Solved

Hello,I recently upgraded to CubeIde 1.6.0 but I am having many new problems when programming STM32h/43: the configurations generation is much slower and it often stops updating all needed files, which forces me to reboot (I could not find a better way).So I decided to downgrade to 1.5.1 which was stable for me, but I cannot load the .ioc files that were generated with 1.6.0. Is there a workaround?

I need USB interface STM32F373 for circuit.

Three states on a single GPIO pin with two LEDs is possible.For users who want to drive 2 LEDs with three states with one signal GPIO - please, see the details below.But I want to ask one question:On a STM32U5A5 - how does the PC13 behave? - I see "FOUR states" possible (even I can force later just to use three states).MCU was never flashed with a FW: both LEDs are on (dimmed, like getting pulses)both LEDs off: configure PC13 as input (or GPIO_DeInit() to set as analog pin)LED1 on / LED2 off: configured as output and drive lowLED1 off / LED2 on: configure as output and drive highI cannot force again to see both LEDs on.But I am sure: after I have soldered my boards, power it up the first time in order to flush the 1st time my FW - both LEDs are on (but dimmed). I assume: there is a frequency (a toggling signal). But why and which one?BTW: how to configure PC13 for RTC_OUT1? I have not found an ALT setting to do so?One GPIO pin for three statesUse a Dual-LED with two LEDs, "anti-paralle

Hello ST community,In the software STM32CubeMX there is the possibility to select different timebase sources. By default the SysTick is selected. What criteria should be considered to decide which timebase to use ? What is the advantage/disadvantage of the other timebase sources? Is there an effect on precision or on energy consumption.Are the other timebase options relevant for applications with an RTOS only? Mostly I read that in combination with a RTOS the SysTick is not used for unknown reasons.Many thanks

My STM32F745VET project was built in MX v6.3.0 and uses FreeRTOS. When SysTick is dedicated to the RTOS I get the following message when I try to build code:"When RTOS is used, it is strongly recommended to use a HAL timebase source other than the Systick. The HAL timebase source can be changed from the Pinout tab under SYS"I arbitrarily picked TIM14 for the timebase source and see it has priority 15 in MX, the same as the FreeRTOS tick ISR. The code that MX generates does set the TIM14 ISR priority to 15 in HAL_Init(), but subsequently sets it to "16" in SystemClock_Config() when it calls HAL_RCC_ClockConfig(). This 16 gets truncated to 0 and this ISR interrupts my critical sections of code.I believe this is just a bug in the code generated by MX? I manually fixed it but that solution is not optimal and it'd be better to simply not have this ISR. What risk makes MX "strongly recommend" having a separate HAL timebase?

I am using STMcube ide for developing applications with STM32WB5MM-DK. I will be trying to use the OLED display and gyroscope of the discovery board. I couldn't find suitable tutorial or documents for accessing. Is there any documents available for the same

In STM32L432KC(arm cortex-m4+FPU) there are two ram memory blocks. Following is a snippet from the linker script I use._e_ram2_stack = ORIGIN(RAM2) + LENGTH(RAM2); _e_ram_stack = ORIGIN(RAM ) + LENGTH(RAM ); ... RAM (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x20000000, LENGTH = 64K RAM2 (xrw) : ORIGIN = 0x10000000, LENGTH = 16KI can set main stack pointer(MSP) to use `_e_ram_stack` or `_e_ram2_stack` without problem. However when I try to set thread mode to use process stack pointer(PSP) I start to get `INVPC` hard fault on SysTick interrupt return `pop {r7, pc}` instruction.If I subtract 112 from `_e_ram_stack` or `_e_ram2_stack`, only then I can start using PSP without problem. Something is preventing the use of end of memory address as top of the stack for PSP, but I couldn't find anything related to that in ARMv7-m architecture manual.Following is the only change I did in the project code of STM32CubeIDE. Main program is just a dummy while(1) loop and only SysTick interrupt is enabled.Reset_Handler: ldr s

Hey,I use stm32h745, I want to use FDCAN1 communication with both cores.What is the effect of the decision on which core to perform initializer in the CubeMX?

Hi, got a problem opening the .ioc.It shows me this error.

Hello,I purchased several of the SMT818 chips and was testing its watchdog timer capabilities for my TI MCU. I started with an input pulse that the MCU sent every 500 ms from a 3.3V GPIO pin into the WDI input. Looking at both this input pulse and the NRST output, I observed that the NRST output stayed high but when I removed this input pulse, the NRST output still remained high and did not attempt to reset like it should have, shown below: (blue signal is the NRST signal and yellow is the WDI signal)I then lowered the input pulse to 31.25 ns which is the fastest my MCU can trigger. This is where the behavior got strange. Instead of remaining high when the WDI signal triggered, the NRST signal started periodically going low for roughly 200ms shown below. When I removed the 31.25ns WDI input, the NRST signal stopped triggering and remained high.As a watchdog timer is supposed to reset a device that could be deadlocked, the behavior described above is clearly the opposite of what we need

I need to measure the time it takes for a component to reach a certain voltage, read out with the ADC. So far I have been measuring in microseconds but it turned out that that is not precise enough.I found the following code to measure time on Stackoverflow and it works well, but I only superficially understand it and I can't really modify it.// setup__HAL_RCC_TIM2_CLK_ENABLE();TIM2->PSC = HAL_RCC_GetPCLK1Freq()/1000000 - 1;TIM2->CR1 = TIM_CR1_CEN;// read time in microsecondstime_start = TIM2->CNT;Can someone explain to me how it works and if I can modify it to measure nanoseconds? There might a super obvious way to do it but, again, I don't understand the code (This is what I get for copying code from the internet I guess)Is there maybe a better solution than this? Some additional info:I don't need the measurement to be super accurate, whatever the chip itself can provide is probably enough for my needs.I've set up the ADC in continuous conversion mode and DMA circular w

Can TOF sensors such as VL53L1X and VL53L5CX be cleaned with alcohol and/or cleaning wipes or be submerged in cleaning alcohol?

Hello all,In both files sfu_kms.h and sfu_interface_crypto_scheme.h there is a header guard called SFU_KMS_H.sfu_kms.h:sfu_interface_crypto_scheme.h:Is that a bug or intentional decision?

Dear Community,I've got STM32H730 with ext Flash on OCTOSPI2 and ext RAM (s70kl1283) on OCTOSPI1.I call  SCB_EnableICache(); and  SCB_EnableDCache(); early in main, then I configure the MPU.I've got no problems executing code from ext Flash/OCTOSPI2 when MPU is configured as follows:MPU_InitStruct.Enable = MPU_REGION_ENABLE;MPU_InitStruct.BaseAddress = OCTOSPI2_BASE;MPU_InitStruct.Size = MPU_REGION_SIZE_16MB;MPU_InitStruct.AccessPermission = MPU_REGION_FULL_ACCESS;MPU_InitStruct.IsBufferable = MPU_ACCESS_BUFFERABLE;MPU_InitStruct.IsCacheable = MPU_ACCESS_CACHEABLE;MPU_InitStruct.IsShareable = MPU_ACCESS_SHAREABLE;MPU_InitStruct.Number = MPU_REGION_NUMBER4;MPU_InitStruct.TypeExtField = MPU_TEX_LEVEL0;MPU_InitStruct.SubRegionDisable = 0x00;MPU_InitStruct.DisableExec = MPU_INSTRUCTION_ACCESS_ENABLE;HAL_MPU_ConfigRegion(&MPU_InitStruct);It has a big, measurable impact on the execution speed compared to non-cached OCTOSPI2 MPU configuration.I can also execute code from ext RAM

Hi, i come across a H7 code that use HAL_StatusTypeDef , could anyone kindly advise what does the HAL_StatusTypeDef do, whats HAL_OK means? what does ret != HAL_OK mean? and what does return HAL_OK means?HAL_StatusTypeDef spi_write(reg, *pData){  HAL_StatusTypeDef ret;  uint8_t sendData[2] = {reg, *pData};   HAL_GPIO_WritePin(...SPI1_CS_Pin, 0);  // CS pull low  ret = HAL_SPI_Transmit(&hspi1, sendData, 2, 20);  if  (ret != HAL_OK)  {              HAL_GPIO_WritePin(.., SPI1_CS_Pin, 1);  // CS pull high              return ret;  }

Hi all,   I have a problem which is bugging me as I can't figure out what im doing wrong. I am trying to read from ADC_IN4 but are reading wrong values. I should be reading apprx. 30000 ADC value but i am reading apprx. 7800. I think that this indicates that i am not reading from the right channel because there is a LM20 temperature sensor connected to PC3 which is ADC_IN4 on stm32L475x and the value does not change if i apply heat or cold. I want the TIM4_TRGO event to trigger ADC conversions with 16x oversampling, and at sequence end, trigger EOS interrupt where i read the ADC data. Later on i want to connect it to DMA. I have never really worked with update events on stm32 so I think I am maybe doing something wrong setting up the update events, maybe im mixing up interrupts and events, or the ADC channel configuration is wrong. I really hope someone can help me. Thanks. #include "stm32l475xx.h" #include "variables.h" volatile uint32_t count = 0; volatile uint32_t result = 0;

Hello,I keep getting an NMI fault when I attempt to read a variable with gdb (either with a mouseover on a variable in STM32CubeIDE or the print [var] command in gdb). I'm not seeing anything useful when I view the microprocessor registers after the fault.I'm using the stm32g474 hal library along with a linker, startup file, and interrupt _it files that are normally generated by default with the STM32CubeMX software for a G474 nucleo board. However, I'm using cmake 2.47.6 and the arm gcc/g++ toolchain 11.2-2022.02 for the build process.Thank you

Hy,I am new by using nucleo board. I am evaluating the bootloader which runs fine for y first tests and I try to enlarge configuration capabilities. To focus on this goal I am looking for the registers map available with STM32L0 series.In the reference Manuel are documented each peripherals with their registers through offset address, but not the reference address for each kind of peripheral. A description of those addresses will be welcome.Butterfly-fr

Hi community, I´m new to NFC and looking for a st25dvxxkc BSP driver for my custom board.I see in the product MKBOXPRO the st25dv04kc is also used, what confuses me is two similiar folders for st25dv exist under the folder: Drivers/BSP/Components/, and they also have the similar contents:can someone explain me why? is it necessary to copy these two folders oder only one is enough?

Hi Team,I have enabled the flux weakening for the Motor. But as per my understanding, flux weakening helps us to run the motor beyond the rated RPM. But in my case, I am not able to see that difference.Could you please help me understand how it works or have I missed some of the steps while configuring the project?

hello community,I´m using PB10/PB11 as I2C1 and PB6/PB7 as I2C2.I2C1 works correctly.But I2C2 not, after reset on PB6 and PB7 I just get some messy signals as below, It seems the I2C2 is not initialized with succcess.Actually the both I2C are initialized in the same way:Here is the pin definition for both I2C//sensor1#define BSP_I2C                                   I2C1#define BSP_I2C_CLK_ENABLE()                      LL_APB1_EnableClock(LL_APB1_PERIPH_I2C1)#define BSP_I2C_CLK_DISABLE()                     LL_APB1_DisableClock(LL_APB1_PERIPH_I2C1)#define BSP_I2C_DATA_PIN                          LL_GPIO_PIN_10#define BSP_I2C_DATA_GPIO_PORT                    GPIOB#define BSP_I2C_DATA_G

Hi!I am looking into the possibility on using LPTIM1 to trigger a DMA transfer with no CPU interrupt. This timer is chosen because it can be clocked directly by the HSE clock input. In the datasheet of STM32H7B3 (DS13139 - Rev 8) table 4, it states that LPTIM1 cannot be used for DMA request generation. In table 103 in the reference manual (RM0455 Rev 11) lptim1_out is listed as as a resource. Does this mean that it is not possible to use an output from LPTIM1 directly as an DMA request generator, but it is possible when using the DMA mux?Any clarification would be appreciated!
