Posted on December 22, 2016 at 08:52Hello,Greetings,I am working on a STM32F103 Micro-controller Board that has interfaced with TFT LCD having ST7735 controller.Micro-controller: STM32F103RGT6Flash Memory: 1 MBRAM Memory: 96 KBIDE: IAR Embedded WorkbenchST Library: HAL Library & STemwin for GraphicsI am trying to add STemWin Library in program but as I am adding it in code, the program doesn't move to entry point on debug i.e. main(). I have tried following approaches to fix it.1. Changing Linker File data (RAM Range, ROM Range, Stack and Heap Size) [File_1]2. Changing memory allocation in LCDConf.c and GUIConf.c that allocates memory to STemWin.[File_2]3. Changing IAR Settings in debugger 'Tick and Untick' > Run to 'main'[File_3]I have attached all the related files.Observation : All the registers including PC are not initialising with their initial values on debug. It would be highly appreciated for any kind of suggestion or options.Thank you in advance.Priyank#stemwin #st7735
Posted on December 18, 2016 at 13:12Hi, I'm creating the project using STemWin, and FreeRTOS on STM32F407IGT. My program is blocked in GUI_Init function. I'm not sure how to check what is wrong, set up in wrong way(?).The R2 and R3 registers are loaded, and next they are compared. These values are not equal, so that's why the program remains in the same place. When I set PC on 0x800695A address, the program runs correctly, LCD is initialized, and FreeRTOS runs. Could someone point me, what should I check to fix this?I'm using FreeRTOS 8.2, and STemWin 5.32#stm32f407 #freertos #stemwin
Posted on August 20, 2016 at 17:01HelloI am using StemWin on the StM32F429-Eval Board.I used the GuiBuilder to define a dialog box where I added an imagewidget including a jpeg format picure. The result is that dialog box is well displayes on the screenbut not the jpeg picure. I tried different format but with the same result. However if I created an image with GUI_DrawBitmap() then it works fine.I have found another user with the same problem.http://forum.segger.com/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=1886Seggers says that we should contact STM for this problem. I hope you can help me. #pictures #stemwin #dialog-box
Posted on December 16, 2016 at 11:01Hi!Try to construct project with Keil MDK5 for weak STM32F103RB. Run-Time Environment Manager refuses to include Graphics in my project. Is there any certain limitation for this or may be i do something wrong? So, how....Thanks in advance.#graphics-for-stm32f103
Posted on November 24, 2016 at 11:08Hello , i have a STM324x9I-EVAL board with DCMI interface. I can grab images correctly for 5-7 times, after that i get Errorcode 3 HAL_DCMI_ERROR_TIMEOUT. how can i recover from that? i tried : - suspend, startDCMI -stop, startDCMI -deinit, initDCMI ,startDCMI i have a main cyclus which polls for the error with low repetition and after the error occurs it always enters the errorroutine again. No interrupt is fired for DCMI at all after it. the camera is still sending data, i confirmed that with osci. #stm32f429-dcmi-timeout
Posted on November 23, 2016 at 12:52Hi, I am trying the Jpeg decoder hardware on the 769-disco board. It seems that the time it takes to decode a Jpeg is around 40 CLKs per pixel. However, I read somewhere in an ST document (http://www.st.com/content/ccc/resource/training/technical/product_training/group0/9b/0b/70/51/69/dd/44/8d/STM32F7_Peripheral_JPEG/files/STM32F7_Peripheral_JPEG.pdf/_jcr_content/translations/en.STM32F7_Peripheral_JPEG.pdf) that decoding should be around 1 CLK per data pixel. Can you please explain? Thanks, Nimrod #jpg #jpeg
Posted on November 22, 2016 at 10:10i'm trying to display a visual output by using TVP5150AM1 Decoder and STM32F429II MCU.Is it possible to get CCIR656(TVP5150AM1) format with DCMI(STM32F429II) input? (On manual it's possible)If it is, How do I configure the settings of DCMI_ESCR register and DCMI_ESUR register?Visual format is NTSC 720*480, CCIR656(Embedded data synchronization mode). If there are any reference manual or data, please inform me. #ccir656 #dcmi #stm32f429
Posted on November 17, 2016 at 20:43Hello all, I am trying to configure my STM32F407VGT in CubeMX and am coming across an issue with the DCMI and FSMC. I am interfacing an OVM7690 camera chip to the microcontroller via DCMI. The OVM7690 requires an 8-bit external synchronous connection which configures just fine in CubeMX. However, when I go to configure the FSMC, it doesn't allow me to select a Muxed PSRAM configuration because of the DCMI configuration, which is what I also need to interface to the micro. I assume it is because both of those peripherals can't be used at the same time but I don't see anything in the data sheet that says why that is. Does anyone know the reason? Is the best solution to upgrade to a 144 pin version?Thank you in advance. #stm32f4-fsmc-dcmi-psram
Posted on November 12, 2016 at 15:42hi.I drive ov2640 camera with stm32f407 by DCMI and DMA. I can get image with 160*120 resolution, so I shoud use uint16_t buff[19200] for this resolution. The problem is if I want to use higher resolution for example 640*480 my stm32 should have 307200*2 byte for storing the image receiving from dma to the buffer. but there is no such space in stm32f407. could you please guide me? is there any way to get the image data in a smaller part!? #stm32f407 #ov2640 #buffer-size
Posted on September 30, 2016 at 15:19I have a Problem with the DCMI with a STM32F429: - i use DCMI in ''Slave 8 bits Embedded Synchro'' - the video input is ''IT-R BT656'' (8bit data + LLC[clock]) Configuration asks for Synchrocodes -FrameStart -FrameEnd -LineStart -LineEnd >>>unfortunately i cannot determine these, or is it possible at all? from what i understand there are 4 bytes at the beginning/End of Frame/Scanline called SAV/EAV but theese codes seem to change during lines. That would require me to change the SynchroCodes after each line??? what am i missing or is it technically not possible? tnx in advance #stm32f429-dcmi-itu-rb656
Posted on November 04, 2016 at 13:14Hi. I'm working with a STM32F769I-DISCO board. I've generated a project created with ST32Cube. I've selected LTDC -> ''RG888 (24 bits) DSI'' and I've enabled DMA2D. I'm comparing with the LCD_DSI example. I've seen that in the LCD_DSI example uses DSI, but in the code generated with Cube DSI is disabled (HAL_DSI_MODULE_ENABLED is not defined, even i've selected ''RG888 (24 bits) DSI''). Am I missing something? Must I select something else? #dsi #st32cubemx #stm32f769i-disco
Posted on November 08, 2016 at 10:22Hello,I am developing an application that has:1. LCD Touchscreen2. STM32F4693. External Flash on QSPI4. External SRAMOther peripherals shall be an RS232 controller, a Wi-Fi Module and 2 flow meters.I have to acquire data from the flow meters and display it on the screen. The data has to be sent to a server over a Wi-Fi Connection.Size of the screen: 7 inchesInterface: RGB parallel, 24bitsSize of SRAM 8MB.Size of Flash: 16MB.I have a few basic questions with this implementation.1. How are the screens stored in the flash memory? What would be the procedure to program them in the flash memory? Can it bedone at the time of programming the microcontroller?2. What is the procedure to display the screens on the LCD? The screens stored in the flash, have to be copied to the RAM and then they can be sent to the LCD, is this assumption correct? 3. I believe that the LCD shall be interfaced to the micro controller on LTDC. Though I do not fully
Posted on November 01, 2016 at 18:34Hello,I try launch showing image with 1024*768*24/16 resolution. But I see bad image and many bugs on screen.I get timing from here: http://tinyvga.com/vga-timingI have static image.I get LTDC outputs, connect this to adapter to VGA. My display detects 1024*768 60Hz and I see pixel's dance.P.S. I try 640*480.. and it works bad. #dma2d #stm32f7 #ltdc #vga
Posted on October 30, 2016 at 23:19Hello everybody, I've got a NTSC camera with decoder which delivers me 480x272 image data in 4:2:2 YCbCr format. NTSC has the characteristic to transmit every second line. First the odd frame 1, 3, 5, ..., 271 (480x136). Then the even frame 2, 4, 6, ..., 272 (480x136). I receive everything and in single buffer mode it's working fine. I have to work on the frame to extract the luminance channel (later on calculate RGB) and it begins flickering a little bit when I use both frames. With only one it's working fine. So I want use DMA in double buffer mode that I can work on one frame during the other is coming in. That odd and even frames are stored in different buffers. My hardware is the STM32F746 Discovery board. For single buffer mode I use the functionHAL_DCMI_Start_DMA(&hDcmiHandler, DCMI_MODE_CONTINUOUS, CAMERA_BUFFER, 0x7F80); inside this function it calls the HAL_DMA_Start_IT(hdcmi->DMA_Handle, (uint32_t)&hdcmi->Instance->DR, (ui
Posted on October 28, 2016 at 15:26Hey, I have some trouble configuring my camera interface. I am using an analog NTSC camera with differential data lines. For decoding it into digital YCbCr 4:2:2 I am using the Intersil TW9990. I think I configured it more or less right because I am receiving VSYNC, HSYNC and data. Only I am not sure because I have the possibility to crop the image with the TW9990 too. And also I don't know if the vsync and hsync lines must be active all the time during transmitting active lines/pixels. Does anybody of you know it? Because I can't find any good description for the DCMI interface. So now configuring my STM32F746 Discovery Board to continue with these received data. I want store the data via dma in the external sdram. I know I am receiving 8 bit data by each pixel clock. Can I configure the dma as followed? /*** Configure the DMA ***/ /* Set the parameters to be configured */ hdma_handler.Init.Channel &n
Posted on October 14, 2016 at 09:21Hello everybody; I have several questios about the usage of the stemwin librarie. I would like to have some help to solve them. I have use the templates of the stemwin librarie to perform a driver for my tft. It have a 24bit rgb interface. I am using the DVRLIN24 to drive the display. The driver have by default the address 0 to start writing. If I change that value to the value of the firs address of the LCD register or the internal SRAM1 the code break(hard faul interrupt). If I do not change nothing, my code works but nothin it is done by the display. I have read in this forum that stm32f429 do not have enought RAM to use the stemwin librarie without an external RAM, and if you want to use that you have to malloc some RAM space. My problem is: Where y have to write the info i want to send to the display. Also reading the templates code, i understand that i have to program by hand 4 functions in the config files. This functions are: Draw rect, disp
Posted on October 06, 2016 at 09:38Hello Folks, I am working on stm32f407vg EVM, I have interfaced MIDAS LCD using SPI. The LCD has ST7735s controller. Now I am able to make manual patterns of check box, circle and screen colour randomly but I need GUI to be implemented so I have chosen STemWin library , the library is ''STemWin522_CM4_IAR''. I read the user & reference guide of stemwin and found that I can go with ''GUIDRV_FlexColor'' drivers. I have done configurations in LCDconf.c (I have attached here). In GUIconf.c my configurations are as per below. &sharpdefine GUI_NUMBYTES (1024) * 15 // // Define the average block size // &sharpdefine GUI_BLOCKSIZE 0x128 I have initialised LCD controller before GUI_INIT(), I have also added ''RCC_AHB1PeriphClockCmd(RCC_AHB1Periph_CRC, ENABLE);'' But unfortunately after returning from ''LCD_X_DisplayDriver()'' function I am getting Hard fault so I need to understand why I am getting hard-fault and is
Posted on October 03, 2016 at 14:43I have a STM32F407 board and I need to drive 480*272 TFT with touch. I am new to TFT and Graphics. After some reading/Googling I have decided to use STemWin for the graphics which ST provides free. I plan to start work from a CubeSTM32F4 example with STemwin Hello world example. I plan to use parrellel 6800 interface between LCD and MCU which I belive can be implemented by modifying low level functions in the Cube example. On going through the examples in CubeF4, it seems to me that other than the simple Hallo world, other examples are implemented on a board with external SD RAM. So I would like to know weather my hardware and software plan is ok for a decent UI. My TFT LCDS is with built in Driver RA8875 chip. 6800 8/16 bit interface is also available. My UI is for a machine where I need to do some settings menu, buttons and some parameters display. Please give some inputs regarding the pros and cons I need to be aware before choosing hardware
Posted on December 22, 2015 at 10:08Hello. I need to choose a LCD for our project, which will be tested on the 32f746discovery. What is the chip of the discovery LCD, thus I would not need to do any changes in software developing our own PCB. Thanks. #rk043fn48h-rk043fn55h-lcd
Posted on July 10, 2015 at 18:03 Hello, I received my STM32F746G-DISCO board 2 days ago, and I am trying to get the TFT-LCD module work, but I am having difficulties with the configuration of the FMC.I am struggling with the timing configuration for the SDRAM. I think I got it right for the most part, but I still can't access the memory. My FMC initialization function is the following: void MX_FMC_Init( void ) { FMC_SDRAM_TimingTypeDef SdramTiming; /** Perform the SDRAM1 memory initialization sequence */ hsdram1.Instance = FMC_SDRAM_DEVICE; /* hsdram1.Init */ hsdram1.Init.SDBank = FMC_SDRAM_BANK1; hsdram1.Init.ColumnBitsNumber = FMC_SDRAM_COLUMN_BITS_NUM_8; hsdram1.Init.RowBitsNumber = FMC_SDRAM_ROW_BITS_NUM_11; hsdram1.Init.MemoryDataWidth = FMC_SDRAM_MEM_BUS_WIDTH_16; hsdram1.Init.InternalBankNumber = FMC_SDRAM_INTERN_BANKS_NUM_4; hsdram1.Init.CASLatency = FMC_SDRAM_CAS_LATENCY_2; hsdram1.Init.WriteProtection = FMC_SDRAM_WRITE_PROTECTION_DISABLE; hsdram1.Init.SDClockP
Posted on September 17, 2016 at 21:02 Hi Everyone, I am interfacing an ssd1289 TFT controller with stm32f427 , I have an old code with stm32f407 and standard peripherallibrary , I tried to use stm32f4cube helloworld example to run my first demo on the stm32f427 processor with using HAL libraries. While trying porting example running on an stm32f407 processor to stm32f427 one. first I changed all FSMC to FMC , then I changed the address of writing to be #define LCD_BASE_Data ((u32)(0x60000000|0x00100000)) #define LCD_BASE_Addr ((u32)(0x60000000|0x00000000)) #define LCD_CMD (*(vu16 *)LCD_BASE_Addr) #define LCD_Data (*(vu16 *)LCD_BASE_Data) I changed the FMC memory Bank to 1 as I am using addresses in that location and the old code of the stm32f407 was using Bank 1 too , But the weird thing is that it didn't work untill I changed the bank number back to 3. then it worked and I saw the Hello world string on the blank screen. My question is how this is happening

Posted on September 14, 2016 at 07:50Hello,Does ST have a list of compatible DCMI cameras that work with embedded synchronization?(That work with the STM32Fx family.)Are there any example schematics?A list of the cameras would be helpful. Thanks,John W. #dcmi
Posted on September 07, 2016 at 15:24Hi, I'm using a local 3rd party evaluation board(waveshare--open103z) which use the STM32F103Z for the core controller. And I connect a LCD display module(HY32D) whose display chip is ILI9325. Now I wanna display a BMP picture on LCD, is there any example source code or library I can reference? Currently I can just only display character or strings. Thanks! #stm32f103z #tft-lcd
