volumes to share repo/downloads/cacheOn the docker container, I set up default environment, "DISTRO=openstlinux-weston MACHINE=stm32mp1 source layers/meta-st/scripts/envsetup.sh". After running "bitbake st-image-weston", everything builds except for do_rootfs steps for st-image related recipes:Loading cache: 100% |############################################| Time: 0:00:00 Loaded 3526 entries from dependency cache. Can I develop on IAR or Keil without Linux?
Can't a7-core write firmware with a generic compiler like IAR without Linux?Like working with tools like ADS Compiler , like s3c6440 .....
On my custom board I have the following issue, when my board powers up it goes into USB DFU mode instead of booting to EMMC, despite the BOOT pins. When I reset the board manually by taking nrst down, it boots correctly. I followed AN5031. I have discrete SMPS for 3.3/1.2 and 1.35V. I have 10k pull ups on the nrst line with 0.1µF cap. NRST and NRST_CORE are connected to each other with a 0R resistor. The reset of the EMMC is also on that line. The supplies rise in about 500µs to the nominal output voltage. HSE is a 24 MHz oscillator.Any ideas?
1,What is the reason for setting the display frequency to 50HZ instead of 60HZ?2, I designed a circuit board, using mipi to HDMI chip, and found that using 60HZ frequency to drive the display will jitter.
Hello, I try to work with a STM32MP157C-DK2 board but I'm not able to detect the board.I'm on Ubuntu 18.04, I've follow the STM32MP1 wiki and install everything needed.I put the board in DFU mode (BOOT 2 & 0 on 0) but when I run STM32_Programmer_CLI -l usb I get No STM32 device in DFU mode connected.I've aslo tried with an STM32MP157A-DK1 and the same thing happened.I Currently use a 5.1V 2a power supply because I've nothing else for the moment and the usb OGT isn't plug. Do you thing that could be the cause of my problem ?I've been stuck for days with this issue, thanks for your help.
Hello.I want to reset MPU core(s) while MCU is running firmware. Such reset shouldn't stop MCU.I can make electrical changes if it can be achieved with power control. Or maybe it can be possible to use PWR (or some other) registers?
I want to use sound alarm in my M4 program or on A7 Linux side.It can be any kind of sound (beep...etc).What should I do ?Which external pheriperal can I buy , or is it possible to do it with internal pheriperals on the board and how ?tnx
Hi,I'm trying to learn world of embedded linux by trial and error, so I got myself STM32MP157c-dk2.I have followed the instructions from here: https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MP1_Developer_Packageand here: https://www.digikey.com/eewiki/display/linuxonarm/STM32MP1First tried to use only the digikey instructions, but the USB-ports are not working with that one, other than that the board was functioning. So I compiled kernel and u-boot as told in wiki.st, prepared sd-card and moved everything on the card.I tried my board with Debian: https://rcn-ee.com/rootfs/eewiki/minfs/debian-10.1-minimal-armhf-2019-09-16.tar.xzand Ubuntu: https://rcn-ee.com/rootfs/eewiki/minfs/ubuntu-18.04.3-minimal-armhf-2019-09-16.tar.xzBoard boots up and OS starts, but afrer about 30 seconds it reboots again. Here is the print from booting the board: https://pastebin.com/Z4pAKr5NAny ideas what I'm doing wrong here? Thanks.
Subject says it all, really: Go here, download the ZIP file for the 'Manufacturing files', and the 'Mechanical' folder is empty :(Looking to get the offsets of the holes from the Arduino connector so I can bolt it down well.
I need a network connection for my project. Does the network PHY have to be programmed in CM4 via LwIP ... or does communication via OpenAMP to the CA7 work? Are there examples of a simple web server that can switch a port or similar? Thank you very much for your effort.
I have a DK2 board.Downloading FSBL image for EV1 board to DK2 board through USB port on DFU by the STM32CubeProgrammer fails. Both boards use the STM32MP157C chip, but I don't understand why the download fails. Can anyone explain the reason or principle?
Hi,I am working with stm32mp157-dk2. Arduino connector CN16-pin5 is giving 5v.How can I switch on/off this pin in my M4 program ?I couldn't find a solution or example, could you please help me ?
Koan is proud to provide the unofficial Yocto Project BSP for STM32MP1 based boards. This project is not endorsed nor supported by ST.ST OpenSTLinux is based on OE, our BSP extends the use of ST meta layers with Yocto, using latest commits on the branch 2.6 'thud' on each meta layer. At the moment only ST's defined distros and images are supported out-of-the box, but you can work also with Poky ones with a little more effort. One of the most interesting features of this approach is to have the Qt5 (release 5.11.2) support on the board and being able to generate a redistributable SDK toolchain to compile your Qt5 applications.See our recent post about it : http://www.koansoftware.com/en/content/yocto-project-meta-layer-stm32mp1-koan--Marco Cavallini | KOAN sas | Bergamo - Italiaembedded software engineeringhttp://KoanSoftware.com
I was thinking that it would really useful if there was a ready to use Raspberry-Pi computing module look alike STM32MP board which could be used in development of user applications. The reason is because although ST has designed MP series to be optimized for 4Layer PCBs, the cost of 4 Layer PCB manufactoring yet is much higher than 2Layer ones. And also most of the times the PCB layout for MCUs and MPUs must remain the same around the chip. So why not provide a pre-made module for prototyping? and also if with a resonable price for productionThe module could contain an MPU + SDRAM + Flash and all the side requirements. It would bring out all the GPIOs out with probably 2mm or 1.27mm header pins (and not like RPi way which requires a DIMM socket which is not so common and usual)
