I am using a STM32F373 with the USB Middleware set to 'Communication Device Class (Virtual Port Com)'.Is it possible to have it 'act' as a UART or SPI type port, or do I need to hook into the USB library to TX/RX data over USB?  I currently use USART2 with a USB->SERIAL converter connected between my PC and STM32, but would like to eliminate the need to have it if I can find a way to get the built-in USB Middleware to act as a converter. I'm also looking at using a FTDI FT231XS-U IC as an on-board USB->Serial converter so only a plain USB cable is needed to connect the board.Thanks,

Hi  In the figure below, FIFO1 filter bank 7 and filter bank 10 have the same settings. If the ID list is 16bit, I think it is correct to have 4 Filter Nums. There are two filter banks 7, 4 and 5. Is this correct?

Hi All,Is there a way to reset the IDE back to factory setup? I've somehow manged to screw things up enough that it's really not workable anymore.Thanks,Richard

Hello. I just started with the B-U585I-IOT02A ("Discovery kit for IoT node with STM32U5 series") board. When I run the out-of-the-box demo, plug in the micro USB, and setup the serial port, I can see the "STM32U5 Webserver Demonstration" banner, the network scan results, and the "Please enter your wifi ssid" message, but I cannot see any text that I type into the terminal. The terminal doesn't seem to to respond to anything I type. Am I missing something here?I have tried TeraTerm and PUTTY on Windows 11.Thank you!

I have a design that uses two HRTIM outputs from an STM32G474 MCU to provide a PWM signal to two external half-bridge gate drivers to drive two DSMPS, a buck converter and an inverting buck-boost converter.  After several debugging sessions, the MCU continues to function but starts to heat for no apparent reason, exceeding 70°C and beyond, one time to destruction.   The heating continues even if I erase the MCU with the STM32CubeProgrammer.  After replacing the MCU, things are back to normal so it seems that I damaged the MCU while debugging.  I'm still in the process of developing the control for the converters and am currently operating them open loop a fixed HRTIM PWM duty cycle to generate about +3V and -3V.I've searched for, but could not find any reference to issues with debugging DSMPS.  The biggest concern is the inverting buck-boost topology because if the HRTIM output is stuck high, +24V will get shorted through the pulse transformer, the to

Hello Community,I just wanted to install CMSIS Pack 5.9 in my CubeIDE (1.12.1), but the installation is canceled due to errors in the "pack" file:ATM I am using CMSIS 5.7 Pack (Library) but for some reason the >>arm_atan2_f32<< function is missing. So the idea was to update to 5.9 (Source) and hope the function would be availiable then.Has anyone an idea how to solve this issue?Thanks and have a nice day!

Does the STM32G0 with the CMSIS libraries support floating point operations?Is the G0 recommended for floating point operation, or should I use the F1 series instead?Thank you!

Hello STM32 community!I'm relatively new to the embedded field and have been diving into communication protocols through small projects. Currently, I'm working on implementing USB CDC on an STM32F446RE, and I've been facing challenges for the past two months.I've extensively searched the internet and followed various tutorials, but unfortunately, none of them seem to work.One of the tutorial that I followed: https://controllerstech.com/usb-cdc-device-and-host-in-stm32/Regarding my hardware setup, I've cut a USB 2.0 cable, connected the power wire to 5V pin(with the jumper changed to E5V), and linked D+ and D- to their respective configured pins on the board.I am getting the code 43: unrecognized device errorI would greatly appreciate it if anyone who has successfully implemented USB CDC on STM32 Nucleo boards could share the exact steps they took.Your insights and guidance would be invaluable to me. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!

Hello,I have read AN4056 and noticed there are eeprom.h and eeprom.c project files referenced.  Where do I download these files?Thanks,

Hi, Just wondering what happened to the "My Creations" where people could post entire projects? I have a couple of projects that solve some of the problems people have had such as WiFi for the STM32H7B3I-DK, using one pulse timers, and have posted one or two projects in the past, but they have disappeared.Best regardsRob

Hi,I am using STM32F303RETb (NUCLEO-F303) to try I2C for another device. But always return HAL_ERROR into HAL_I2C_Slave_Receive(). By the way of I2C_WaitOnFlagUntilTimeout.What are the possible problems with this error?this part is setting code in the MX_I2C1_Init()./* USER CODE END I2C1_Init 1 */ hi2c1.Instance = I2C1; hi2c1.Init.Timing = 0x00901D23; hi2c1.Init.OwnAddress1 = 0x40; hi2c1.Init.AddressingMode = I2C_ADDRESSINGMODE_7BIT; hi2c1.Init.DualAddressMode = I2C_DUALADDRESS_DISABLE; hi2c1.Init.OwnAddress2 = 0; hi2c1.Init.OwnAddress2Masks = I2C_OA2_NOMASK; hi2c1.Init.GeneralCallMode = I2C_GENERALCALL_DISABLE; hi2c1.Init.NoStretchMode = I2C_NOSTRETCH_ENABLE; if (HAL_I2C_Init(&hi2c1) != HAL_OK) { Error_Handler(); }   /** Configure Analogue filterthis is main function./* USER CODE BEGIN 2 */ uint8_t commandBuffer[4] = {0}; uint8_t whoami[1] = {0x00}; HAL_StatusTypeDef s; HAL_StatusTypeDef t; /* USER CODE END 2 */   /* Infinite loop */ /* USER CODE

Dear STM Support Team,I am currently working on a project using the STM32H747I-Discovery Kit and have encountered an issue during system initialization. After integrating code from the STemWin_HelloWorld example and successfully compiling, the HAL_Init() function returns HAL_ERROR.Upon debugging, I have found that the common_system_clock variable is being set to zero when returning from the following block of code: #if defined(RCC_D1CFGR_D1CPRE) common_system_clock = HAL_RCC_GetSysClockFreq() >> ((D1CorePrescTable[(RCC->D1CFGR & RCC_D1CFGR_D1CPRE)>> RCC_D1CFGR_D1CPRE_Pos]) & 0x1FU); #else // Other conditionals or relevant code #endif HAL_RCC_GetSysClockFreq() correctly returns a value that corresponds to 64MHz, so the issue seems to arise during the prescaler application. This leads to a situation where common_system_clock becomes zero, which should not be the case.I have double-checked the clock configurations, prescaler settings, and the relevant RC

Hello Community, I am working on a use case where I have 4 remote MCUs that ideally should be synced with a host MCU. I however have no way to even install an external precision Clock source on these remote MCU's (due to various environmental & budget limitations), while I can accept a precision reference clock signal from any external device that is off-board ie of PCB via one available differential channel on my CAT6e cables. I wish to seek your insights to confirm my assumptions & clear my doubts if I can use this external Clock source to clock the HSE & replace the lower +-5% stability internal 16Mhz HSI on STM32G0B0 MCUs. Point #1: The Datasheet does NOT mention any minimum frequency for the external clock signal to HSE as input clock refernce, so in theory (for sake to my understanding) does this mean I can use a signal as low as 32Khz for driving the MCU? Or am I missing something obvious here? The Datasheet mentions no minimu frequency limit for an external clock so

Hi all, we've been developing some applications using STM32H743BG since 2020 and only now we realized that value of VECT_TAB_OFFSET has been changed according the package used in STM32Cube. So, these are the differences between different Cube versions:STM32Cube FW_H7 V1.9.0:#define VECT_TAB_OFFSET 0x00000000UL /*!< Vector Table base offset field. This value must be a multiple of 0x200. */STM32Cube FW_H7 V1.10.0:#define VECT_TAB_OFFSET 0x00000000U /*!< Vector Table base offset field. This value must be a multiple of 0x300. */STM32Cube FW_H7 V1.11.1:#define VECT_TAB_OFFSET 0x00000000U /*!< Vector Table base offset field. This value must be a multiple of 0x400. */So, my question is: what offset value should be used? Offset of 0x200, 0x300 or 0x400?Where is possible to find this information on the available documentation?Regards,Tiago F. Borth

AN5290 discusses a workaround for the "When VDD exceeds 2.5V in LDO configuration a glitch on HSE may create a hard fault on M4/M0" issue identified in the errata. In the AN5290 section titled "1.2 LDO configuration for VDD > 2.5 V"  recommends:The recommended values (see Figure 3) are:• Inductance: 1.8 ± 0.1 nH, 6 GHz ± 15% self-resonance frequency, 1000 mA ratedcurrent (for example, Murata LQG15HS1N8B02)• Resistor: 2.2 Ω, able to support 1 W for 5 ns (for example, Vishay D10/CRCW0402e3)However in Figure 3 it shows a 1.2nH inductor.Not sure if this is the correct form to identify these discrepancies, so if someone could let me know the best location for these issues that would be great.

I require assistance with the design of the battery charger schematics involving the L6924D. Referring to the documentation (https://www.st.com/resource/en/datasheet/l6924d.pdf), the pull-up resistor R3 is 1K, and the NTC tuning resistor R9 is 470 ohms. My inquiries are as follows:Should I incorporate the NTC thermistor as depicted in red on the schematics, or is R9 itself an NTC?In section 8.1 of the document regarding the selection of the appropriate NTC, at 0 degrees Celsius, is the resistance NTC||R9 equal to R3, or is R9 equal to R3? Furthermore, at 50 degrees Celsius, is R3(1K)/NTC||R9 equal to 7 or R3/R9 = 7?

I have developed a program on the NUCLEO-WB55RG which contains a STM32WB55RGV6 MCU. Sadly our small company dont have the necessary equipment for RF design so we are planning to use the STM32WB5MMG module, which contains STM32WB55VGY MCU and all the RF curcit built in. Will the same code I wrote for the nucleo work on the STM32WB5MMG module if I retarget it in the STM32CubeIde?

Dear friends, good evening.I am facing the following problem with my application using BLE with the MB1641 (STM32WB15CC):We had an app that worked with a device using another microcontroller (Nordic). We are adapting this device to an STM32 platform. This existing app reads the message received via Bluetooth. However, it reads the notification, not the full message.I developed my application based on the ST example (BLE_p2pServer). However, the notification arrives in the app with 20 bytes, and we are unable to access the full buffer (although it is sent). When we use the Nordic application used for testing (nRF Connect), we see the notification with 20 bytes, and when we click on the down arrow (read), we can access the full buffer (62 bytes). In other words, the content can be sent, but we need it to be transmitted in the notification if possible.Is there a way to change the size of the notification (let's see, the notification, not the payload itself) or is it a feature of the BLE-S

Hi, I want to use CAN interface to transfer integer data from one micro controller to another. I am using STM32F373C8 microcontrollers. Please brief me the hardware connection too, from google I understand following.uC1-------------------uC2CAN_H----------------CAN_HCAN_L------------------CAN_LGND----------------------GNDBut in our case we have , CAN_Tx and CAN_Rx pins. I have also swapped the pins for transmission. The boards are placed quite close to each other. I have implemented the ChatGPT code, but it stucks some where in receiving. I am attaching my main file here. Please guide me as soon as possible

I am working on a custom board design that uses an STM32G474RBT3 to drive the PWM signals to a buck converter and another PWM signal to an inverting buck-boost converter via the HRTIM.  If the PWM signals lock high for more than a few microseconds there will likely be damage to the board.I am using the STLINK-VSET3 to debug and program the MCU.  Most of the time I don't seem to have a problem when reprogramming the MCU to test updated firmware, but every once in a while, I hear a "click".  Most of the time after the click, all seems to be working okay but the MCU begins running at an elevated temperature (40°C to 70°C) and most of the time will eventually fail (a day or two later).Currently, I am not controlling the voltages of the power supplies; I'm just generating a fixed PWM signal open loop to verify that the converters function.  Also, I have not explored setting the PWM signals low in the event of a fault condition (i.e., core lockup, RAM parity error, execut

Hello,I have a 48V motor and would like to evaluate this design using the STEVAL-SPIN3201 which is only rated to 45V.The schematic sort of suggests that if you remove the JP2 jumper you can independently supply VM and VBUS, and VBUS can go to 60 volts due to FET's limit and VM can go to 45V.I removed this jumper and connected 48V to J2 for VBUS, and 24V to J1 for VM.Changed the FW so I don't get overvoltage error and the SPIN32F0 programmed fine. But as soon as I commanded the motor to run the board burned out, appears to have burned at the VM input of the SPIN32F0.Has anyone successfully provided separate VM and VBUS with this EVAL board?Because I am just barely over the rated voltage, and the absolute maximum rating of the SPIN32F0 is actually 48V, I doubt the board burned up because the higher voltage, I suspect the 2 supplies are fighting each other somehow and I did not make all the changes to the board I needed to.I had previously run this motor with this board at 42V fine, so I

Dear Sir or Madam,I'd like to know the part number of MEMS sensors in STmicro from the marking on the chip.How to know the marking "8209/C3H/?BW JZ" ?

Hi, Iam using a STM32G473 controller and want to do the following:I want to output an analog curve, stored in a RAM buffer.Timer6 is the timebase for transfering the the data from RAM buffer to DAC via DMA.So I selected the DAC as trigger source for the DMA: DMAMUX1_Channel0->CCR = (DMAMUX1_Channel0->CCR & ~DMAMUX_CxCR_DMAREQ_ID_Msk) | (41 << DMAMUX_CxCR_DMAREQ_ID_Pos); //Select ID 41 (DAC2_CH1) I configured the Timer (using TIM6): //Timer runs with 84 MHz --> auto reload 84 results in Update Event each 1 us (1MHz) tim.ARR = 84; tim.CR2 |= TIM_CR2_MMS_1; //The update event is selected as a trigger output configured the DAC (using DAC2, OUT1): dac.MCR = (dac.MCR & ~DAC_MCR_MODE1_Msk) | (2 << DAC_MCR_MODE1_Pos); //set channel 1 to mode 2: connected to external pin, without buffer dac.CR = (dac.CR & ~DAC_CR_TSEL1_Msk) | (7 << DAC_CR_TSEL1_Pos); //select triggersource 7 for channel 1 as trigger source (=TIM6) dac.CR |= DA

Hi, i need help with the integration between NUCLEO-L4T5ZI and X-NUCLEO-NFC08A1 board.What I tried is:Create a project using STM32CubeIDE. Choose X-CUBE-NFC in the Middleware and Software Packs and update the configuration.Enabled SPI1 Update the PIN assignment Use the automatic code generation feature to generate the codethe attachment is the .ioc file with the above settings Google Drive link I found that after the code generation didnt generate the "rfal_utils.h" file, the X-CUBE-NFC is version 3.0.0 downloaded in the STM32CubeIDE MCU Embedded Software Packages Manager. So I copy the "rfal_utils.h" file from the ST X-CUBE-NFC6 download link  After copying the "rfal_utils.h" to the project, the project can be built successfully but the demo project not running successfully on the hardware. I probed the MISO/MOSI PIN with an oscilloscope and found no signal.This is my project file -> Google Drive linkCan anyone guide me?
