The cubemx example for ADC scan of internal channels for 743-eval shows the converted values being multiplied by 4.  So is it really 16 bit or 14?  I have verified the necessity of multiplying by 4 to get correct readings for VBat.

Hi guysI'm pretty new to the ST world. Just got my hands on an STWINKT1B, hoping to dive into its ultrasonic sound detection features. I spent today tinkering with it, trying to wrap my head around how it all works. So, I've got STM32CubeProgrammer installed to load up new firmware onto it. When I connect it to my computer with the ST-LINK dongle and power it up via USB, everything's fine. But here's the problem: I can't seem to program it using just the USB itself. Every time I try, I get hit with a "No DFU Detected" message. And to make matters worse, when I plug it in via USB, my Windows 11 doesn't even recognize it as a new device, though the ST-LINK dongle gets recognized.I really need USB streaming functionality, but I'm stumped on how to fix this. Any ideas would be a lifesaver. Thanks a bunch!Amir

Currently running into an issue with a custom PCB with a STM32H750 MCU on it. We use an SWD connection to connect to the debugging port. When I go to fully erase the external memory, I receive an error message that is "Error: Mass erase operation failed. Please verify flash protection". If I try and program the device using my binary file, it says the core is locked up. The other 9 boards program fine. Is this a hardware issue more than likely or am I missing something?

Hi, can anyone please confirm,, I'm going to buy 8.8 inch LVDS display with 1280*480 resolution., so, for this display size and resolution is stm32H7 or f7 is more sufficient to handle and also can this used without memory constraints with GUI for user interface (plz, say anything like touch gfx or embedded wizard which can be used easily with which hardware MCU).. please suggest can MCU either dual core h745,,or which one more comfortable for making UI software without writing lot from scratch..Waiting for detailed reply from st-electronics,, as this the starting point for end product prototypeI Can see design file(phil's lab youtube- custom hw flight controller board by h7), so, can it be import and modify accordingly for display port and few uarts is good idea and easy way to use starting point of the hardware for my display??

Dear all.I've implemented a M3 and M4 program ( drive a iLi display and 485 port) now I'm porting it to the H5 (H562RGTX).One of the latest issue I'm facing is the jump from bootloader to application. In M3/M4 i used only LL, and the jump has no problem, simply work.On H5 I must use HAL because of the flash (I must read&write: HAL is a must). But if the application use the HAL it crash (somewere). If I use LowLevel it work.  (example with a simple led blinking).Bootloader use HAL too, and I call HAL_DeInit() before jump (and disable all interrutp, device etc). Why HAL don't work in application? Thanks.

Hello,I have a custom board based on STM32767ZIT6 and it has the three CAN peripherals and the USB designed. The goal is to translate the CAN message to USB directly without the need for a bridge but I am facing issues activating the USB and the three CAN peripherals in the software. I am using basic CDC and when I connect the CAN port to a CAN network using the CANDoISO device, the USB disappear from the device manager and the GUI application. Is it possible to use all three CAN peripherals with USB enabled or  have I messed up the configurations such as interrupt priorities and timing or will an RTOS help here?

From an ST newsletter I understood that ST is promoting new FERD diodes as "rectifiers for switching power supply". I could use these new diodes in a new flyback design so I downloaded a couple of datasheets and searched for Reverse Recovery Time Trr and Reverse Recovery Charge Qrr parameters but was not able to find them. Did you forget to list them or did I miss something?     NOTE: This question and answer originated from a customer support case which was handled by us. Can anyone please direct me to documentation on how to interface to Bluetooth functionality on the STM32WB1MM module (or B-WB1M-WPAN1)? My understanding is that I should be able to use the Bluetooth capability from either the on-board STM32WB15 of from an external MPU via TTL UART or SPI. The question is how? I have found and read all manner of documentation about the STM32WB1MM and B-WB1M-WPAN1 devices but cannot find anything pertaining to Bluetooth. I have also looked through the example projects on GITHub but struggle to navigate the bewildering number of projects having rather cryptic names. https://github.com/STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeWB/tree/master/Projects/B-WB1M-WPAN1/Applications/BLE/BLE_HR_p2p_Sensor Is it just a question of connecting and using AT commands? Thank you.

Hello,I am using a STM32H747i-DISCO kit and have set up a project based on the TouchGFX Designer demo applications, which works based on a single framebuffer. If I go into the CubeMX settings and set the framebuffer strategy to "Double Buffer" and the buffer location to "By Allocation", I can see my screen after flashing, but it is frozen. According to TouchGFXGeneratedHAL.cpp the video RGB buffer (1,152 Mbyte for 800 x 480 x 3 bytes) is located at 0xd0000000 in SDRAM and the framebuffer is placed at 0xd0119400 right after the video buffer. The pointers are set accordingly in the TouchGFXGeneratedHAL::initialise() by calling setFrameBufferStartAddresses((void*)frameBuf, (void*)(frameBuf + sizeof(frameBuf) / (sizeof(uint32_t) * 2)), (void*)0);.What causes my display to freeze when I change to double framebuffer?

I have STM32F4 DISC board and I worked with it several weeks. It was working correctly but today when I was set a SPI connection with other stm32f030 mcu, I plug-in and plug-out usb cable and I got "USB device not recognized" error message.I didn't change anything. When I was plug-in, power led on board lighting dimly. Is this a sign for corruption of card??stm32cude ide can not detect stm32 disc board. Thanks for any help

I would like read the gpio lines at fastest speed. As example it is possible to read first 4 ports by reading:uint16_t ports0123=GPIOC->IDR&0x000F; (it is very fast, takes 28 tics)It is possible to read ports GPIO_PIN_0-15 by connecting GPIOC->IDR to a DMA?and a fast DMA?

From AN5185 I understand that up to 100 keys can be send to FUS for storage, but any index will only be written once. So once I have reached 100 writes, e.g. because I have constant pairing keys between devices but I allow to disengage and reengage such pairings, I can no longer save any keys in FUS and would have to rely on handling by CPU1. Is this correct?

Hi everybody, Actually I start a new project with a ST7567 driver for LCD 128x64. I have create my project with CubeIDE . CubeIDE generate my code in the main.c  like this :    /* Private variables ---------------------------------------------------------*/ RTC_HandleTypeDef hrtc; SPI_HandleTypeDef hspi1; /* USER CODE BEGIN PV */ /* USER CODE END PV */ /* Private function prototypes -----------------------------------------------*/ void SystemClock_Config(void); static void MX_GPIO_Init(void); static void MX_RTC_Init(void); static void MX_SPI1_Init(void); /* USER CODE BEGIN PFP */ /* USER CODE END PFP */     It's ok . Now to drive my screen I would like to create files like st7567_driver.h and a st7567_driver.c file. This way I could create my functions relating to the driver in these files. Functions such as "draw pixel", "send command", "send data", etc....But to communicate with the driver I have to use SPI1 create

I've found a bug in the analog clock widget. It works perfectly, except when passing midnight, then the arms go all over the place. I think they go in the wrong direction first and then bounce a few times. I've attached a video and an example project. Glitch occurs in simulator and on board.

Updated CubeMx to latest version (of today) April 12th 2024Can't enable I2C'sAvailable only if Flash IP is activatedHow to enable (flash IP) ?

Hi there,I want to try touchGFX on my homemade board with the STM32F429BIT6 and a band flash chip H27U1G8F2B.After config by cubeMx and TouchGFX designer, my demo can work as well. However, I checked the map file and found the image is still stored in the internal flash.Need I change the "config.hpp" file to complete this function? How can I restore the data to external NAND flash?Could this step be done automatically, or need some tools to finish it?If possible, please give me some documents about it.Thanks for your help!

Hi,I'm trying to create my custom UART firmware on STM32F3DISCOVERY board. Since I wrote the Transmit part of the driver and I verified that it continuously writes words to the USART_TDR register, I was going to check whether the UART messages are actually outputted from the MCU pins.So far the plan is just to continuously spam some messages via PC4 pin to the on-board ST-link debugger. Since I know that I have a PCB version C, the on-board debugger should be of version ST-LINK/V2-B, meaning that it has virtual COM port interface on USB.My main question is, do I understand it correctly, that just by sending  some UART messages from the MCU pin PC4 to debugger, the virtual COM port of the debugger shall automatically re-send these messages to a PC, where I should be able to read them with some UART compatible terminal (e.g. PuTTy, Serial Debug Assistant, etc.)?Or am I missing some more steps? Like, are there some other steps involved to make the on-board debugger to re-send UART me

We are using the STM32H745I_DISCO and a custom daughterboard.  We use the Arduino Connectors to interface to our daughterboard.  One of the signals on CN7 pin 6 is default jumpered to PC3_C on the processor.  We cannot get it to work at a digital push-pull GPIO.  All of the other GPIOs work as we expected. We have checked our code against another similar case and it appears to be the same.  We are wondering if this might be because PC3_C cannot be used as a GPIO and is only analog or the following alternate functions listed in the STM32H745xI/G datasheet.C1SLEEP, DFSDM1_DATIN1, SPI2_MOSI/I2S2_SDO, OTG_HS_ULPI_NXT, ETH_MII_TX_CLK, FMC_SDCKE0, EVENTOUT Can someone confirm if the PC3_C can be used as a GPIO or not, and if it can, anything we might be missing to get it to work.  Also, what is the "_C" meant to differentiate (from say the other PC3 function). Thanks

Hi,I started working on STM32C011J4.Systick, PWM, ADC, GPIO works just fine. Set pin4 to NRST_MODE 2 via STM32CubeProgrammer (v2.15.0) as GPIO. MCU gets stuck at reset if pin4 is low at power on reset. After applying 1.4V or higher to it momentarily (even leaving it floating), MCU starts running and pin4 acts as GPIO, no reset functionality until next power cycle.Any thoughts? Thanks,Tim

Hi supporter,I'm developing STM32H573I-DK and trying HAL_ETH_ReadPHYRegister to check link status. But this API seems be changed.Previous prototype is:HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_ETH_ReadPHYRegister(ETH_HandleTypeDef *heth, uint16_t PHYReg, uint32_t *RegValue)But now is:HAL_StatusTypeDef HAL_ETH_ReadPHYRegister(ETH_HandleTypeDef *heth, uint32_t PHYAddr, uint32_t PHYReg,uint32_t *pRegValue)I have no idea what PHYAddr is. And PHY_BSR is also not defined in STM32H5. So, I don't know how to fill PHYReg. Is there any example? I've referenced to GitHub - STMicroelectronics/STM32CubeH5.But there are no examples about this API. Thanks for your help.

I want to output a static DC value from an STM32G473 DAC, but I’m seeing the output value has a noise tone on it that changes amplitude and frequency depending on various other settings. The behavior reproduces with all other peripherals disabled.  Here are observations and questions: I’m using VREFBUF in internal reference mode. Setting the DAC (1CH2,2CH1,2CH2) output to max makes the waveform bottom sit just below the VREFBUF value, and the peak waveform output goes above the VREFBUF value. This should not be possible, but its what I’m measuring. What could I check on to figure this out? With the output buffer enabled, the noise amplitude is a bit less than 1v peak to peak. If I remove the output buffer, it drops to less than 0.1v. The DAC outputs directly to a scope probe, so I don’t understand why it would behave this way. Of the three internal VREFBUF settings, the lowest one produces the highest amplitude noise tone and the lowest frequency, the high setting p

We have a design based on the STM32G0B1CET6 MCU.Recently we noticed some failing parts after power on/off testing. Symptoms: software is no longer running and the SWD port is not responding. We sent the broken parts to ST for analysis. The report (C241043257) showed that the FLASH status register has bit 15 (OPTVERR) set. This indicates a mismatch on option byte loading, which can be caused by a reset or glitch during the option byte programming phase. After analyzing our code, we found that at each startup the firmware writes 0xBB to the RDP option byte.We are quite sure this caused the issue, but what we would like to have confirmed is:If 0xBB is written to the RDP option byte, while is already set to 0xBB – will that still make the chip vulnerable to a reset or instable power supply? A related question:At the end of a firmware update, we do a bank swap, which requires writing to an option byte. That will also introduce a brief moment where the chip can be bricked if power supply

Has multiple failures to download HAL package of about 100 MB to 500 MBfrom ST web.  Firefox said failed, at about 20% progress bar.  Saw same on multiple different packages.  Seem it timeout on a non-fast internet. Some package can choose to download from ST or Github (that work fine).  However, a lot of package do not have choice of Github.TIA

Hi,I'm using CubeMX 6.11.0 (STM32L4 package version 1.18.0) to generate code for the STM32L412 with LL drivers. My configuration enables the VREFINT and TEMP channels for ADC1.The generated function MX_ADC1_Init() contains the line  LL_ADC_SetCommonPathInternalCh(__LL_ADC_COMMON_INSTANCE(ADC1), LL_ADC_CHANNEL_VREFINT|LL_ADC_CHANNEL_TEMPSENSOR);  which should actually be  LL_ADC_SetCommonPathInternalCh(__LL_ADC_COMMON_INSTANCE(ADC1), LL_ADC_PATH_INTERNAL_VREFINT | LL_ADC_PATH_INTERNAL_TEMPSENSOR);  This prevents correct temperature channel measurements.
