We are looking for a way to reduce programming time of STM32WB55CGU6TR.The issue we are facing is the need to program 2 different files , one for the FUS (firmware updatee service) and then another file for the main application. We need a way to speed up the programming process, one way would be to find a way to combine both files into one and program only one file.We are currently using 1.16.0 ble stackstm32wb5x_BLE_Stack_full_extended_fw.bin Please help
HelloWe are developing a LoRa product using the STM32WLE5JC, and firmware package v1.3.0.We would like to enable multiple regions. From the STM32CubeIDE we open the .ioc file, which opens up the configuration GUI. There we have the possibility of enabling multiple regions. We have chosen this antenna for the application. When multiple regions are chosen, how does this setting work exactly? Specifically, how does it work in relation to the "Active region" setting. Even though multiple regions are chosen, there can only be one active region. What is the purpose of the "Enable Hybrid mode" setting? With multiple regions enabled - consider this scenario: if a device is in the EU and then moves to the US, how will that work? With multiple regions enabled, would a sensible implementation be then to implement a downlink message to set the "active region"?Thanks
Hi,I need to program an STM32WB from a Raspberry Pi from the command line, preferably Python. I have got it up and running with my STM32FG0 but having no luck with the WB. From my understanding I need to:Program BLE Stack using FUS (Not sure how to do this using OpenOCD)Erase Application Coprocessor (Are there any specific flash banks or addresses I need to be aware of?)Program Bootloader (Should be simple)Program Application (Ideally I can do this Over The Air using the RPi's BLE but will settle for using OpenOCD if that isn't possible)I have tried using the STM32CubeProgrammer but that doesn't run on the Raspberry Pi. Any help or advice on the above would really help! Thanks,
I am using P-NUCLEO-LRWAN2 package, and Nucleo STM32 L476RG as my end node. The end node is configured as :Region and Frequency plan: EU863-870Data is transmitted at: TX on freq 868100000 Hz at DR 0, TX on freq 868500000 Hz at DR 0, TX on freq 868300000 Hz at DR 0Device EUI Is used as is generated by the MCU. AppEUI is 01:01:01:01:01:01:01:01 and AppKey: 2B:7E:15:16:28:AE:D2:A6:AB:F7:15:88:09:CF:4F:3C.... and it is registered on the TTN network on which it has the frequency plan as:Europe 863-870 MHz (SF12 for RX2).here is how gateway is configured:Device EUI: as mentioned on the packageRegion / Frequency Plan :Europe 863-870 MHz (SF12 for RX2)Also the Gateway status is Connected."No activity yet" message is displayed on the end node. Even The end device is not detected as an activity. But the Controller is sending the dummy data. joined failed message is visible on terminal through Com port. What can be the issue? why the device is not seen by the network server? Even on Loriot Gateway
Hi,I just try to get a NUCLEO-WB09KE board running.Unfortunately CubeMX (6.12.0) generates HAL files with a pattern of stm32wb0x_hal...,h but the include paths are stm32wb00x_hal (one more zero!)...Also in CubeIDE EXTI_HandleTypeDef is not found when compiling.Best regards,Achim
Hi everyone,we are currently in the design phase with a STM32WB09KE Controller.Since we are designing the Power pins we have a question regarding the MLDO Vcap Pin.On the Nucleo Board there is a Cap placed with a value of 0.22uF where does this value come from?We can't find any information regarding this pin and which value we have to connect here.If you have more information for us that would be good. Thanks in advance Sebastian
Hi,Does ST provide the S-Parameters model for the RF pins of the STM32WLE5 device in order to use it in AWR Micro wave office simulation of the RF chain of a board ? Thanks,Viola
Hi everyone,I'm new to working with STM32, and I've been using a custom board designed with the STM32C0 MCU to work with various peripherals. Now, I'm looking to create custom LoRaWAN sensor nodes that can measure data from sensors using ADC and transmit the values via LoRaWAN to a gateway. However, I'm finding the LoRaWAN stack quite complex compared to my previous experience. Previously, I was mainly editing the code generated by CubeMX in the `main.c` file and occasionally in `app_main.c` for added modularity. Now that I'm transitioning to the STM32WL series, I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed. While I'm following the "Getting Started" series from ST, it doesn't cover how to use the peripherals or where to edit the code in detail. Does anyone have advice on how to approach this or where I can find resources to help? Thanks in advance!
Hi,I am working on the STM32WB55 with FreeRTOS and using the BLE stack on CPU2. Now, I need to implement STOP mode for the entire MCU. Ideally, I would like to put CPU1 into either RUN or STOP0 mode. I am used to handling this on simpler MCUs like the STM32L0xx. Is there anything specific I should be aware of with the STM32WB55?I am working with CubeMX, and I noticed it generated files such as stm32_lpm.c and stm32_lpm_if.c. I assume these are meant to be used for my power management requirements.RUN mode is clear to me — everything runs at full speed.I want to use STOP mode to minimize power consumption, and I know I should only enter this mode when BLE is turned off (e.g., no Advertising, etc.).I plan to wake up from STOP mode using either PC13 - EXTI or the RTC.If I call the function e_BLE_AppResult BLE_AppTurnOff(void), can I then put CPU1 to sleep in the same way as, for example, the STM32L0?Thanks for your help!
Hello I need to develop low power wireless device which is suitable of making target devices to join a network. After doing research I came to a conclusion Zigbee Touchlink(TL) Initiator Sleepy End Device(SED). But STM32CubeWB does not have any Touchlink examples so currently testing with existing coordinator and router examples with their .ioc configuration changed to Touchlink. I see no problem making connection between "RFD-TL-Initiator-ED" and "FFD-TL-Target-Router" but when ED is changed to SED the connection fails. Only code difference between SED and ED is that SED does not set ZCL_TL_ZBINFO_RX_ON_IDLE flag on function APP_ZIGBEE_NwkForm(). So my question is1. Is there another way to make SED-Initiator combination work? (maybe some example codes)2. Is SED-Initiator combo not workable by Zigbee itself at the first place?3. Maybe there's something else I am missing on? Below is my current setupP-NUCLEO-WB55 with RFD stack x 1 (Initiator SED or ED)P-
We planed the BlueNRG-LPS in one of our projects to use it as a Network Co-Processor via the ACI command set and also have some code ready for that. Can we now just switch it against an STM32WB05xN and use the same commands, or is their command set different / even limited to HCI?
I have been working with stm32wb5mm- dk and these need to be configured as router and server . I followed the examples P2P server and P2P Router fromen.stm32cubewb-v1-20-0\STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.20.0\Projects\P-NUCLEO-WB55.Nucleo.I used a very old smartphone to use ST BLE STARNET application as described in the read me file . The MCU's are getting connected probably and I know this because I tried to check if the P2p server was still visible as an advertiser , it was not , so I assume it might be connected to the router. The problem is that I am unable to check anythingh about server from STARNET APPLICATION. The google drive links have everything that is needed to understand the background . If I am missing something let me know also what can be done to improve it as it take around 15 minutes for the router just to connect to the Starnet Application. [STM32WB55] Is there a BLE On/Off function?I want to enable/disable the BLE function with a button
Hi, We are using NUCLEO-WL55JC1 board for our development. we are trying to combine the project of LPTIMER and LORAWAN Slave...The Lorawan uses HAL library and LPTIMER uses LL libraries the program compiles completely and burn in to the board. but it is not going in the LPTIMER interrupt. As we have tried with both separately its working perfectly fine.... can you suggest any setting we are missing on the settings....We have tried to use separate HAL Library HAL library for LPTIMER its not working...even the sample so we have used LL library for LPTIMER and HAL Library for LORAWAN.... If anyone have idea on this please reply
1. Does these two parts have same SubGHz radio?2. NUCLEO-WL55JC is dual core. Is it correct that most examples use single core? If so, do they use the M0 or M4 core? Does the examples applicable to STM32WLE5JC? Does the HAL layer make the C code applicable to both parts?3. Nucleo has board support pack (BSP). What do they contain? Only simple LED and Switch port/pin pair or something more complex. We are using the bare STM32E5JC chip, not a board, so no BSP. Many thanks
Hi,I want to send sensor data from several sensors with STM32WB to another STM32WB (the main controller in my system). Unfortunately I only find examples where communication is established between STM32WB and a smartphone or similar, but not with a STM32WB as the "central".Is there any example / hints?Best regards,Achim
Even with the settings below , but when you execute the Bluetooth initialization program MX_APPE_Init(NULL),You can observe that the targeted_clock_freq of debug will be reduced from the original SYS_PLL to HSE_16MHZ !? How to run the STM32WBA52CEU6 > 32Mhz while BLE working? PLL1 Source Mux: HSEHSEPRE: / 1PLLM: / 4PLLM *N: X25AHB5 Prescaler: / 4
Hello everyone, i am developping a project using STM32WL55 lorawan and when i try to send a message to the gateway and server , the first 10 to 15 messages arrives empty with no data and after that the messages arrives normally without any problem. how to solve the problem of the first 10 to 15 messages empty payload.
Hi All,Happy New Year.I am trying to get two STM32WL55 Nucleo boards communicating with each other on the 868MHz ISM band. The structure is that one boards sends a message and the other board responds with a reply to the message received from the first board and using a third party sniffer I can monitor the data exchange between the two boards over air.The project is based of the SubGHz_Phy_PingPong project. So my problem is as follows. When Board1 sends a message to Board2. Board2 gets the message correctly and I can also see the data transmitted on Board1 on the packet sniffer. Both boards are running the same code as shown below. The problem is that when Board2 responds to the message sent by Board1. Board1 does not see the message even though I can confirm by looking at the sniffer that the message was sent by Board2.uint8_t rxbuffer[MAX_APP_BUFFER_SIZE]; uint8_t debug[MAX_APP_BUFFER_SIZE*3]; static void OnRxDone(uint8_t *payload, uint16_t size, int16_t rssi, int8_t Lora
Hello,I am working on a new design using the STM32WBA52CGU6. Is it possible for me to use the MLPF-WB55-01E3 to match the antenna impedance? Or what is the output impedance of this MCU?Thank you in advance.
So I have to send some data from a sensor to the LoRa gateaway for my job. The project is more complex, and a designated PCB will be created with an stm32wl55 ic to send lora and another stm ic to process data from some coils. So I need to be able to send any kind of data from the nucleo-wl55jc1 development board to the gateaway board.I followed the slide tutorial after I found this link: https://forum.digikey.com/t/add-stm32wl55-nucleo-sensor-board-to-private-lorawan-network-and-machinechat-jedi-pro-iot-platform/22130 who dirrected me to this slide:https://academy.st.com/s/learning-plan-detail-standard?ltui__urlRecordId=a6g3W000000k9iOQAQ&ltui__urlRedirect=learning-plan-detail-standard&tabset-7a350=2in Matherials/ STM32WL Workshop Slide Deck Rev2.pdfAfter I successfully joined the server, I notticed a problem with the DevNonce value ,witch is`t yet solved after 1 week of trying, that when I reset the board, the value starts from 0 or 1 again and the s
I need to program the Nucleo-wl55jc1 for work to send data via LoRa. I followed the stm tutorials and connected successfully to the lora chirpstack server. The first connection worked fine, but when reseting the nucleo, it gives some nonce error because I think the nonce value is not storred correctly in flask memory upon successful join. I searched 2 days on the internet and looking trouth the code, but unsuccessfull. Now, to take a break from this, I want to send data on the first successful join, after reseting server nonce. I found the ping pong example, but I don`t understand it well, and I want sonething like a function to send hex data via LoRa. After I have that function made, I can decode the I2C data from another sensor and send it`s data via lora once every 8h.
Hi,I want to ask an infomation about how to correctly insert some custom code in the BLE_Custom example project. I would like to modify the code in order to perform some operations to read a sensor connected to the P-NUCLEO-WB55 through I2C and than update a characteristic with the value read by the sensor. Where is the correct place in the different coding files where to perform reading operation of the sensor ? It is maybe necessary to create a task or it can be put in the main.c while true? Or it sould be inserted in the app_ble.c file where APP_BLE_Key_Button1_Action was put in the example code?Thank you.Best
I am using the STM32WB55RG nucleo board and am trying to the BLE_HeartRateFreeRTOS example.I have installed two binaries on the coprocessor, the FUS and the BLE_Stack_full_fw according the instructions in the release notes. I confirmed with STM32cubeProgrammer that the versions are 1.2.0 and 1.16.0.4 for the FUS and BLE stack, respectively. I think these should be the most up to date versions. I can build the example no problem, but when I try to run it, it disconnects from ST-LINK. No LEDs are blinking or turned on and no messages are received over the UART connection (not sure if the program does either of these things, though). I can also not see anything advertised using the st BLE toolbox app on my phone. Using breakpoints to see where the issue occurs, it seems to happen within the call to `MX_APPE_Init()` on line 183 of main.c.I will investigate and see if I can narrow it down further, but any help would be appreciated.EDIT: The issue is caused by the function APPD_INIT() that's
What would be the best way to develop firmware on the STM32WB with customized Bluetooth and using an RTOS?When using FreeRTOS, I’m unable to generate custom BLE code in CubeMX, and I’m having difficulty controlling the device’s sleep mode. It seems that the Bluetooth stack already has a mechanism for controlling sleep, but with my FreeRTOS v2, it’s not working properly.Considering the two microcontrollers: STM32WB55 and STM32WB0, do they have differences regarding this? Thanks
