I tried a search, but couldn't find the information. This is probably basic and simple, but I just couldn't find how to do it.I'm trying to bring up the Simulator peripheral window so I can emulate the key presses of the joystick in the STM32L4R9I-DISCO kit. I tried the code on the target and it works,a but in simulator I can't see the peripheral window to enter key presses using the keyboard. Thanks for the help!Update: I tried pressing every key on the keyboard, but it still doesn't seem to bring up any peripheral console in simulator. Is there a code snipped that needs to be inserted? I'll check some example and see if I can dig anything up.
I'm attempting to find a good way of providing a simple piece of inline code that can be executed to switch screen based on a third-party variable. The idea is to have one single event to trigger a screen switch, but letting the variable determine which.Since I am doing this before design-time (i.e. before I let someone else open the designer and create/design the actual screens) I can't know what the specific screens will be. My idea was to use the appSwitchScreen(uint8_t screenId) method in the application-class, but I understand it is just an empty virtual function that you have to implement yourself. It would be very convenient to be able to represent every screen switch by a simple integer value, but is this possible in the way I explained above? Is there an array of screen instances somewhere in the touchgfx API that is easily accessible?
EDIT: After some debugging, I found that the answer is 'yes'. The current screen always has a memory allocation on the heap, and when a new screen is switched to, and simply replaces the old one.ORIGINAL QUESTION:How are screen instances maintained when not being displayed?I'm attempting to create a function that can perform screen switching between screens independent of the methods of any one specific screen. This is to reduce the number of interactions required to switch between screens, and to put a level of abstraction on top of the specific screens themselves.A problem that I can't get my head around is how to store the screen instances in a globally accessible data layer. Since the easiest way (at least from what I have found) to do this is letting the View class pass a sliced version (i.e. the Screen class) of itself to that data layer. The code to perform this operation once for every new screen is put in the constructor of the View class. But the View class constructor seems to
Hi I am using STM32F469 Disco Board. In TouchGFX Progress Indicator example the images gets blurred if i placed all the images in external nor flash. But if i placed the same images in internal flash, then it is working fine. What is the issue in this. I'm using Atollic True studio.
Hi all,I'm starting with touch GFX on STM32F429 discovery, I find the firmware example, but I want to have the cubeMx template project for the STM32F429 discovery example ?Can ST share it ?the second issue that I'm facing is that sometimes when working with touch GFX designer I have the following error : "Error during code generation" and when occurred I can't anymore Run Target and simulator, so I'm obliged to create another new project. Can anyone tell me how to solve this issue please ?Thx
Hello All,I want to make a font library to support multiple languages, it has to store all the necessary characters inside. With the language with less characters like English, Italian, Deutsche .... we can store it to internal flash. But when including Simplified Chinese characters it did not enough space to put them all together, it has too much characters (more than 400 compare with 128 of ASCII)STemWin supports us to convert the TTF font file to c source file which be used to font creating routine. (GUI_TTF_CreateFont())1 - I did follow the example code from STemWin spec and it worked fine.GUI_TTF_CS Cs0, Cs1; GUI_TTF_DATA Data; GUI_FONT Font0, Font1; // // Set parameters for accessing the font file // Data.pData = aTTF; // Address Data.NumBytes = sizeof(aTTF); // Size // // Set creation parameters of first font // Cs0.pTTF = &Data; // Use address of GUI_TTF_DATA Cs0.PixelHeight = 24; // Pixel height Cs0.FaceIndex = 0; // Initialize to 0 // // Set creation parameters of second f
I am interested in designing a product that has an LCD built into it. Up until now I have worked with the HMI type LCD's that you interface to by Serial with commands and now I am looking at actual LCD interface to make use of ST's GUI featureset (https://www.st.com/content/st_com/en/stm32-graphic-user-interface.html)With this in mind can anyone give any pointers the LCD interfaces and where to actually source these LCD's from. When I google there are lots of different options including ones from China I am looking for advice on the best value for money and reliable supply. My application is to have a touch screen no bigger than a 5inch phone that will allow the user to operate the device interactively.
Hi TouchGFX, Which tool are you using for designing the UI? like background images, clock needle etc
Hello all, We are working on STM32F429 Discovery board. Following are the steps we followed to create a project in TrueStudio using CubeMX and TouchGFXCreate a project in CubeMX by defining STM32F429 Discovery board .Do the configuration in GRAPHICS as shown in the screenshot as an attachment herewithGenerate the codeOpen TouchGFX project throuch "Execute" button on the same screenAdd a simple image in TouchGFXGenerate the code in TouchGFXAgain open CubeMX and generate the code in TrueStudioCompile the project created in TrueStudio containing CubeMX with UI created in TouchGFXBut this results in compilation and linking errors as shown in below screenshots Please help me with the solution to above errorsUPDATE:One more change I did in testing today.Create a CubeMX project with GRAPHICS enabledGenerate the code and compile it in TrueSTUDIO without any touchGFX interface attached to it.RESULT: Same compilation errors as aboveThere are no compilation/linking errors without GRAPHICS en
Guidance to porting in ATTOLIC true studio will also be very helpful

I downloaded the latest STM32 Cube package for the F4 (ver 1.23.0). I'm trying to build Projects\STM32469I-Discovery\Demonstrations\TouchGFX\SW4STM32\STM32469I-Discovery using the free System Workbench (latest 32-bit version 2.7 on Windows 10). The build goes ok and I can run it but I don't see anything on my STM32F469I-DISCO display. Should this work? Is there a way to build and re-load the code that came originally with the STM32F469I-DISCO eval board?
I'm working on a project which is to make a menu driven program (using True studio and cube mx) on TFT LCD in STM3210E- EVAL board. And I'm totally new to this embedded field. Can someone please help me as to how to go about it? I really dont know from where to start as i dont know how to display a string in lcd.
Hi,I wasn't sure where to post this, as this isn't really a question but more of a finding.. I've been using CubeMx 5.xx (was also using the prior 3.xx versions)... I am using an STM32H7, with many of the modules enabled... I was only using code generated by CubeMX to test the processor startup and make sure things initialized, when I found this problem...It kept crashing during JPEG init, until I finally tracked it down to a stack size problem in IAR (TrueStudio does not have this problem, as they set 'min' stack sizes, but not a hard/fixed size as IAR does)static HAL_StatusTypeDef JPEG_DCHuff_BitsVals_To_SizeCodes(JPEG_DCHuffTableTypeDef *DC_BitsValsTable, JPEG_DC_HuffCodeTableTypeDef *DC_SizeCodesTable) { HAL_StatusTypeDef error; uint32_t k; uint32_t l; uint32_t lastK; uint8_t huffsize[257]; *** 257 bytes required *** uint32_t huffcode[257]; *** 1028 bytes required *** . . .The above function, as part of the huffman table setups, requires 0x505 bytes on the stack, but t
Helloi want to pass variable value from model to view.Model has get functionuint8_t Model::getLanguage(){ return (md_language);}Presenter also :uint8_t LanguagePresenter::getLanguage(){ return(model->getLanguage());}LanguageView::LanguageView() {selected_language = presenter->getLanguage();}when Presenter function is executed i have an exception : the model pointer is null.If i put breakpoint i can see model object is created before presenter and view. Why model pointer is null in prsenter function ?I can we get data from model ?thanksregards
I am working on porting STemWin VNC server to my board based on STM32F407VGT6.I am using 3.5inch 480 x 320 TFT LCD through parallel interface with FSMC.LCD works find on embedded board. But while I am trying to connect with VNC(emVNC or RealVNC Client), VNC Client screen is something odd, Image and characters look split tiny several parts. Mouse and touch works fine so far on both embedded LCD and VNC client screen. Thanks in advance.
Hi there,I'm new to touchgfx and started with problems.Designing a GUI makes fun and is easy. At the end I can't view the result with the PC simulator. Loading the simulator tooks verry long and ends with an Windows error.I'm using windows 10 x64Are there known issues with Windows 10 like the one I have? How can I work around?RegardsChristian
Install the TouchGFX 4.10.0 failed:
We have incorporated a new touchscreen into our product and the button press and release events seem to be generated at the correct times. If I hold my finger on the button I receive a number of cancel events in between the press and release.I put in some debugging code and verified that my sampleTouch method is returning true and filling in the correct screen coordinates on each call while my finger remains on the button. I can't determine why the cancel events are being generated.Any guidance you could provide would be appreciated.
Hi,in the TouchGFX Designer I created a new Application with the Aplication Template STM32L4R9I Discovery. I used the UI Template TouchGFXWatch specified for the Discovery board. When I now click on "RunTarget" I'll get an Error that the target is not reachable. The ST-Link from the Discovery board is present. What is wrong? Have I forgotten something?RegardsChristian
Hi, I am using Touch GFX 4.10.0 on a STM32F769 CPU.I have been trying to make a fade animation on an image.I tried on Image widgets as well as ScallableImage widgets. It just does not work. You can set the alpha at startup in the ViewBase constructor where all the elements get defined, but after that if you try calling it from a View.cpp file at run time, it will not do anything even if you invalidate the widget after changing its alpha value.I can do it just fine with a TextAera widget but not an image. So I decided to try something really simple. In Touch GFX designer, I created a new project and added an image. I set an interaction to do a fade animation when the screen gets entered. Well, this does not do anything either, even in the simulator!I tried to apply the same to a text area and it worked just fine (although it is not very clear what all the parameters do).So seems to me that the setAlpha function of the image or scallable image is broken.Unless I am missing an important det
When coupling the view and presenter classes with third-party, low-level code, you currently need to write new functions on every new class generated by the designer.I'm not sure if it's possible through ATs, but is it possible to add those functions any other way so that the designer will add my code to every newly generated view class?
Hi I've migrated our project from 4.9.3 to 4.10.0. Now I'm getting an exception when im running the simulator in visual studio 2017.The error ocurrs when the program will execute the following line (189) within HALSDL2.cppif (SDL_Init(SDL_INIT_VIDEO | SDL_INIT_TIMER) < 0)The error only ocurrs in the release-configuration in visual studio.Everything else works fine:Simulator in Visual Studio with debug-configurationSimulator In designerIn IAR/on hardwareWith touchgfx 4.9.3 the simulator works with debug and release configuration within visual studioWhen i'm creating a new Project with the designer, everything works fine. I've already compared the files and configuration of visual studio, but did not found a difference which solves the problem.Has anyone a suggestion what the problem can be?I've attached the call stackThanks in advance
