For battery and small size system, STM32WLE5JC is next to a "patch antenna GNSS module", how you think about two choices?1. Use low MCU clock frequency. MCU active for LONGER time, then finish the work and go to STOP2 with RTC on. I believe low MCU freq is less noisy (but noise duration is longer), right?2. Use high MCU freq. MCU active for SHORTER time and then STOP2 with RTC on. I believe high freq is more noise (but noise duration is shorter), right?TIA
I would like to write C code for the above board. From reading, I believe the steps are as follow. Appreciate if you may help to see if any issue. TIA1. I have Nucleo F103RB (and also F401RE) to be used as ST LINK programmer2. I did firmware upgrade to Nucleo F103 and it is now ST-LINK V2 FW : V2J42M27 Debug + VCP. It will work right? Although the Nucleo WL5JC board has ST Link V4.3. I plug in the Nucleo F401 and hit the "update firmware" buttom. Current firmware is V2J43M28. It suggests to "update" to V2J42M27 Debug + mass storage + VCP. Strange the suggest upgrade is one number *LOWER* ? The Nucleo F103 also suggests upgrade to one number LOWER and I did it. I have not yet change the Nueclo F401.3. From UM1724, user manual of Nueclo F103, Remove two jumpers on CN2 connector. CN4 will become six-pin SWD to be connected to the STM32WL5JC target board.4. Does pin 1 on Nueclo F103 and F401 outputs 3.3 volts to power the ta
Is there a new "standard" way to handle time other than the original UNIX time was mentioned in AN5406 - Rev 7 - How to build a LoRa® application with STM32CubeWL, which will overflow in year 2038?TIA
Hi,I´m just starting with Matter over Thread (with the Lighting-App from github).I´m a little bit confused which binary is for which purpose, because the file various file names:- BLE_Thread_dynamic / static (from STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.19.0)- Thread_xxx (from STM32Cube_FW_WB_V1.19.0)- BLE_Thread_ForMatter (from the github example) Especially for me the difference between Thead and Thread for Matter is not clear.Which is the right one for the Github Lighting example?Best regards, Achim
Is the source code used to generate the Wireless binaries for STM32WB55 co-processor accessible?I am looking for the source code of stm32wb5x_BLE_xxxxx.bin.Regards,Bastien
Is STM32CubeWL the current HAL for use with STM32WL5JC Lora MCU? version 1.3.0 https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stm32cubewl.htmlIs the STM32Cube_FW_WL outdated and replaced by the above?TIA
Hi,I am working on a custom BLE project using STM32WB5MMG. I have already design a custom board for this project. In this project I have two different sensors and i have to read both sensors output every 1 second over the bluetooth Gatt server using a Notify. For this I am using Sequencer and Hardware time server (HW_TS) modules available with the package. My problem is that, I am able to get only one sensor working HW_TS timer. while the other HW_TS timer get successfully created (HW_TS_Create) function but cannot start with (HW_TS_Start) function.HW_TS_Start(TEMP_TIMER_ID,TEMP_UPDATE_PERIOD); -> work and fuction get call every one second.HW_TS_Start(UV_TIMER_ID,UV_UPDATE_PERIOD);-> does not call its fuctions. please help me with this problem below is the relavent code from my project:static void TEMP_APP_Init(void){UTIL_SEQ_RegTask( 1<<CFG_TEMP_ID, UTIL_SEQ_RFU, Send_Temp_Notification);/* Create timer to get the temp params and update charecteristic */uint8_t A =
(mildly off topic) To power the STM32WL5EJC, we need to make a custom board incorporating the charging and protection circuit since 30mAh Li ion cell does not have build-in protection board. Appreciate circuit diagram, for or similar to, the popular Li ion cell charging board using TP4056 and protection chip DW01A. Many thanks
Is the STM32WL5JC has TCXO oscillator for the LoRa transceiver? What is ppm frequency accuracy?I would like to send 20 bytes to maximum distance using maximum spread factor, SF12. On air time is about 1.2 seconds. From reading, standard bandwidth seems 125 kHz. I may have to reduce bandwidth to, says 30 kHz, to increase receiver sensitivity. 1. How is the oscillator frequency tolerance between two boards? Presumably, I should not reduce bandwidth too narrow toward the freq tolerance limit. Any idea on a safe value? Twice crystal ppm plus some margin, plus some for sensor at motion (says 3 to 5 miles per hour)?2. The packet tx time is "long" at 1.2 seconds. Will the oscillator drift within the tx time become significant? Seem read 'automatic frequency correction/tracking/compensation' some where? Does this chip has such facility? Is it turn on "low data rate optimization"? I can heat up the AC powered base stat

Hi all,I hope you're doing well. I'm working on a project with the STM32WB10CCU5 microcontroller and could use some help with setting up an OTA (Over-The-Air) update handler. I've searched through docs and examples but can't find a fit. Most resources are for similar models like STM32WB15 or STM32WB55.If anyone has experience with the STM32WB10CCU5 or has implemented OTA updates on it, I'd appreciate any guidance or code snippets you could share. Thanks for all,
During compilation with IAR, I ran into an error. Please refer to the picture below. Upon checking the source size via the map file, it appears as follows: After examining the RAM size, it seems that the capacity of SRAM1 is less than 12K. I believe this shouldn't cause a compilation error. What could be the cause of the compilation error?
I'm using a custom board with the STM32WL5MOC. I've noticed that the last three 32-bit words of the OTP have been written to the values: FF FF FF FF FE FF FF FF 02 00 10 38 D1 DB AF 46This makes the OTP 16 bytes shorter. Is this intentional, or is it a bug?
Hi,I've been searching for information on how to achieve a shutdown on both the MCU cores. The goal is to periodically wake the system with an RTC, read sensor data and emit a report. I have found some information on the need to set the correct flags to enable different power modes calling LL_C2_PWR_SetPowerMode(LL_PWR_MODE_SHUTDOWN); LL_PWR_SetPowerMode(LL_PWR_MODE_SHUTDOWN); But when i call HAL_PWREx_EnterSHITDOWNMode() the system still consumes about 2mA which is way over the spec. Is there any required "manual shutdowns" to achieve the lowest power level? I am using several peripherics apart from RF: I2c1, adc
Hi.Something that needs to be done FOTA while using the code, so you need to write the flash area behind it.I want to use a sash area, but it is impossible to access the document. Please tell me if you have a way to do it.
Hello,Have module bluetooths (BLE and class 1 ) please ?Thanks
Hello, In My Project I have to findout the distance between BLE Master(p2p Server) and Slave(p2p Slave) using STM32WB5MMG and i got the RSSI value using api hci_read_rssi() ,anyone help me to convert RSSI value into distance. p2p Server TxPower +3dB and p2p Client TxPower is -0.15dbB
Hi,Everything was working fine with my stm32wb55 until it suddenly decided to stop working. Now when I tried to upload the example firmware for ble p2pserver and connect to the web application provided by stm, i am able to connect, but the web application shows data throughput for a second and then the page reloads. I tried erasing the chip, and reuploading the wireless stack, but nothing seems to work. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Edit: i tried running the data throughput example and this is the serial output i was getting:>>== WIRELESS_FW_RUNNING >>== DBGMCU_GetRevisionID= 2003>>== DBGMCU_GetDeviceID= 495Success: SHCI_C2_BLE_Init command==>> Start Ble_Hci_Gap_Gatt_Init functionSuccess: hci_reset commandSuccess: aci_hal_write_config_data command - CONFIG_DATA_PUBADDR_OFFSETPublic Bluetooth Address: 00:80:e1:27:d6:6fSuccess: aci_hal_write_config_data command - CONFIG_DATA_IR_OFFSETSuccess: aci_hal_write_config_data command - CO
hello im doing a school project using a Nucleo-F411RE with a I-NUCLEO-LRWAN1 expansion, anyone got a good text or video tutorial how i connect the two boards?im using the stm32cubeide
Hi All,I am new in Zigbee programming and I like to get some starting point to make server-client model. Up to now, I am using STM32CubeIDE tool to program with .ioc file to setting up the HW. Eventually I would like to use STM32WB5MMG processor and Zigbee for server-client communication. What I know is that I need to enable the RF, RTC and HSEM to activate the Zigbee in this DK (and my PCBA). After this, I think there would be some code to start Zigbee for SW-wise, then some APIs to send data into Zigbee network. I tried to see the ST provided examples, but could not understand well how to1. start zigbee network: is there any APIs for this? If one side is a server side and the other side is client side, how I can do?2. APIs to send and receive data: I assume there is some callback function to receive. Is there pre-defined callback function to receive Zigbee data? How about to send data to Zigbee network?3. Any example to call APIs from main() or sub-functions in commninity?4. How to d
Hi everyone, I am trying to build my custom BLE application with CubeMX (v6.11.0) and STM32CubeIDE: v1.15.0 using a STM32WB55 with FW package: v.1.19.0.Due to its other functions I would like to use ThreadX for that. However, when generating code with CubeMX it always uses the sequencer files for the BLE application (other features work well). Is there any way to generate BLE files based on ThreadX? Or if not, at least an option to stop overwriting my app_ble.c if I have changed it manually once?I can run the Heartrate app with ThreadX but now want to move to a custom BLE application. (sequencer is not enabled in CubeMX, but AZ-RTOS is) Thanks,Lo
Hi CommunityHope you guys are well. I am trying to implement Bluetooth and emulated eeprom working. i have followed the ble_heartrate_eeprom_emul example and i got blue tooth and eeprom emulation working, the problem i am having is when the EEPROM emulation is implement my function in custom_stm.c does not work properly, for example when i used any of the GPIO, the controller goes into hard fault, and current went from 0.013A to 0.150A , but as soon as i remove the eeprom emulation code , everything works perfectly. so basically i cant get my things working when there is eeprom emulation , i have tried to release the semaphore 7 in my function but still the same. there is one more thing, in app_entry.c we have default code , check file attached, but the ble heart rate eeprom emulation tell us to put this code, check file attached, and if i put that code and generate the code again from cubemx it is removed.Assistance is appreciated!
What are pro and con? Re-charge cycle few days to few weeks. STM32WLE5JC. TIA
Hello,I'm working on an application that uses the NUCLEO-WL55JC development board. I was looking in the SubGHz_Phy_PingPong example code, and I noticed a macro called SX_FREQ_TO_CHANNEL. To use this macro, it seems you input the carrier wave frequency you want to transmit at, and it converts it to the value you pass as an array of 8-bit numbers to HAL_SUBGHZ_ExecSetCmd(&hsubghz, RADIO_SET_RFFREQUENCY, array, arr_len).So if I want to transmit at 868 MHz, I give that value to SX_FREQ_TO_CHANNEL, which outputs 910,163,968. But why is SX_FREQ_TO_CHANNEL needed at all? Why can't I pass 868,000,000 directly in the RADIO_SET_RFFREQUENCY packet?I think it has something to do with the RF-PLL frequency, but I don't understand. Can someone help explain why RADIO_SET_RFFREQUENCY doesn't actually set RF-PLL to frequency included in the packet? Thanks in advance.
Hi ! I read the datasheet, and it says: "The receive chain comprises a differential low-noise amplifier (LNA), a down-converter tolow-IF by mixer operation in quadrature configuration". 1. What is the GAIN and the NF of the diff. LNA ? 1.a Is it also the NF of the LORA ? 2. Can I add another amplifier (LNA) at the input ? Thanks, Kosta
