Hi,I'm encountering an issue with my STM32H750 MCU. I download my program to the flash via the UART interface using STM32CubeProgrammer. The MCU can work well for a few days, but suddenly crashed. This problem occurred randomly on 2 out of 15 boards with the same hardware and software design. Here are diagnostic steps taken:(1)Connecting via the SWD interface using J-link and found option bytes(0x52002000) is able to read, but flash bank 1(0x08000000)is unable to read Checked the read protection was set to level 0. Hi there,I have an ST-Link V2 which i want to use for programming a .bin file to an stm32G0 MCU. Afterwards i want to set the RTC register to the time beeing. It already works "manually" but i wanted to write a script to automate the process.I already managed to script an automated RTC register setup, but the script needs the ST-Link to run with the libusb driver. Now i wanted to automate the .bin file programming with the CubeProgrammer CLI, but i can't connect to the St-link when using the libusb driver. To make things more confusing, i can still connect with the CubeProgrammer GUI when setting the option shared to enabled. After some reading of the docs i also managed to get the probe listed on the CLI when using   -l stlink-shared  It gives the following output:   ------------------------------------------------------------------- STM32CubeProgrammer v2.18.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------- ===== STLi

I've been using for a bit a SPC58 eval-board and i was wondering how to share global variables between the two cores. I searched around on the internet finding nothing useful. Is "volatile int" enough even for a rough and dirty data sharing or should I use something like SRAM and its shared memory location?

Hello,I've designed my own PCB using the STM32H533CET6 microcontroller. However, when I try to connect to it using an ST-Link V2 via SWD, STM32Cube Programmer gives me the error: "Cannot identify the device".I've already tried connecting under reset and adjusting the connection settings, but nothing seems to work. Additionally, on another PCB that was previously working well, I replaced the STM32F303 with the STM32H533, and the same issue occurred.Could you please help me with this? I'm completely at a loss as to what might be causing the error.Thank you!

I cannot get scrollWheelUpdateItem callback to fire when the scrollWheel is moved. void Button1MenuView::scrollWheelUpdateItem(MenuElement& item, int16_t itemIndex) { // Override and implement this function in Button1Menu item.setNumber(itemIndex); } scrollWheelUpdateItem only gets called once in Button1MenuView.cpp prior to setupScreen:  void Button1MenuView::setupScreen() { Button1MenuViewBase::setupScreen(); for (int i = 0; i < scrollWheelListItems.getNumberOfDrawables(); i++) { scrollWheel.itemChanged(i); scrollWheelListItems[i].updateText(i); } } I assume it should get called whenever the scroll wheel is touched? Or do I need to set up a different callback? My Container for scrollWheel is MenuElement.cpp:  #include <gui/containers/MenuElement.hpp> #include <texts/TextKeysAndLanguages.hpp> MenuElement::MenuElement() { } void MenuElement::initialize() { MenuElementBase::initialize(); } void MenuElement

I'm using a STM32L151RBT6 and trying to debug with a STLink V3.The debugger loses connection when I encounter the line:PWR_VoltageScalingConfig(PWR_VoltageScaling_Range3); Specifically, when it changes the PWR-CR Bits 12:11 (VOS). I have no issue changing it to Range 1 or 2, but 3 results in this message:"ST-LINK device status: Failed to get status, Target not responding, retrying... 19" Any help would be greatly appreciated!STM32L100xx, STM32L151xx, STM32L152xx and STM32L162xx advanced Arm®-based 32-bit MCUs - Reference manual

When in the description of features of a Nucleo board, it says:Cryptography: NUCLEO-H533RE, NUCLEO-U083RC, and NUCLEO-U545RE-QAs in the case of the NUCLEO-C031C6 in its description.

I am studying a project that requires a very small microcontroller. It will only drive analog and digital ports, but we need the I2C protocol and maybe even CAN. I was advised to use the STM8, but I am not comfortable with this choice. And I wanted to adopt something that was Cortex-M0.What would be better? The STM8 or an STM32F0 or even another Cortex-M+. What is the future of the STM8 family?Would it be advisable to mix architectures in a new project?

I am willing to drive a 0.1OHM resistive lead with 4A.Can It be done? eDesignSuite notes that it is possible.I am getting only ~1.4 Amps in my setup

Hi ST team, Today I have an issue in my hardware.I flash a software via STLink in debug mode succesfully. When I start the program, the console shows that "cannot read register..." or something like that :( I cannot remember. After that, STLink cannot find the target board so that I cannot reflash or do anything with my hardware. I tried the same steps in other hardware and the same issue happened so I think this is not hardware issue.  Please help me check this issue. I also attached Debug folder. Could you please help me try to see if issue also happens in your hardware? Thank you very much.

I have a 12V GPIO high logic input on my board. Should I convert it to a 5V logic level or a 3.3V logic level? Previously, I have implemented 12V to 5V logic level conversion and already have components for this conversion in my inventory. If feasible, can I proceed with 12V to 5V conversion, or is it generally more advantageous to convert 12V high to 3.3V logic level for better compatibility or performance? Is there any recommended project/schematic/component that I should look into for this application?

Where can i find the firmware upgrade application? I downloaded the most recent (1.28.1) stm32f4 package but under projects there's no FW_Upgrade folder.I have an older package (1.1.0) and i can effectively find the firmware upgrade application there but i was looking for something newer, if it exists, to run the project smoothly in STM32CubeIde.Thanks a lot and have a great day!Omar

Hello,I want to develop logger with flash drive and STM32H753 (NUCLEO-H753) using STM32Cube. I started to develop this application with USB_OTG_FS (which is soldered on this board) - successfully completed. Then I wanted to change to USB_OTG_HS. This peripheral is not soldered on the nucleo, so I made my own connector (according to the nucleo connection - USB A connector with ESD protection) and connect it with the nucleo.  If I run the firmware (generated by stm32cube)it still calls the USBH_UserProcess callback when the USB drive is connected. The id value changes between HOST_USER_CONNECTION and HOST_USER_UNRECOVERED_ERROR (HOST_USER_CONNECTION, HOST_USER_UNRECOVERED_ERROR, HOST_USER_CONNECTION... and so on). Does anyone know how to fix this issue?Thank you for your response.

Hello,I have a custom motor control board and have so far been using MCW 5.Y.4This is my Amplifying Network using internal Op-amp gain of 4x and I just have external resistors R1, and R2. The resistors R4 and R5 are internal as you well know:Now I am migrating to MCWB 6.3.2 and am starting configuration from Inverter Board EVLSPIN32G4-ACT as I had done before. However, in Current Sensing, I noticed that:1.) Channel W is connected to OPAMP2, but I believe that doesn't change anything since my board has same resistor network for all three op amps and I understand that channel V will be inferred from the two other channels2.) Internal PGA Gain of 4 (600mV) is not an option, even though this MCU has that as an option and previous firmware allowed that as you can see form the screenshot. Is this just a bug in the system, and can I simply change it manually in the code? I designed our board based on a gain of 4 so I really need that to be the case.3.) There are no inputs for the external netw

I'm taking my first steps as an embedded engineer, especially in STM32. I've been looking for a specialization that will give me more experience, in addition to the 35 years I have in IT (Client/Server) and about 10 in embedded systems.I'm currently taking some quick courses to make it easier to get started, and I intend to get to STM32H7. I saw that there's a study path on the ST website.Am I on the right track? I'd like to have tips from professionals with more experience in STM32.Thanks.

I found a different behavior, with or without optimization, that I can't explain me.In the code snippet  below, the value b is 0 if you compile without optimization and 1 with optimization enabled (-O1) (gcc ver 12.3.rev1).The only apparent difference is having defined zzz3 as volatile.I obtained this behavior on both F3 and F4 microprocessors. The same code instead works correctly on other architectures both arm and x86, so the result is 0 both for a and b.Is it a wrong behavior or is it part of an unpredictable behavior that can be overcome by forcing memory barrier or something else? {static long zzz;static long zzz2;static volatile long zzz3;static int a, b; zzz = 0x80000000-10;zzz2 = zzz + 1000;zzz3 = zzz2; a = (zzz - zzz2) > (-1L);b = (zzz - zzz3) > (-1L); printf("1=failed : a=%d b=%d\n", a, b);} thanks, for help

Hello, due to pin shortage, I (foolishly) used pin PC14 and PC15 as output GPIOs on a board that I designed and my colleague is writing the firmware. We never use them previously, due to the all problems with limited sourcing caused by internal backup domain power switch and their low-speed limits. For the current board, the low speed and low drive was no issue. But now there is a problem - we are unable to get the pins working. I tried the code generated by CubeMX and my colleague, who uses own routines, used the approach described on several pages on the web - first disable the LSE in BDCR by cleaning the LSEON bit, wait for LSE deactivation, turn on the backup domain power, enable access by setting DBP bit, and finally normally set the pins as low-speed push-pull outputs. We tried all this, but the pins stay low all the time. For testing, we used a NUCLEO-F401RE, because the board is still being manufactured.Could be the absence of the HSE crystal (or, a TCXO on our board) the cu

My main computer died and I tried to install STM32CubeIDE on a spare computer. During the installation process I received the following error message:"NSIS ErrorError launching installer"Computer: Firebat Mimi PC, Model S1, CPU Intel N100, RAM 16GB. Operating system: windows11.I tried installing different versions of CubeIde: 1.17.0, 1.16.1, 1.15.1. The result is always the same.Note: STM32CubeMx has installed successfully and is working. Is it possible to somehow solve this problem?

Hi everyone,I’ve been working in IT for a while, focusing mainly on cloud computing and Linux environments. However, I’ve recently become really interested in embedded systems and the potential for integrating hardware and software solutions.I came across some resources and training focused on Linux, which I think might give me a good foundation for the embedded systems world. But now I’m a bit stuck. I’m not sure how to apply that knowledge in a more hardware-specific domain.I’m curious about how others here have transitioned to embedded systems development. Were there any specific tools, frameworks, or projects that helped you get started? Also, if you have any advice on combining Linux knowledge with real-time operating systems or hardware-level programming, I’d love to hear it.Thanks in advance for your guidance!

Hello, I am having an issue when I try to download the Developer package in the wiki. I am using this link (https://wiki.st.com/stm32mpu/wiki/STM32MPU_Developer_Package#Installing_the_Starter_Package) in the 5.2 section, there, it redirects me to (https://www.st.com/en/embedded-software/stm32mp1dev.html#get-software). In the last link, when I try to download the file, it downloads the wrong file, since it downloads the SDK instead of the Developer package. Probably there is an error in the API and it gets the wrong file. Does anyone else experiences the same issue?
