Hi STMicroelectronics team,I am using VIPER22ADIP-E to design 15V, 5W power supply with input supply of 230Vac with diode bridge rectifier. The schematics file is attached here,When i am loading it with 5W load, the IC  VIPER22ADIP-E is get heated and frequently turning off due to internal thermal protection. However, IC's power rating is recommended up to 12W (for US i.e. 85-265Vac) and  20W (European i.e. 195- 265V) is provided in datasheet. What is wrongs in design? Please suggest solution. Thanks and RegardsPemendra Kumar PardhiSr. Design EngineerCastNX Pvt. Hi Folks,I don't know what I did but the IDE is giving me a error message that I've never seen before. Here's a screen capture of the messages. It's saying that "_close is not implemented and will always fail". Is there a Project|Properties that I need to change?  Thanks, Richard

Hello everyone,I am having trouble communicating with CC1101 radio SPI slave. With HAL, the transfers work well and I am able to read every register, but because I am using stm32f042 MCU, I'm low on flash memory because I'm also using USB CDC. So I'm trying to control the SPI1 peripheral using it's registers. Here is the code for the transfer and the init:void SPI1_Init(void) { /* full duplex master, 8 bit transfer, default phase and polarity */ SPI1->CR1 = SPI_CR1_MSTR | SPI_CR1_SPE | SPI_CR1_SSM | SPI_CR1_SSI; /* Disable receive FIFO*/ SPI1->CR2 = SPI_CR2_FRXTH;}void SPI1_Transfer(uint8_t *outp, uint8_t *inp, int count) { while(count--) { while(!(SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_TXE)) ; *(volatile uint8_t *)&SPI1->DR = *outp++; while(!(SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_RXNE)) ; *inp++ = *(volatile uint8_t *)&SPI1->DR; }} The problem is that it gets stuck on the while(!(SPI1->SR & SPI_SR_TXE)) loop. It seems the TXE flag is never set. I also have initialized MISO, MOSI

Hello,I am using STM32H7 dual core series. My STM32CubeIDE works fine when I am using HSI. But whenever I set the configuration to HSE, I am getting Break at address "0xa05f0000" with no debug information available, or outside of program code error. I tried different crystals, 8MHz & 25MHz, but this issue still persists.Could you please tell me where exactly I am doing things wrong? Is the crystal setting just a reason for the error but the actual error is something different? Please guide.- Regards,Hrishikesh

Hi.implementing a SPI master (NOT using HAL) with software based SS i am searching for the right way to detect the end of a transmission to release the SS again.EOT (in SPI_SR) gets set when the last Bit is is set to the MOSI Lane. --> so this is too early since the there is a full clock cycle remaining until SS should be reset. Is there any Signal that could be used to know that the Transfer on the SPI BUS is full finished? Using the Hardwaree SS is working fine But since I have a multi-slave environment I would like to use software based SS.

Hello, I'm Used To Use MobaTools Library To Run Stepper Motors In My Projects With Arduino Nano. But Now I'm Working On A Project With STM32 Board And Just Found Out That MobaTools Doesn't Support In STM32. So, I Wanted To Know If Anyone Know Alternative Of MobaTools Library To Control Stepper Motors ? Thanks For Your Considerations Even If You're Just Going To Read And Skip And Any Help Is Much Appreciated.

When transmitting with a UART on this H747 board, a sent string will only get through two characters before HAL_UART_Transmit() hangs. No matter how I format the string (e.g., with or without snprintf() ), this same behavior occurs for UART8 and UART4.HOWEVER, what I found is that I simply change the number of stop bits from 1 to 2, the entire string successfully transmits. The timeout value in HAL_UART_Transmit() has no effect (I've tried up to 1000).The attached file shows the UART configuration details. The picture doesn't show these settings shown below. No other settings (NVIC, DMA, GPIO) have been altered from their default settings.TX and RX Pins Swapping - DisableOverrun - EnableDMA on RX Error - EnableMSB First - DisableDoes anyone have any idea why 2 stop bits work but 1 fails?

Hello everyone,I am trying to use both USB CDC and SPI on a STM32F042F6P6 MCU. Unfortunately, without even writing almost any code (just an HAL_SPI_TransmitReceive() and a CDC_Transmit_FS()) it says the flash memory overflows by 1484 bytes. Is this normal? If so, is there a way reduce the amount of flash consumed by these peripherals? For my application it does not need much code either, just needs to respond to basic commands over USB and write registers over SPI.I will leave my entire main() too:int main(void){/* USER CODE BEGIN 1 *//* USER CODE END 1 *//* MCU Configuration--------------------------------------------------------*//* Reset of all peripherals, Initializes the Flash interface and the Systick. */HAL_Init();/* USER CODE BEGIN Init *//* USER CODE END Init *//* Configure the system clock */SystemClock_Config();/* USER CODE BEGIN SysInit *//* USER CODE END SysInit *//* Initialize all configured peripherals */MX_GPIO_Init();MX_SPI1_Init();MX_USB_DEVICE_Init();/* USER CODE BEGI

Hello. To generate a multiplatform code I defined a SW architecture and packaging as follow :Build system :Vendor package can use the cdt project to generate the BSP (cdt builder is the only toolchain supported for system init code generation )Application is created as cmake project created by stmCubeIDE (new in stmcube ide 1.13) and links to the BSP.At first sight the APP would be a complete application and the  LLD a library providing only the HAL calls. That would mean that the APP hosts :Startup codeLinker scriptInterrupt.I am not sure the HAL could work with independently defined interrupt handler so I let those be part of LLD except the linker script (present but not used). The LLD package contains :System init (peripheral and clocks, interrupt handler, startup code)The main() (that can be changed though, but I’m lazy about calling the init function in the right order).Progress summaryIssue to create the HAL as library : it needs to be configured as a full binary. Hello every body.I hope you are doing well.We are designing a smart card reader can communicate with java cards both contact and contactless. Our MCU is STM32F405RGT6 and we want to use ST8024L for contact section. For contactless section we decided to use ST25 series. We want to be sure all ST25 can communicate with all java cards and can send/receive APDU commands to/form java card.We want to use the most cost effective ST25 for this purpose, any suggestions please?Best Regards.

Hello,I wanted to enquire about the price for STSW-SPC5-MCAL package. Where can I find the details or to whom I need to contact for the same.TIA .

I'm trying a simple blinking LED on a STM32H743VIT6 with STM32CubeIDE 1.13.2, using the clock configuration wizard. When the clock rate is set to 90MHz everything is fine, but at 480MHz the program cannot get past the SystemClock_Config() call. When stepping through the code with a debug build, inside HAL_RCC_ClockConfig() this macro triggers the ST-Link to lose connection:MODIFY_REG(RCC->CFGR, RCC_CFGR_SW, RCC_ClkInitStruct->SYSCLKSource);When running a release build, the result is as if the SystemClock_Config() caused an endless loop.Details: https://youtu.be/n0iYG4h2w8AThe clock source in the video is a 12MHz crystal but the same problem still occurs when not using it. I've never used a H7 before, maybe there's something I'm missing?

Hi All,I'm facing a strange issue on UART, I generate the code by CubeMx for UART functionality, UART is working fine but when ever i remove the TTL (Serial to USB) and keep Rx pin float, UART interrupt occurred continuously and main application stopped.I want to know why interrupt occurred on floating UART pins

Imported an example code of CAN loopback on STM32F446RE board,   Please guide me to check the signal in DSO(hantek Software), I  do not have a CAN analyzer please help me to get the signal in digital oscilloscope.

Hi,I'm trying to create my first very simple bootloader. I'm working with Grove Wio-E5 coming from Seed with STM32WLE5JC mcu available here Important note with this mcu I don't have acces to BOOT 1 and BOOT0 very good idea coming from Seed...So my idea is to create a bootloader very simple at the begining of the user flash starting at0x08000000 I have changed  in the file STM32WLE5JCIX_FLASH.ld these lines for 20KB bootloader/* Memories definition */ MEMORY { RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 64K RAM2 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x10000000, LENGTH = 32K FLASH (rx) : ORIGIN = 0x08000000, LENGTH = 20K /*256K*/ }And in my bootloader I just light ON a led plug on PA9.In STM32CubeProgrammer I didi a full erase chip but when I flash my bootloader I have nothing it's look like my stm32 doesn't boot from user flash memory.... If I try to debug with ST-LINK it's working my led is ON....So my question is, is it possible to boot from user flash memory without access to BOOT0 and BO

Hello,With CubeMX V6.8 (I did not check with latest update), there is a bug in the USART clock source selection, for chip STM32L451VETWhen selecting SYSCLK for USART2 or USART3 (did not check with UART4), in the function HAL_UART_MspInit() the clock is init with :PeriphClkInit.Usart2ClockSelection = RCC_USART1CLKSOURCE_SYSCLK;instead of PeriphClkInit.Usart2ClockSelection = RCC_USART2CLKSOURCE_SYSCLK;That results in an incorrect initialisation !I don't know if it is related to the fact that in my project USART1 is also clocked by RCC_USART1CLKSOURCE_SYSCLKAurelien

Hello, can we connect the exposed pad of the TSB582IDT to GND in the PCB layout? There is nothing mentioned in the datasheet regarding the exposed pad.

This is my complaint about the st.com website. This site is a usability nightmare. It is completely spammend with trackers and analytics, loading tons javascript from almost everywhere, it became practically unusable.e.g.: I needed almost 30 minutes to find a deep link to the current version of the CubeIDE windows installer. The CubeIDE landing page is bloated by such an extent with tracker and analytics javascript, blocking each other, if one is blocked by my brower, i was litteraly not able to click on the download button, because it vanished after logging in.Pardon my french, but this sucks completely. I understand you want to do analytics, but if the user blocks those trackers, because of trust issues, then the site should work without them.Thank you for your attention</rant>

Hello everyone,I am trying to apply the hello world example from stm32MP1 workshop. everything works fine for me. However, when I try to run the application inside stm32mp1 it shows me this message. version `GLIBC_2.34' not found.I tried to install newer version of GLIBC but without any suncess.could you please tell what to do here.

Hi When transferring a Type-v signal at 26kbps and at 53kbps, what is the frequency bandwidth/spectrum of these 2 signals? This helps me to set the bandwidth of the baseband amplifier in the reader correctly. Thank you.

Stats:STM32CubeIDEVersion: 1.13.2Build: 18220_20230914_1601 (UTC) Windows 10 Enterprise I have a project using STM32H743 and Azure RTOS, ThreadX, NetX, and FileX.In the NetX portion during initialization of the netx thread, the code performs initiation of the LAN8742 device. Here is the call stack tree in the debugger:The hard fault occurs on line 131 in the lan8742.c code which is :if(pObj->IO.WriteReg(pObj->DevAddr, LAN8742_BCR, LAN8742_BCR_SOFT_RESET) >= 0)The Status registers show:The fault is 100% repeatable. The fault appeared after adding some code to a completely unrelated sectionand the fault happens prior to any of the added code being executed. As far as I can tellThe only difference is that the added code has pushed the LAN8742.c code alittle farther down in the flash. I also noticed that some of the printf()'s for debug alsocause issues like mem faults and have to be commented out. I am not finished experimentationwith what causes the hard fault in the Lan

Our board is using STM32MP15 and doesn't use PMIC, when we try poweroff command, it seems to work but after around 30 seconds, the board reset automatically.During this time, I see power consumption just goes down a little bit.Does anyone have same issue or something like this?

I'm a big fan of STMicro and have used several of their Dev and Eval boards with no issues.A couple of weeks ago I got an email from ST about the new module. I looked at the videos and ordered one right away because I wanted to get it in time for the Webinar. The webinar was a disaster; way too much information with no time to take any notes. I figured I'd just watch it at my leisure later on but it was taken down in a couple of hours. So I started again with the Entry Mode video. The website said to download the ST BLE Sensor App which I did. The dice demo worked perfectly. At 1:10 into the video it said "Switch the box on and open the ST BLE Sensor Classic App on your phone" So I downloaded that and was able to follow the video then at 2:42 in the video it says to "Click on the Play button", I had to wait for a bit to scan for my board and then I clicked play. At 2:55 On the Overwrite board warning display I clicked OK. And then got "Error Board scanning has timed out. Exit the App a

Hello,I have a Riverdi screen with an embedded stm32H7. When I am trying to flash with the st-link the code to the screen I am getting this error.
