I have configured the timer clock to 170MHz. According to the datasheet, the maximum fENC value is 42.5MHz when the timer clock is 170MHz, and the tW is specified as 2~3Tck.I am using a quadrature encoder with two channels that provides 1024 pulses per revolution.I have set TIM4 to encoder mode, as shown in the attached image, and I am monitoring the htim4->Instance->CNT value using the debugger. The issue is that when I turn the motor slowly by hand, the counter works correctly, counting from 0 to 4095 as expected. However, when I start rotating it faster, the counter starts missing counts, and at higher speeds, the counter doesn't increase at all.I'm not sure what the issue could be. Where should I start looking to troubleshoot this problem?

(Updated: I just noticed I initially wrote LVDS instead of DSI - corrected now)Hi,first time working with animated graphics and video on STM32, what is the best way to select a micro family for graphic application? I could not find a selector tool that would give me some guidelines of peripherals such as graphic accelerators (if needed) or other ones so to make an informed choice. Essentially at the moment the requirements are:- DSI interface with a resolution of 1024 x 768 (preferably 1280 x 800)- Transparency support (not sure if this requires special hardware or if there are ways around it so it is not required)- support for external fast memory (QSPI perhaps?) that transfers directly to the display (if such thing exists) because the application can potentially have a very large number of images- Animation support either GIF or APNG (Animated PGN) or fast images switching. Not sure if special hardware (hardware acceleration perhaps) is required to make it a smooth experience wi

Hi STM32 guys/gals,The gray/white signal is for reference only, and that's the signal I'd like the generated yellow signal to achieve when starts and stops. I'm using DMA in circular mode to generate the yellow signal. However, I'm struggling to command the signal to start and stop exactly in the middle, between peak to peak. Forcing either the timer interrupt to stop or disable the DMA will make it stop anywhere between peak-to-peak but not exactly in the middle all the time. Should DMA in normal mode better for this application?  Stopped/started at bottom:  Stopped/started slightly above bottom: Thanks,

Hello, Am building a code on the NUCLEO-L4R5ZI-P to control motors on a robot. I want to include button presses to activate different modes (speeds, directions, etc). Setting ports as GPIO_Inputs and connecting and pressing the buttons is not working for me. The code works properly without the "if(button pressed)" logic which does not give me any control. To debug, I tried to set a simple button press code to control one onboard LED by getting the 5V or 3.3V from the same board and feeding it through a switch to the input port. Pressing the button still does not work but the LED blinks without the if logic. I may be missing something silly, but I can't seem to find it. Help will be greatly appreciated. Below is the blink code. /* USER CODE BEGIN Header */ /** ****************************************************************************** * @file : main.c * @brief : Main program body ****************************************************************************** * @attentio

I use ThreadX (in addition to other X series middlewares) on nearly all of my projects. I have been in the habit of adding calls to _tx_thread_context_save/restore in all interrupt handlers inside stm32<xx>xx_it.c, per the guidance in ThreadX documentation.Today I was reworking an old project and pulled up the assembly for _tx_thread_context_save to see a note that states:/* DESCRIPTION *//* *//* This function is not needed for Cortex-M. */Referencing https://community.st.com/t5/stm32-mcus/part-1-how-to-create-a-threadx-low-power-project-from-scratch/ta-p/571446, I see no step outlined to add the calls for context save/restore. I've read various Issues on the official ThreadX github account and the old Microsoft Azure ThreadX Q&A board that go back and forth on whether these calls are necessary or recommended (https://github.com/eclipse-threadx/threadx/issues/381 , https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/994826/azure-rtos-execution-profile-kit-with-

HiI'm struggling with a TFT Display and a Nucleo U575 board. The Display is a 320x240px Display that I want to control with a 16 bit FMC interface. As the Display doesn't show anything, I connected my Logic analyzer to the Nucleo's FMC Pins.Result: It seems, that the commands (8-bit) are sent correctly to the TFTs D0:D7 pins. However when I try to send data (e.g. a 16 bit color) to the display it's also just D0:D7 that turn high/low. D8:D15 are always low when data is sent and are always high wen nothing is sent.I followed this guide by NickNagy on github. He's using a 8-bit interface. However I changed to the 16-bit command for sending data and I can't find the mistake I obviously made. Can someone help me please? I uploaded the code to my githubThanks a lot in advance!

Dear STM comunity, i am currently trying migrate my solution from the kirkstone to  mickledore because it offers more software functions that i need and cant properly use on the kirkstone, i have spent alot of time trying to port the configurations from OSD32MP1F to mickledore via cube mx, here are the device tree, there are alot of differences between versions but overall nothing too diffrent, i managed to compile the image and started flashing , however i don't know what are the issues but i am not able to flash the image due to a panic error leading to flashing halt as shown in the LOG 1 and LOG2  USB speed : High Speed (480MBit/s) Manuf. Hi,I have decided to use the STM32H573xx microcontroller. According to the datasheet, there are two versions: one with SMPS and one with LDO. My requirements specify not to use the SMPS, so I chose the STM32H573ZIT3, which does not have the 'Q' suffix indicating the SMPS feature. However, I am unable to find the LDO version available for sale on any websites, and it is not listed on Silicon Expert. Could you please advise why the LDO version is not being sold and suggest a solution for obtaining it for my project? Thank you!

Hi,I'm working with the NUCLEO-NFC07A1 (that mounts ST25DV64KC chip), and I'm trying to read the dynamic registers via the I2C interface. However i've some problems reading the IT_STS_Dyn register at 0x2005 addr. This register should indicates which event triggered the GPO interrupt.I've configured the GPO1 register to trigger interrupt for various source. When an event occurs and GPO1 interrupt is activated, I expect to see some bits in the IT_STS_Dyn register set to 1, indicating the source of the interrupt. However, when I read the IT_STS_Dyn register via I2C, I always get a value of 0x00. In addition, I've noticed that I encounter the same problem (getting a value of 0x00) when reading all the dynamic RO registers. In contrast, the other dynamic registers that are not RO don't exhibit this behavior and return expected values.I'm wondering if there are any additional configuration steps required, or if I'm making an error in the reading sequence. Has anyone experienced similar i

Hi, can oneone help me to proof if the following MCU ist an original?1)The print is easier to wipe off.2)The revision number is missing or is not in the place described in the datasheet.

Hello,I have a new STEVAL-IDP004V2, and I recently downloaded both the ST-LINK Utility and the STM32CubeProgrammer.  I'm going through AN5041 Rev 5, page 22 steps which mention the board is to be programmed with the ST-LINK Utility. I started trying STM32CubeProgrammer as ST-LINK Utility is not recommended for new designs, but I kept getting read errors after the system was trying to program option bytes: "Error: Data read failed".  The option bytes were set correctly, to AA=level 0.I decided to try the ST-LINK Utility, set the option bytes to level 0, and no problem, no programming errors.I then try to program with STM32CubeProgrammer, and after using ST-LINK, no problem, no programming errors. What's the difference?  Does STM32CubeProgrammer have a bug?  Is it unable to set the option bytes? My versions are:STM32CubeProgrammer Win64 v2.17.0STM32 ST-Link Utility v4.6.0O/S: Windows 10 ProProgrammer: ST-LINK/V2Board: STEVAL-IDP004V2A,  Trace code: XD109912, B

I am using nucleo-144, H743ZI2 board. while i am uploading code in the stm32cubeide i am getting error as "target not found". i have searched in the community and then tried connect the boot0 to high, and power the board, connect to cube programmer and erase full chip flash memory. while i do that i am not able to connect board. i am getting an error as: no stm32 target found. i have tried to connect boot 0 to vcc and power it. In the cube programmer i am unable to get the connect. and i have gone through the user manual of the board h743zi2 board, but there also i received the same answer. when i connect or power the board, we get the firmware right, i am getting mbed, details and failed document also. In the fail text document i have "The interface firmware FAILED to reset/halt the target MCU". what should i do? I want to upload the new code and will it be possible to erase the old code. I have checked the vdd(JP4). i got around 2.5 volts which might be near to 3.3volts and while upl

Hello,I'm playing with a nucleo-F446 + IHM16M1.The MC workbench is able to generate code. I am able to compile and program it using cube IDE. Running the default Gimbal motor with the standard parameters is still painfull. I'm trying to get a better motor profile with the profiler tool.Using MC workbench 6.1.0, the motor profiler tool can't be run :- Discover board returns "This MCU is not supported"- Manually selecting the board show an empty screen (no board listed)After an update to v6.1.2, things are better but still not working:- Discover board returns "failed to discover board"- Manually selecting the board show the complete list. After selecting my HW config, I have a pop-op requesting a FW update. This update don't works, the software returns back to the board list screen without showing any error. In the terminal, many errors are shown (ERROR:ASPEP BEACON TIMEOUT 500ms).Any ideas will helpThanks

Hi, i design a SPMS with VIPER013HS and in the design schematic, i dont know the purpose of the capacitor in attached picture. Also in design, there is no capacitor value mentioned for this capacitor.

I would like to transmit data via USART and read the data sent to computer via a terminal(I have tried Putty and Real Term so far). To that end, I activate My USART configuration is seen as above. I also wrote the code below:uint8_t myTxData[13] = "Hello World\r\n"; while (1) { /* USER CODE END WHILE */   /* USER CODE BEGIN 3 */ HAL_StatusTypeDef res = HAL_UART_Transmit(&huart1, myTxData, 13, 10); if(!res) { HAL_GPIO_TogglePin(GPIOI, GPIO_PIN_1); HAL_Delay(1000); } }Note that I only put here inside the while loop. The other statements were generated by CubeMX.Normally my code sends data to my pc if res is true, in other words, if it is HAL_OK, and also toggles the LED. Since it couldn't see the data in the terminal, I changed the condition in if statement, and saw that the led is toggled in each second. Therefore, I concluded that my USART channel does not work. What's the issue?Thx for your help in advance.

Hi,After I program an STM32G030F6P6 I can't connect again with the STMCubeProgrammer. I have checked that my boot pin is in the correct position but still I keep on getting the error:I have used a simple program that got generated by STM32CubeIde to download to the microcontroller. Is there a setting that sets the chip protected orso when programming the microcontroller?Kind regards edit: the simple program sets PA2 to USART_TX and PA3 to USART_RX, don't know it this could give an issue.

Hi,I am looking for monochorme display which can be interfaced with STM32 Nucleo-144 board. I looked into TouchGFX but it supports colored display board with this STM32 Nucleo-144 board. Can you suggest any monochomre display based board here?https://www.st.com/en/evaluation-tools/nucleo-u575zi-q.htmlAlso, whether TouchGFX provides any readymade example for the STM32 Nucleo-144 board with a monochorme display?

I am trying to design my own board using the STM32H723ZGT and using the nucleo schematic as a guide. I believed 100nf was typical for the VDD pin bypass capacitors however there is one pin(pin 62) with a 4.7uf capacitor instead. I understand the VBAT and VDDA pins having a different values but why is the C60 bypass capacitor this much bigger bigger? thankyou

I have tested a TouchGFX-created project that should tie in a USB-Stick connected to the board and create a csv file, then write to it. After writing the necessary code and debugging this project in STM32CubeIDE, the board was stuck with a white screen, and further debugging was not possible anymore. Fortunately, I was able to connect to the board from STM32CubeProgrammer and I did a full chip erase. Now I am able to program again from STM32CubeIDE, but the code is not executed when debugging. The same project works with another STM32H745I-Disco board. In the programmer, the fault analyzer says the CPU is either halted or in lockup...Is there a way to save this one board, or is the debugger working but the main chip toast? Thanks!

Hello,    I am working on a custom board based on STM32F407 CPU with the LSM6DSV16XTR accelerometer+gyroscope and LIS2MDLTR magnetometer. The aim is to get board inclination and compass information with the maximum accuracy. The MotionFX library seems to work fine but the data from magnetometer are not correct since it requires calibration. On CubeMX even if I select the MotionMC software package, the MotionMC library is not added to the output.  I supposed this happen because the Magnetometer calibration functions are already available on the MotionFX library. The MX_MEMS_Process() is called from a FreeRTOS task, SensorReadRequest is set to 1 from a timer as done in the application demo. The problem is that MotionFX_MagCal_getParams(&mag_cal_data_out);does not update the mag_cal_data_out variable. All the hi_bias output values are 0, cal_quality always 0. During calibration I move the board with the typical "8" pattern but nothing happen.
